  • Good to see you back, I've been pondering for a while but haven't had a laptop I can use until today as dd has let me borrow one.

Everything sounding good, I have said before we live parralel lives I should be getting some money from an inheritance but don't know how much yet. More to be explained on my own thread which I'll update in a min.

Hope you enjoying your break, glad you and dh managed to get away.

Will be good to be 'in touch' again, need to get back on the MSE bank-wagon again!

Good to hear from you huggle and glad all is well, i will pop over to your diary and have a catch up shortly xx
  • Afternoon from a wet and cold Lancashire, really wish the uk would get the memo that it is summer.

Spendy weekend as i bought a ninja airfryer, impressed with the price in the sale and also speedy delivery, going to try it out tonight with some tandoori chicken.

Payday yesterday and money shuffle done £300 into various saving account and £100 paid off the mortgage.
Big shop also done £116, hopefully next week it will be a smaller shop. Also had to put fuel in the car £30 which i'm hoping will last 2 weeks.
Date night last night and went to a local pub, had a very nice meal and will defo go back, helped that on Monday nights there is 10% off allmains, its not a lot but saved a few pounds.
Bought 2 planters for the drive which cost £24 do need to get some plants for them but to be honest it is too cold and wet to be out  in the garden so they can wait.
Redeemed £10 into paypa1 from surveys this has been paid and moved to savings.

    Frugal wins-
Freebie heart/kidney from butchers which has been cooked for the dogs.
Freebie win which can be ebayed and may make me a couple of ££s
£8 interest added to 1 of the saving accounts
  • Morning all, feeling fed up today and really need to shake it off, got soaked walking the dogs and now can't seem to get myself going again after sitting down with tea and toast.

I have a ham hock that i bought cheaply from the butchers a couple of months ago, I had forgotten it was in the freezer so pulled it out last night and its now in the slow cooker, going to make a pie and hopefully some soup as well, can't believe i'm talking about making pies and soup in August  :(.

Managed a few surveys so far and need to list a couple of items on £bay.

    Frugal wins -
    None so far  :(
  • Afternoon and we have finally got a little bit of sunshine, 3 loads of washing done today and dried on the line.

Pie was fab last night and there was enough ham left for a pasta bake for tonights tea and made leek, ham and potato soup which will go in the freezer. Also made victoria sandwich cake and noticed there is a few bits in the baking cupboard that could do with using up.

Finances ticking along, had an email from the vets to tell me that the dogs healthplan is going up by £2 a month, I have had 3 NSD in a row which is fab. Listed 2 items on £bay and have kept up with surveys this week

    Frugal wins
    3 NSD
3 loads of washing line dried.

Glad you got some sunshine today it certainly sounds like it’s lifted your mood.

I make soup all year round. I find it’s a cheap and easy meal for work lunches. Similarly I’ll eat salads in winter and stews in summer if that’s what I fancy.

Sunshine always perks me up,better day yesterday and felt more motivated to get on with things.

I'm a funny one with food and seem to roll with the seasons and only tend to eat soup/pies when its cold and salads when it's warm.
  • Morning all, supposed to be another dry day so i have got first load of washing out on the line.

Dogs have been fed and walked and chooks sorted, found one of the chooks hidey spot and she was sat on 16 eggs, hope they are all ok I will check and then it will be scrambled egg and sausage for tomorrows tea, already taken some burgers out for tonights tea and they are buffalo burgers that the butcher had on offer so thought we would give them a whirl on the BBQ.

Few house jobs done this morning, stuck down some wallpaper that had lifted at the edge before it got caught and ripped, polished living room and dining room furniture, still need to clean bathroom and hoover downstairs.
Also need to do next weeks meal plan and shopping list, might do a Mr T online order as i have £20 in club card vouchers and there is never anything i want so might as well use for food shop and with being home all day i can usually get a cheap slot.

Finances have been checked and no change and I have a few surveys to do.

I save my Clubcard vouchers for magazine subscriptions but the choice is definitely narrowing down plus you need more and more vouchers. You don’t get anything for nothing now 🙁

  • Afternoon, well it feels so damp and cold here so i have lit the woodburner, which for August is ridiculous.
As it's too wet to do anything i have had a chilled day on the sofa watching catch up TV and doing surveys.
Finances are ticking along and not much happening on £bay/v1nted, I think people are really cutting back and not spending unless absolutely necessary.
  • Afternoon diary and good to have some sunshine, 2 loads of washing done and hung on the line. Spent the morning out in the garden and have given it a good tidy and looks so much better after the horrible weather.

Another NSD and have done a Mr T order to be delivered tomorrow, also havn't used my car since Monday so a week of fuel saved, I do have dog training tomorrow so will be using the car and then afterwards i'm going out for a meal with DH, so a spendy day. Also out for lunch with a friend on Tuesday so actually a spendy week ahead.

No change with finances, mortgage goes out tomorrow along with extra £100 payment, few quick surveys done but no payments and nothing moving on ebay/v1nted.

    Take care xx
