Do you all remember the house that I tried to book a viewing for but missed out on yesterday? Well, they called up earlier because they had a cancellation, so we're viewing our first Roundhill House this weekend :)
    Here ya go: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/119902796#/?channel=RES_BUY

It's very convenient for our commute (even though mine is only once a week or so), and although the garden isn't huge, it's not a million miles away from the allotment we applied for, so that could be quite good.

I also viewed this one today on my own, it's a very nice house but to be honest I'm not 100% sold on the street itself, and the 'garden' is fairly comical in terms of size. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/120015335#/?channel=RES_BUY

The Roundhill one has real potential!  Both for itself and the area.  I used to walk through that area all the time to get to Grantham Road, and even then it was nice.  And while the Southover Street one has great views, I'm not sold on Southover either.

    Good luck!

Yeah the views were really quite lovely, and it was done up very nicely, but I'd say it wasn't quite right really. Thank you <3

This week honestly has its challenges. A few months ago, I spontaneously bought tickets for Mr julicorn and me to see Cirque du Soleil (I've been wanting to go for years and years, as someone who's dabbled in all sorts of aerial stuff it's an absolute dream). Well, the show is tomorrow, I've been really really looking forward, but now with this stupid storm approaching the train operators have put out a travel warning, and it's just all a bit much. So we're not going after all. I've stuck the tickets on viagogo to try to recoup a little bit of the lost money, but I suppose being safe is more important than however much I paid for this.
Funnily enough, I spoke to a colleague earlier who saw Cirque du Soleil a few years ago, and it turns out his car more or less exploded on the way there and shut down the M25 :joy: It really shouldn't make me laugh as much as it did.

I actually quite like both of those houses, and under budget is always good! I lived in Crayford Road for a bit and enjoyed the walk into town, plus good for Sainsbury's. Sorry about your show, that's a bit rubbish.

Thanks so much @Nichelette and @Sistergold! The second house scored a 69 btw, solid score but not quite right.

You are absolutely right - did it really need that extra "breakfast room"? Some people really overdo it on the extensions.

  • Sorry to hear you missed out. I too believe that when it comes to houses, if it's meant to be it'll happen so you've just not found the 'one' yet.
Fingers crossed for this next one!

I'm intrigued by your scoring system... is there a list of criteria?
