    I just spoke to the EA again, he hasn't heard back from the vendor yet but is trying to get hold of him this morning. He did say the person who put in the higher offer appeared 'a bit flaky', so that's something I guess? 

    I'm not feeling quite as panicked today either, so that's something at least.

    Thank you ❤ At least the estate agent seems to want to be our new best friend now, he actually lives a couple of doors up from us haha.

    Yeah I totally understand. It was actually the lower offer they went for, so they didn't even push for any sort of bidding war.
    Still have been crying my eyes out for a little while now, but it just is what it is. Maybe we'll end up there one day, but it just wasn't meant to be right now.
