chanie said:My goodness, our gas and electricity are going up by £1000 😱.
How much did you pay before? We only have electric at the moment but we will have gas and electric after we move house.3 -
We're going from £140 a month to £233, so about the same annual increase Chanie. It's really scary!4

@Wednesday2000 energy was about £1000 each a year. But, there are four of us and the children have lots of electricals, so yours will likely be lower than ours..

That is a big increase for both of you. We can afford an increase but a lot of people in the UK can't.2025 GOALS

Yes. Mine will be going up by around £1k too, plus petrol and food price rises........ I can just about swallow the rises but there will be many who are going to suffer. There comes a limit when people just can't cut back any more. All is good here, although not much happening this week. My grandson had covid so I have been self isolating. So far so good, I'm in the clear.Have a great weekend. Keeeeeep fabbing. ❤️8

Hello Ladies,
I had my 4th Covid-19 vaccination yesterday. I have some pain in my left arm and the lymph nodes and I feel fatigued more than usual, but otherwise I am okay.
I was supposed to be going Karaoke yesterday evening, but I cancelled my attendance with the DJ who is a friend of mine, as I just was not up to it. Sometimes we need to make our health and well being the highest priority.

Hello Ladies,
Yesterday evening I went to Poetic Unity's Open Mic event at Black Cultural Archives. It was such an empowering and entertaining evening. We had new young poets who were so talented they left me awestruck.
I did 2 of my poems: When I Am An Old Woman and Woman Move Your Eye. They were both well received but my 2nd poem Woman Move Your Eye, got the most applause.
I was supposed to be going to Theatre 503 today to watch the play Moreno, but the play had to be cancelled due to one of the actors testing positive for Covid-19.The theatre has asked that all of the ticket holders have patience for a week then they hope to be in touch with an offer of a refund or transfer of your ticket to a later date for the play.
I am making good use of the time today and I am watching some films on Disney Plus today and some more episodes of Lie To Me.
Yesterday I had a text from the Health Care Assistant at my Doctor's surgery requesting me to take a urine test, so I went to my Doctor's surgery. I also had to fill out a request for a repeat prescription for my hypertension medication and get weighed and do my blood pressure on the machine in the reception area.
My 1st scheduled face to face outpatient appointment in the Rheumatology department of King's College hospital has been postponed again before the initial appointment date had even come around. It is likely to be at least 2 years before I am seen in person for a review of my Arthritis. It can not be helped when we are living through a Pandemic.

Good Morning lovely ladies.Very quiet on here, hope you are all well.My family are all now covid clear. They only had mild symptoms. I have been fine, tested negative.I have had a mixed week. Felt a bit low at times, a lot of fibro pain and feeling really wiped out. However, .......I think I may have finally found a "miracle cure"😂🤣. Ok maybe not but I seem to have found something to help me manage the pain, without suffering all the usual debilitating digestive issues as a side effect. It's early days yet but I've noticed quite an improvement. I managed a walk yesterday without suffering from knee pain and I've managed to do some simple yoga stretches every day. 🤞🤞.SUgarbaby....good luck with your medical investigations, hope you get some joy. Our health is precious, we need to take good care of it.I am still struggling to lose weight, just can't seem to make any headway. But I'm not giving up, hopefully if I can get my pain levels down I will be able to be more active. I am still managing some daily yoga and some Tai chi. Not really enough to help me shift the extra weight but better than nothing. Still not fit enough to join a gym but I'm not giving up. I'll keep going. At least I'm gardening again and I've been doing some serious spring cleaning ......it all counts as movement right, 😂.SUgarbaby. Well done on the poetry readings. You're very brave. I would love to overcome my "stage fright". Part of my old job was to give presentations and it always made me ill. Maybe I should join toastmasters. 😉. My son has set me up with Disney. Im loving it. So much good stuff on there. And I've really got into you tube, so much to learn, so much really interesting content.Pleased to say spring is finally on its way. Longer warmer brighter days. I know it's not been a particularly harsh winter but by golly it has seemed like a very long one. Can't wait to feel the sun on my old bones.I've got a busy week planned, preparing for my my odd job man to start on the 21st. A final push now to get the house market ready. A couple of shopping trips for decorating materials, and hopefully (if the weather forecast is right) make a start on some fence painting and garden work. I am also hoping to get squeeze in a hair cut next week.Time to get cracking ....exercise, breakfast and start prepping the top bedroom ready for it's makeover. Im such a busy little bee. 😁8

Hello Ladies,
Thank you Chanie. I am making even more effort to get out and enjoy my life.
I never thought that there would ever be a possibility of World War 3 in my lifetime, but Russia's invasion of the Ukraine has made me all too aware of the possibility.
I try not to dwell on the implications for the rest of the World and I grieve for the people of Ukraine.Life is so precious.
Those of us who are not having to face the very real horrors of war should not take our good fortune for granted. The cost of living rises may make some Britons anxious, but it is nothing compared to living though a war in your country, or having to flee from your home and try to find refuge in another country.8
