Thanks ladies.
It is handy as the guy who came to do our fence yesterday (as it almost blew down in the hailstones the other day) is from the area we are moving to and I definitely want the fence done there too.:)6 -
Great news Wednesday about your completion date. I hope it all goes smoothly from here in.6

Hello lovely ladies.Well I'm done for. I have been working like a demon and I'm exhausted.I have set out on a major reorganisation programme. 😱😂🤣. New kitchen island was installed last week, and my new bed was set up yesterday. The bed has four storage drawers so today I have made a start reorganising everything . So, combined with some more decluttering as I go I should finally get everything under control.Might sound a bit crazy doing it now when I hope to move at some point in the not too distant future but buying the new bed means I can now create a designated spare room rather than a junk/storage room and of course the island really sets off the kitchen and gives it a bit more of that all important wow factor. 😉.So hopefully for a relatively small outlay (and a lot of backbreaking work😱) I will have made the house look really appealing to buyers. Selling the dream......ha ha.Actually my next door neighbour announced that she has a new job and has to relocate so she will be putting her house on the market in the next couple of weeks,. That being the case I have decided to wait a while before marketing mine, no point in going into competition. Suits me fine. It reduces the pressure on me to rush to get everything done. Gives me a bit longer to make mine a show stopper.!!! And hopefully get a really good price. If I can swing it for early September the garden will be at its best. I have finished repainting the front fences, a very smart mid grey, rather than the hideous faded red/brown I inherited and I have made a start on repainting the external doors. A lovely soft grey/green, looks really pretty against the cream rendering I painted last year.I now really need to turn my attention to myself. I have lavished so much time, effort and money on my house, that other than a recent haircut, I have neglected myself a bit. The bag lady has crept back....she has to be sent packing forthwith.I have decided I am going to refresh my summer wardrobe, have a little splurge, a couple of nice dresses (apparently my second grandson will be christened this year) and some new mix and match separates.
Still not lost any weight yet.....hey ho. I'll just have to persevere.7 -
Hello ladies,
Unfortunately my daughter who lives at home with me, has Covid-19 now. She was very, ill for more than 24 hours, but she had already turned the corner by the next day. Thank goodness she chose to have her 2 Covid-19 vaccinations and the booster. It looks like she might get away lightly. If she does, she may be negative for a few days straight and it will then be safe for her to join the rest of the family for my birthday celebration on Saturday 16th April. We just have to wait and see.
We have all taken constant precautions within our home since the very start of the Pandemic. We were relieved when my son and I were negative.
I went to Blackfriars Settlement this morning for the discussion group. I used £10 of my Nectar points in the Blackfriars Sainsburys Local to get a few food items on my way home.I still have just over £37 of Nectar points to spend.
Neighbourhood Voices had our 1st Masterclass with Kwame Kwei-Armah the Artistic Director for The Young Vic. It was such a productive zoom meeting for me. I took so many notes, as we were all getting invaluable advice from Kwame. I turned my hand written notes into a 4 page word document, as that will make them easier for me to read.5 -
Sorry to read about your daughter Sugarbaby, lucky she was able to shake it off quickly.
LL - make sure you take care of yourself!
Well, we exchanged contracts yesterday and the date for completion was changed again, but it is hopefully now final. My brother has booked the day off work so he can help us move.2025 GOALS

Good Afternoon lovely ladies.Hope your daughter is ok SUgarbaby and that the rest of the family stay well. I'm still feeling rough, I'm almost beginning to wonder if I've got Long Covid, I'm just so drained and so full of aches and pains. Getting seriously fed up with constantly feeling below par.
Wednesday... well done on the exchange of contracts. You can breathe a sigh of relief now, it's a done deal, no one can back out now. I have to confess I never really relax until Contracts are exchanged. Yes the completion date will now be final, it is set in stone now.(Well technically not true, but near as dammit. It is very rare for anyone to back out after exchange. The financial repercussions are prohibitive).Tried to book a massage but my usual lady has now left. Need to try and track her down or find someone else. Time for a snack and then back to the grindstone.7 -
Hello Ladies,
LL you might need to pace yourself more. You are definitely in need of some self care.
Wednesday great news. Moving day awaits5 -
🤞🏼 your daughter recovers quickly and can celebrate your birthday @sugarbaby125. The Zoom meeting sounds inspiring. Have you got ideas for your playwriting? A theme perhaps?🤔
Shame about your usual lady for a massage @helensbiggestfan. I haven't really visited a regular beautician since our local one closed her business because the rent was getting ridiculous. I go to John Lewis for my eyebrow waxing and tinting although the salon I went to last week for the facial offers threading. I've never tried that. Any views? 🤔
Most of the facials and massages I've had lately are from Groupon in random salons. All have been OK but the full price is a bit off putting. I have a regular hairdresser and have my nails done in the same salon or the podiatrist depending how I'm feeling.
I need to give myself a manicure later. My nails are really long and one of them is a bit rough today so I plan to cut and file them before one of them breaks off. I'll sit and do it this evening while I'm watching TV. 😊5 -
Maman the masterclass via zoom meeting was inspiring.
I have various ideas, themes, but we have been told not to rush the playwriting process as we have not yet been equipped with all of the tools that we will need to write our play. Among all of us writers, there are currently 19 of us in the group, there is only one writer who has previously wrote a play. At the other end of the spectrum, we have one woman who has never written anything before.
The Neighbourhood Voices programme takes us step by step through the craft of playwriting. I am also waiting for a book I bought to arrive that was recommended to the group in our 1st Saturday session.
I am going to make time to do a lot more writing. Some of it, I am not going to be happy with and may eventually re-write or discard altogether, but I know I need to be more disciplined about my own writing.4 -
Went awol with depression. Just stepping back in to say hi and also a huge thank you. Some of you gave me super advice about my skin earlier this year and it has really paid off. Change of products and routine and the almost constant itching has gone. Thank you. I bought a lot of different products to try and luckily some of the cheapest ones worked. They probably would not be the usual stuff i would buy so that was also a lesson to me!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!7
