@Wednesday2000 things are moving quickly now. I’m looking forward to reading about your new adventures.
@sugarbaby125 I’m pleased you are enjoying your classes and how you are progressing.
@mamanI’ve been getting my eyebrows threaded for years. In terms of threading vs waxing, I think it’s just a personal preference. The salons near where I live are full of ladies who do threading. Many of them don’t speak much English and just bark one worded orders at you ‘pull’, ‘leave’. Although my favourite is ‘want moustache?’ I just like that it’s really quick and you can have it all done in 10 mins.
@helensbiggestfanyou’ve worked really hard on your home, so enjoy a bit of you time.
my news…. Work may be starting in our loft conversion in a few weeks. The company we are using has a slot that has become vacant and offered it to us, as it works for them. So, I’ve been running around these past few days trying to get things sorted from our end. If we can get this slot, it means the works will be completed before the start of the summer. We are going to do the painting and decorating ourselves, as we’ve done the rest of the house ourselves anyway. Plus OH will do the tiling himself.

Welcome back Watty.:)
I was thinking of getting my nails done professionally too for the funeral as I haven't seen some of my family in decades, but now it is being delayed and I probably won't have time to go now with the move. I might try and find a nail place after the move. My nails are terrible and brittle with all the hand washing I have been doing. I used to have lovely fingernails, people would always comment on them.
Sugarbaby - I was thinking it was strange what you said about your daughter as I woke up yesterday with a blocked nose and sneezing and then I felt very tired in the evening and got into bed. I got a high temperature about midnight, but then woke up a couple of hours later in the night and didn't have a fever anymore. I'm wondering if that was the mild form of Covid that your daughter had. I do have a lateral flow test and a PCR test here, but I didn't use them. I was supposed to be going out to Leicester Square today, but I felt too fatigued and thought I shouldn't go anyway if it was Covid. I strangely feel okay now though so it was very brief and about 24 hours like your daughter.
I have just been pottering in my PJs today. I have been doing more decluttering and ordered some things for the new house. New bed cover, hand towels and some packing boxes and bubble wrap. Oh, a heated blanket too as I read on the Old Style threads that a lot of people on here recommend them as being very cosy and money saving. I ordered some new curtains too for our bedroom. I think I am going to have a navy theme in there. I do like my navy as people who read this thread will know by now. Lol. Downstairs the living room will be a dark red theme. My two favourite colours.:)4 -
Hello Ladies,
Wednesday, even though my daughter is not extremely unwell, she is still testing positive for Covid-19. She has to remain at home until she is negative for at least 4 days. I am postponing my birthday celebrations until it is safe for her to mix with the rest of our family.
I am looking forward to going to watch a show tomorrow at Streatham Space Project and a play at the Kiln Theatre on Monday.6 -
Yes, I'm staying at home for 5 days just to make sure too because of the fever I had. We should be having some removal people over tomorrow to get quotes so I will just wait out in the garden while they are here to stay away from them.
I have arranged to go out Thursday to go and finally pick up my resized engagement ring (!) and then go and have a meal and maybe see a film with my brother. I need to dye my roots before then and do my nails. I need to remember to put hand lotion on before bed. I'm going to leave the cream next to my bed so I do it.
It is lovely and sunny here today.:) I just sat out in the garden for a while. My garden is a suntrap as it is south facing.2025 GOALS

I’ve been doing a bit of decluttering today in preparation for our building works. We are having work done on a number of rooms, which means we will be living in chaos for a while, so I’m trying to get ahead and sort out what I can now. Luckily, it’s more organising than actual decluttering, as we are pretty good at not accumulating too much stuff in the first place.

Hello Ladies,
Chanie, good news about your loft conversion. You must be really busy trying to get your home ready. I hope it all goes smoothly with the building company you have chosen.
On Monday I went to the Kiln Theatre to watch the play Black Love with the group from Neighbourhood Voices. It was a musical drama and I really enjoyed it.In fact it is kind of what I had in mind for my own play when I finally write it. We all had free tickets and I had a look online and I was surprised to see that my particular seat would have set me back £26.
Yesterday I had my 2nd writing masterclass for Neighbourhood Voices with Somalia Seaton. It was a 2 hour zoom meeting with the group in the evening. This time we shared stories from our personal lives in groups of 2 in break out rooms then the other person had to tell our stories to the whole group. We also had some homework which we all in turn shared with the group.
Today I went to the Horniman Museum with a group from Blackfriars Settlement. I enjoyed going and seeing the exhibits in the free galleries. I took my lovely photographs of various exhibits. They also have a butterfly house and an aquarium, but our group gave them a miss as you have to pay to visit them. It was great to have our lunch outside in the sunshine. The sandwiches, packets of Walkers crisps and orange Club bars were provided by Blackfriars Settlement.I am cutting back on my chocolate consumption so I said no to the Club bars. I had to take a few breaks as I was walking around the museum, but there are plenty of strategically place chairs in all of the rooms where the exhibits are.

@sugarbaby125 your Settlement Group sounds like such a place to go. I love the Horniman, particularly the giant Walrus. It’s nice to have something local that doesn’t involve going into Central London.
We are hoping we can start the building works within the next 1-2 weeks. Timing wise it’s brilliant for us, as it means the building works should be done by the start of the summer holidays and just before we go on holiday.I normally love the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend and we normally go on a couple of day tips. But because the last two Easter’s have been in lockdown, I’ve lost the motivation to go any where.6
