Hello Ladies,
It has mostly been a positive day for me today. At 2pm I was being interviewed by someone from The Old Vic about my participation in the Matinee Idols programme. He was recording the conversation and he will then transcribe the conversation then delete the recording. He was a lovely man and he immediately put me at my ease at the start of the interview. He said it had gone well at the end of the interview. My story will then me made anonymous before it is relayed to the funders of the Matinee Idols programme.
I went to Black Cultural Archives for Poetic Unity's Open Mic poetry event. It was a good evening with a mixture of very talented poets.
My arthritis was playing up despite me taking 4 painkillers when I got there. I only performed one of my poems, 'I'm Not A Racialist' because my right thigh was still really painful when I was called up to perform. One of the other poets did come up to me at the end of the evening to give me a compliment about my poem.
I got talking to another mature women who had come along to the event for the first time. We really hit it off. In fact we were talking so long after the end of the event, that I was surprised to find that it was 8.45pm when our host was insisting the last stragglers leave the building. We are supposed to exit the building by 8.30pm. Normally I compliment the poets quickly and am on my way home.
On my walk away from the building I got a loud wolf whistle from a black man that was standing there in Windrush Square. I turned and smiled at him and he said with a smile 'Mama, you look good'. I was so pleased at that compliment. Then he wolf whistled at me again even louder as I walked away. A Lovely end to my day.
I was having a fat day today, so I had dressed all in black. I had jazzed up my outfit with solid gold large hoop earrings, a solid gold and diamonique solitaire ring, a solid gold necklace with a diamond cross and my gold plated Tissot watch. So to be complimented on my appearance was a real bonus, as was being complimented for performing my poem.4 -
I got a compliment the other evening while I was out in London. A woman came up to me and said you really suit that colour, I was wearing red. It was unexpected as I was looking down at my mobile at the time when she tapped me on the arm, but nice to hear.:)
The Andre Rieu concert was great the other night. Beautiful costumes and music and just a very joyful atmosphere overall. There were some very dressed up people in the audience too.
I have had a great week. The local beaches were lovely and we were lucky with the weather as it was sunny, but not too hot. We went to the beaches at Thorpe Bay, Chalkwell and then Leigh on Sea.
Some of the houses in Thorpe Bay are gorgeous. We did have an eye on a house there a few years ago, but I don't think the area would have suited us as it is quiet and seems more for retired people. The house would be worth £400-£500k now as I checked it on Rightmove though it would have been a good investment. Oh well!
We then had a couple of drinks at the bars in Leigh sitting outside in the evening sun and then walked along a road overlooking the sea to a restaurant. I will post some pics if I can work out how to transfer them from my phone to my laptop. I was trying to follow a YT video on how to do it yesterday, but it wasn't working!
I did cut my husband's hair with the hair thinning scissors and it was remarkably simple and it looked fine. I didn't dye our hair so I need to do that this week. We do have two more concerts in London coming up and one is on the Jubilee weekend so I have to make sure we can book my dog in to the kennel as my brother reminded me it could be booked up.

Hello Ladies,
6 months ago, I was notified by letter after my yearly cervical screening that there were abnormal cells in my cervix and I needed to have a Colposcopy. I was also sent a booklet which explained what to expect and why the Colposcopy was necessary. I was expecting my appointment within 2 months, but it took 6 months, because King's College Hospital had a backlog. I was really worried, but I just had to carry on with my life and try not to be too anxious at the wait to get such a necessary appointment.
In all the years that I have been having yearly cervical screening, this was the 1st time I had abnormal cells. All my previous ones had never detected anything but normal cells. Now I have to wait for the results of the Colposcopy. I did ask the male gynecologist how long it would be before I would receive my results, but he did not answer me.I will call my Doctor tomorrow and ask him how long I should expect to wait for my results.
I cooked salmon fillets for dinner with a rice and vegetable stir fry. I also cooked the jerk chicken wings today for tomorrow's dinner. I cooled the wings down and stored them in the fridge.
I managed to get 4 loads of washing and drying done today.
I watched my 1st play online with The National Theatre at home today. The play was Phedre and I was totally captivated as the story unfolded. For me this play was a 10/10
My oldest daughter is currently in hospital in London having intensive therapy for her Functional Neurological Disorder for a month. I am hoping she has a positive outcome. I cannot visit her officially, but on a warm day we will meet up away from the hospital and have a good catch up.
I am ready for my daughter's 30th birthday on Wednesday. I did not manage to buy her 30 presents because there are so many things she no longer uses or likes, but I do have 22 presents wrapped for her. She is not expecting so many presents or the £300 I will be giving to her. She is going to have a fun day.6 -
@sugarbaby125 I've had several colposcopies and have usually been given a verbal indication on the day, followed up by my results in a letter a few weeks later. Hope you don't have to wait too long.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Thanks for that information Floss. I did feel that the gynecologist could just have told me yesterday what he had found, but hopefully I will not have long to wait before I am told the result in writing.6

Hello Ladies,
Thanks Wednesday, I just have to be patient.
This afternoon I went to my local Odeon to see the silver cinema showing of the film The Phantom Of The Open. It was based on the true story of the golfer Maurice Flitcroft. I laughed out loud so many times watching this comedy drama. It was also such a heart warming film for me. I give this film 9.5/10
This evening I had another writing Masterclass with Luke Barnes and the Neighbourhood Voices group. It was not as engaging as previous masterclasses with other industry professionals. Luke did not want us to speak, just answer his questions in the chat. The time dragged for me and I actually started to fall asleep! I had to shake myself awake. He did eventually allow us to speak, after more than an hour, but it was still a strange masterclass overall. He was not really sharing his expertise with us or giving us real tools we could use with our own plays, which was a real shame. I did come up with another idea for a completely different play and when I fed it back to Luke, he said 'I have never heard of a play like that' so I just replied 'that is because it is my own unique idea'. Luke seemed so surprised that someone on this programme could actually come up with an original, viable idea for a play.
