Hello ladies.....
Wow Chanie. Your builders have made great progress, now time for the good bit, choosing your decor and accessories.Maman. Have a great holiday. That reminds me I am in need of a dental check up and hygienist appt. Then once I've moved house I will be signing up for some extensive remedial/cosmetic dentistry. Im quietly dreading it but needs must.Well today I bit the bullet ..I've booked a taster lesson with a tutor for some one to one lessons in computing. I've been a dinosaur long enough, time to get a bit more tech savvy. 😁.
well done on the weight loss SUgarbaby. That's my next goal.So many goals and targets for me.....just need to get the house move under my belt and then it will be go, go, go.6 -
Hello Ladies,
I just had a great evening at Black Ballad Presents: In Conversation with Candice Carty-Williams. Another black female author Jendella Benson was having the conversation with Candice, then the women in the audience were asking Candice questions. I bought a hardback book of Canice's latest novel People Person and a copy of Jendella's debut novel Hope and Glory and had the 2 authors do me a personal message to me in their books. It was held in Brixton Brewery Tap Room on Brixton Station Road which is only 4 bus stops down the road from where I lived, so was literally only a 5 minute bus ride for me. It was lovely to go out on a warm, sunny evening.
I look forward to reading both of these novels.
I went to the evening with an empty stomach, so when I tried to drink some of the can of low alcohol beer I was given for free, I felt my head begin to swim after a few sips, so I did not drink any more of it. I have a very low tolerance for even low alcohol drinks.
Maman have a great holiday
Chanie, you definitely deserve a me day6 -
Good morning lovely ladies.I've just weighed myself and checked my Blood sugar levels - fortunately they are ok, but the weight definitely needs to come down, time to take action. Going to join SUgarbaby and get serious.I have a wardrobe full of nice clothes I can't wear. I have bought a few cheap and cheerful bits for the summer but that's it. No more new clothes until I get the weight down. Like SUgarbaby I want to get fitter and healthier. I still get a lot of fibro and arthritis pain. I know I would feel better if I lost weight and started exercising again. My plan is once I've moved I want to join a gym. I'm not fit enough to do that yet, I couldn't cope with proper exercise classes or swim sessions. So the plan is to start exercising at home and gradually build up to a level where I could cope with proper gym sessions.A bit of a mountain to climb. I will remember the elephant, lol.
I also want to tackle some paperwork and make further inroads into the decluttering to prepare for moving. I'm going to be busy, 😂7 -
Where did you say you were going on holiday Maman? I hope you have a lovely time.
I need to join Sugarbaby and Helen on the weight loss too as I am really getting sick of my overeating and ordering takeaways. I have gained about half a stone since I moved here and my husband has annoyingly lost half a stone even though he has been having takeaways too!
I also need to join a dentist and get my teeth cleaned as it has been almost a year as I'm sure I went to the hygienist just after we made an offer on here which was last July.
We are finally getting our curtains and blinds put up this Friday so that means I can exercise at home with my mat which should help with toning up.
I ordered some toiletries from Superdrug and a few basic bits from TU which are both arriving today. I want to get into the habit of using body lotion now the weather is warmer. We are probably going out to the beach Thursday as I think it was Friday that was meant to be very hot and I don't particularly like going out when it is that hot.

Enjoy your time at the beach @Wednesday2000 . Personally I don't like sitting on the sand but I do love swimming in the sea. 😊😊😊We're off to Turkey in the morning. We've been there many times before and really looking forward to meeting up with old friends that' we've not seen since 2019.😎8

Have a lovely holiday, Maman. 😎
my purchaser has instructed his survey for tomorrow. He's not hanging about......8 -
@maman have a lovely holiday in Turkey.
@Wednesday2000 Enjoy your trip to the beach.
@helensbiggestfan sounds like you have found the perfect buyer.
Tomorrow is the first day in weeks that I will have the house to myself with no builders or children around and I’m looking forward to the peace and quiet. There is still work to do, plus snagging, but it’s more ad hoc, so they won’t be around all the time.

Hello Ladies,
Yesterday I went to my local Odeon to watch the film Operation Mincemeat. It was based on real life events and it was about a brilliant deception played on Adolf Hitler which saved tens of thousands of Allied soldiers lives. It was very entertaining as well as being informative. It was a silver cinema screening so my ticket only cost me £3.50. This film was a 8.5/10 for me.
In the evening I went to Brixton Library for an event with the female author Leila Mottley where she answered questions about her debut novel Nightcrawling. It was very interesting to listen to Leila answer questions from a librarian and members of the audience with a candour that was astonishing for such a young author. Leila explained that she was originally noticed for her poetry and although this is her debut novel, she had in fact written 3 novels. She wrote the 1st novel when she was aged 13-14, the 2nd novel aged 15 and her debut novel when she was 17. She is now 21 as it is her birthday today. She had flown all the way from her home in Oakland, California. She told us she was feeling a little jet lagged, but it did not show. I bought a hardback copy of her book and Leila wrote a personal message to me in the book. I really enjoyed this event even though the room was a bit too warm, as the windows did not open and the sole fan in use was inadequate.
I am enjoying the hot, sunny weather as I am being sensible and using factor 50 sun lotion. I decided to paint my toe nails with gold nail polish, as I knew I would be wearing sandals a few times this week. I also painted my fingernails with a clear nail polish.
All the participants of the mental health and wellbeing discussion group at Blackfriars Settlement enjoyed some cakes compliments of Yvonne who has just turned 60 and wanted to celebrate with us. She has also invited all of us to her 60th birthday party which is being laid on by her 2 daughters on Saturday 2nd July. I am already looking forward to this party.6 -
Hello Ladies,
I got my Colposcopy results and I have high grade abnormal cells. I need to discuss with one of the colposcopy nurses what that really means for me, but it is not the best news I could have received.3 -
@sugarbaby125 I’m sorry to hear about your test results. I hope you get good treatment outcomes when you speak with the Nurse.4
