That's a good idea to have a spare room @chanie as both your children might want friends to stay over in the coming years. We use ours as a dressing room too. I have all my 'occasion' clothes and big coats in the wardrobes and use the big mirror for blow drying my hair.
Glad you enjoyed the Corn is Green @sugarbaby125. I'd forgotten it was semi autobiographical. Welsh singing is wonderful, especially male voice. Both of my brothers have belonged to choirs, the younger one is still very active.
I've had another look for holiday clothes today as I was in the city centre. I really haven't seen anything I prefer to what I already have and there's very little around in swimwear.
I wonder if because of the Covid uncertainty, shops didn't over order holiday clothes? In Primark, almost half a floor was given over to pyjamas, dressing gowns and the like. Now that tells a story! 🤣
The great thing @Wednesday2000, is that as a local you can enjoy the seaside all the year round. I love walking by the sea in winter. All you need is the right clothes.
Not seen @helensbiggestfan for a while, hope she's OK. 😊7 -
@maman I agree with you about clothes at the moment, but this is true about all clothes, not just holiday clothes. I bought a dress about 2 months ago and nothing since then, which is so unlike me. Before lockdown 1.0, I used to buy bargain BNWT items from eBay, which was often excess stock. When I look now, there is barely anything decent, so I haven’t bothered.

There's one close to my dance class where I take recycling because they take hard plastic tubs and trays which my council doesn't do. Like Kermit says 'It's not easy being green'. 🤣
I think you're right @chanie. Because shops have to plan so far ahead we're still seeing the effects of Covid.5 -
I know Maman. I am looking forward to walking on the beach in the winter months too. I've never seen the seaside with snow so I hope we might get some this year. My dog is not allowed on the beaches from May 1st (until Sept, I think) so just as we got here she wasn't able to walk close to the sea so I will like to see her reaction when we can go closer.
I went to a couple of charity shops again yesterday. I bought two black tops and a silver costume necklace. I went in the other shop that has some higher end clothes and I saw a Karen Millen dress, two Coast dresses and a Wallis dress but they weren't for me. I thought the concert this weekend was at the Royal Albert Hall so I was going to dress up a bit but it is at Wembley. I think I will look again before the weekend just in case I can find something nice to wear.
I have ordered some hair thinning scissors as I was going to see if I could do my husband's hair. I watched a YT video and it looks fairly easy. I did cut my own hair during lockdown and it came out okay. I also bought a rose keratin treament for my hair. I need to dye our hair too this week before we go out.
It is meant to be very warm today. I will go for a walk later but I'm waiting in for an Amazon delivery as usual.

Hello Ladies,
The weather is South East London was so glorious today. I was able to wear a pair of my black leather sandals. I was also able to wear my Ralph Lauren Polo sunglasses for the first time this year.
I went to Blackfriars Settlement earlier today for the mental health and wellbeing discussion group. Everyone in the group was asked what Blackfriars Settlement means to them and what the mental health and wellbeing support does for them, for monitoring purposes for the funders of Blackfriars Settlement. It was really interesting and enlightening to hear all of the different ways that each of us has benefited.
I got a compliment from one of the other women in the group. She said 'you look beautiful Dolores'. I was surprised but thanked her for such a lovely compliment.7 -
