It's been hot and sunny all day today here which wasn't forecast. I'm a bit cross with myself that I didn't get some washing out as I want to clear the basket. It'll have to be tomorrow.
The great thing is that you can go to the seaside any time you want now @Wednesday.😁😎
The new bathroom is amazing @chanie, very luxurious and such a good idea to have it all tiled. I'm sure you'll love every moment using it. 😊
Congratulations on another successful week on the healthy eating @sugarbaby125. Another couple of pounds and you'll have lost half a stone. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I did minimal food shopping this week as we're away from early next Wednesday. I have a plan for the next few days to get all the fresh food eaten up. I hate wasting food.
I did browse in a couple of charity shops and bought myself a very nice linen dress, an abstract print in mainly navy and white. It's loose and cool and will be great for daytime wear on holiday.
Any news on the house front @helensbiggestfan? That distance buyer sounds incredibly rude, as if she's doing you a favour to look at your bungalow. Cheek! 😉
We went to the theatre last night and as I held a door open for a young woman she just said spontaneously 'You Look nice'. I was wearing my Zara maxi shirt dress and had made a bit of an effort with my make up. What a kind person, it really gave me a boost.😊6 -
Oh my goodness, I’ve had such a stressful couple of days. My neighbours property was damaged in the building works and they were understandably furious. We asked for 1 more day to finish some works in a particular area and the builders would also repair the damage, which the neighbours agreed. Well, it all kicked off again, with the neighbours telling the builders not to touch their property (which meant the builders couldn’t repair the damage) and the builders refusing to work due to neighbours attitude. Me and the Project Manager have spent a lot of time these past few days trying to sort it out.
I’m quite annoyed with my neighbours as they are now complaining about all sorts of things and are being really difficult.

Chanie, I am not sure how you are going to resolve all the issues with your neighbours, but you are going to have to be patient as you try to open the lines of discussion with your neighbours. Did you have good interactions with your neighbour before their home was accidentally damaged by your builders? If the answer is yes, then you should be able to negotiate with your neighbours, so that the damage can be rectified and your builders can also complete the work in your home. They could just want to be 'heard'. Your neighbours may not feel that their feelings are being considered and want your and your builders to listen to them and their concerns.5

Oh dear Chanie. That is unfortunate but sadly these things happen.Whilst its understandable that your neighbours are upset, denying your builders access isn't going to help them get their property repaired. Hopefully they will calm down and all will be resolved, if not amicably then at least to everyone's satisfaction.Try not to worry. It might be better to let the project Manager deal with the neighbours. Your builder should be insured to cover this kind of event with extra to spare for compensation and a goodwill gesture. Just apologise profusely and then let the builders sort out the details of the claim.I've accepted my offer today so hopefully it will be all steam ahead. 🤞 we don't have too many hiccups. Apparently we could be looking at 20 weeks or so, because the searches alone are taking up to 10 weeks. Mind if I'm renting and not buying simultaneously it might speed things up a bit. My buyer is an investor so there's no chain, so again hopefully that might reduce the chance of delays. Anyway it's out of my hands now, just have to sit back and let the legal machinery do it's thing at its customary glacial pace.I crashed out and slept for 2 hours this afternoon. I must have needed it. 😂. Have to say I feel better for it.9

Thanks ladies. I think our neighbours have calmed down, but I’m still annoyed with how difficult they have been.Their builders damaged our property when they were doing some repairs to to their home a few years ago. We didn’t make a fuss and just allowed them to get on with the repairs.5

Hello Ladies,
Chanie I hope all is resolved with your neighbours.
Thanks Maman, I have a long way to go, as I need to lose at least 3 stones, to get my health back on a healthy track, but at least my weight loss journey has began in earnest.
I am having a fairly quiet day today, as I have events to go to on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I am finishing the book Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams. I actually know Candice's Mum, as we both go to Blackfriars Settlement and became friends.5 -
@sugarbaby125 I made a note of Queenie, so I can read it at some point. It’s always nice to support local people, isn’t it?
I haven’t heard a peep out of my neighbour this weekend, so hopefully things have calmed down.By the end of this week, the building works should be finished and then it’s just the snagging and building control. I’m very excited, as it means we will be able to start decorating and finally get the house back in order. Plus, it will be nice not to have a house full of tradesfolk every day.I promised myself a ‘me’ day, once the building works were done and I’ve certainly earned it. I think I’ll have a wander around the shops to look for some home furnishings and treat myself to a nice lunch.5 -

We're all set for our holiday on Wednesday. I've been to the hygienist today so have gleaming teeth! 😁 Eyebrow wax and tint tomorrow then all ready.😎6
