Sounds like a nice week ahead, great news on the fuel savings and mortgage.

The weather has been so changeable lately, but we're bathed on sunshine this evening. Must go and get my washing in!

  • Morning all,

Yesterday was a productive one with lots done in the garden and it is looking so much tidier, strawberries have taken a hit with the gastly weather, hopefully we might get a few before the slugs get to them.Pumpkin plants have gone wild I really hope we manage to grow some as i love pumpkin soup.
Mr T delivery which came to £97 after £20 of vouchers so we are all stocked up, I then had dog training which was ok, baby doggo wasn't really up for it and i think she would have preferred to stay at home laying on the outside sofa sunning herself :D. Then went out for tea at one of our favourite pubs, had a scrummy meal only had mains even though when i went in i had said to DH i am having an ice cream sundae, but i was stuffed and couldn't manage one and DH decided he wouldn't have one and would have a Mr T fake magnum when he got home so saved a few pounds there.

Today has been busy so far, dogs have been walked, washing hung out since we have been blessed with sunshine again, followed DD to the car garage as she needed to take her car in as its not driving right and a warning light has come on, better to get it sorted sooner rather than later but have a feeling bank of mum and dad may have to help with this one, she needs to have a car to get to and from work and also to get to her uni placements, so no option other than get it fixed. So picked her up and then had to do a 13 mile trip in the opposite direction to go and buy DS a gum shield as he has lost his,he messaged me this morning to ask if i would go and get one as he has a match tonight and is at work all day. Really wanted to say no organise yourself better, but then thought if he plays the match and gets a tooth knocked out i would feel awful,so bought that for him and dropped it off at his work.
Finances have been done, mortgage went out yesterday along with £100 overpayment, out for lunch shortly not sure how spendy it will be especially with the weather being so nice, i'm predicting an afternoon sat in a beer garden :).

    Frugal wins

None i've been far too spendy

Sounds like a good couple of days!

Frugal win - not paying for icecream at the pub!

  • Morning all

It has been a week of pottering and getting house jobs done, few jobs done in the garden when the weather has allowed, decluttering in the house and a bit of painting to tidy up walls that have got marked.
Picked Strawberries and plums from the garden and given some damsons from a kind neighbour, strawberries have been eaten, damsons have been made into compote for overnight oats and icecream sundaes and put into the freezer until needed. plums are in the fridge as i need a few more to make some chutney will check the tree today and seeif any more have become ripe enough.
Baked a cake yesterday and used a small pot of posh strawberry and champagne jam that was in a hamper we received at Christmas, it is lovely in the cake but don't think i would have wanted it first thing in the morning on toast. We have a glut of eggs so i have changed the meal plan and will have omelette and salad for tea tonight.
Finances are ticking along. So far this week i have only spent 14p on a small top up shop in Mr S but did use £7.50 in nectar points, Will need to do a big shop tomorrow and have a £5 off spend voucher on my lidl app so looks like that's were i'm going, also have a voucher for a free bakery item, i havn't shopped there in ages so they are obviously trying to tempt me back.
Plodding along with surveys but no pay outs and only had 1 small sale making £4 this week, feels very slow at the moment, but i need to keep reminding myself that i'm saving money in other ways and this counts, using things up, not using the car, drying clothes outside, growing/picking fruit all count.

  • Morning diary,

Weather isn't looking great so not going to put washing machine on, hopefully weather tomorrow will be better.

Went to Lidl yesterday to use £5 off voucher and free bakery item voucher, spent £34 after vouchers.I was going to do a big shop but unfortunately the store once again was a disappointment, fruit and veg low quality, shelves empty in places, I went mid morning and the store was quiet so would have expected full shelves. So back to aldi for me. We have enough food in for me not to do another food shop until next week but i did need to rejig the meal plan.
Picked a few more plums but still need more (need 1kg) hopefully will pick some more today. Today will be a cooking day, cheese and bacon flan for tea tonight, will make a double batch of pastry and pop half in the freezer for future use, brownies and scones also to be made.

Finances ticking along, small sale on ebay and £6 sent to savings, keeping going with surveys but no payouts.
Joined Qmee this week and think i'm going to unsubscribe, i have tried to do at least 20 surveys and been screened out of everyone, i've made sure my profile information is all filled in so not quite sure why i'm being screened out of them all, frankly it's frustrating and a waste of my time.

    Happy weekend all xx

I joined QMee a while ago and get screened out of quite a few. I tend to make about £10 at the most from them. I also joined Eureka but they are worse for screening out.

I also prefer Aldi to Lidl, I think the quality is much better, but I pass a Lidl on the way home from work so it’s handy for just picking bits up.

    Have a good weekend.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Another Aldi vote here. I really don’t like Lidl. Or Qmee for that, got screened out so much!

It's funny, I'm the opposite - like Lidl and don't like Aldi.  I think the quality can vary store to store, and the quality of F&V in our Aldi has always been very poor.

  • Afternoon all, funny how hit and miss aldi/lidl can be.

Yesterday DH took me out for lunch to a lovely farmshop/tearoom which he found out about from a vet friend, really was worth the hour very scenic drive and somewhere we will return to as the food was delicious, Dh bought lunch but i did spent £20 in the farm shop on some lovely treats.
Also had dog training and spent another £20 on advent boxes for the doggos as they need to be pre-ordered.

Rent from cottage hit bank account today and has been divvied up into various pots,I have also done next months budget, I have upped the grocery budget by £50 as i'm finding things are costing more and more and is becoming a stretch each month to stay in budget.
Hairdressers this morning which was lovely and relaxing, nipped into Aldi on the way home and spent £50,this did include £15 on dog meat pouches which was on offer, need to not add these in the grocery spends as we have a seperate dog food pot.

    PWPS xx
  • Evening all,

Home day today and spent it pottering doing house jobs, managed to get 2 loads of washing washed and dried before the rain blew in this afternoon. Tidied out some kitchen drawers and also got some admin done.

Picked plums and strawberries from the garden, must make a start on the chutney tomorrow.Easy tea tonight jkt spud with cheese and HM coleslaw, coleslaw left over which i will use tomorrow with a salad for lunch.

Finances are ticking along and have had quite a few surveys today, gave qmee another shot and managed to complete a couple of surveys, Also hit redemption from opinium research so should receive a £25 amazon voucher in the next few weeks.
