Weekend away in London booked :) wondering why my bank account is looking sad, but that is why.

Started my marking contract today - I expect the money for that will probably come in July but you never know, might be earlier - just got to keep marking now!

Debt slowly decreasing - I constantly want to pay more because it is not that easy.

Looking for a shed for the garden, friend was getting rid for free but changed her mind. All the ones I find on FB go so quickly. I think I may have to bite the bullet and buy a new one, or maybe build one.... although I am not sure I am that practical!
Off for a walk before another hours marking - I would run but gave blood yesterday so maybe not the best idea!

  • Definitely walk rather than run, you can always run tomorrow :)

It doesn't matter how slow you go, as long as your debts are decreasing. This is something I have recently had to have a word with myself about and I've adjusted my planned payments to allow me more living funds. Look how much you've cleared already!

I'm feeling a big old pile of poo today! Horrible cold combined with period pain and here I am sat at my computer working on a sunny Saturday morning. I'll head out for a walk this afternoon to get some fresh air - needs must with the working unfortunately as my tutoring will go quiet in the middle of next month so I need to know I have extra coming in July!

Council tax rebate came in - straight into holiday savings account so we don't spend :)

Hope you feel better soon! It's not sunny here so I'm jealous of your weather... Well done on the rebate :) I'm spending mine!

Thank you LMD! Feeling much better today and got out in the sunshine :) Today is a bit more grey - put some washing on. Should have done that yesterday... the question is, do I hang it outside and hope the rain stays away?!

Just making a shopping list and meal planning - I find fewer visits to the supermarket means I spend less and anything left over in joint account goes in savings (although was only £30 last month. Only a week until payday. I don't feel like I have battled the CC so much this month although it is £300 lighter... unfortunately I had to pay out £260 on boiler which was an unexpected dent in my emergency savings, so need to try and top that up again, but I am keeping on top of it.

Hope you are all having a lovely day x

  • If you’re going to be at home I’d chance it on the line :)
At least you had the savings to cover the cost and didn’t have to use a credit card!

Feeling a bit down about the whole debt thing today - not sure why as I am making huge indents, but it just feels like it is never-ending and I'm always thinking about my spends. So... proactive, listing a couple of bits on facebook that I don't need anymore. Off to town this afternoon to buy friends birthday present, but using vouchers I have had for ages (cheating I know, but might as well spend) and I think I might treat myself to something nice with them too. I need to smile :)

Then to mum and dads for a cuppa and a catch up before work this afternoon/evening. Ofsted is in at work this week so that is another thing I am stressing about!

  • Try not to stress about Ofsted, easier said than done, but there's not much you can do about it except try your best.

Paying off debt can be overwhelming, but if you can, try and break it up with some treats for yourself. Remember that it's a marathon and not a sprint! Don't forget to take a step back and realise how far you have come too!

Being aware of your spends is half the battle, and a habit I'm sure we will continue when we are debt free - that's what will help us stay that way!

Enjoy your catch up with your parents

Thanks LMD :) Taking each day as it comes. I think my slump is due to turning 40 this month.... I just feel like all I ever do nowadays is work or think about work! I know I'll feel a bit better about things soon, and an email from mse this morning told me my credit rating is better already - 975... not bad I think :)

I think I might start doing a PAD!

  • 975 is a great score! Isn't that in the excellent range?

Don't fret being 40, you don't feel any different... believe me! When I found myself in a 'work' cycle I started doing crafting. Just cheap things to settle my mind. There's needle felting, crochet, paint by numbers, 3d painting. I find them all quite therapeutic and just half an hour can cheer me up.
