This is why I only do the pennies on the end balance. If I start rounding to the nearest £5 or £10 I'll actually be taking money I cant afford.

I suggest start small rather than gung ho. Remember as the year progresses you'll see the benefits adding up even if it is small amounts.

£1.53 round up to the mortgage today after the dd’s went out. This will probably be it for a while now, until I either spend something I shouldn’t or the next bits dd out in a few weeks time!

  • I have TT'd a total of £1.78 today so far.  I rounded up all the cleared transactions to £1 instead of doing it as a block on the balance.  The debit card payments should clear this afternoon so I may get to do another one

I have decided for now to TT individual transactions otherwise I won't be TT'ing much as most bills go out 1st (or today this month) and am trying to reduce the amount of days we spend money on.  I can have lots of little transactions on one day as we shop around and I'm always nipping to the local little tesco for much needed things like choc and wine.

    Of course! More the merrier!

I forgot to tidy last night 😖 I'm putting it down to tiredness and having a heartbroken 16yo weeping on my shoulder for much of the evening.

    Hi Peeps,
I'm jumping on board for the full year as only found this at the back end of last year.
As myself and DH both have the type of account that has recently launched this facility to get people into this action too. They offer you to auto save and you can also move another figure of your choice. Natonwide if anyone is interested
I helped my DS who's money is made of quicksilver get rid of bits of messy bill debts too. Putting in the smallest amounts of change to the debt is so gratifying (is to me anyway - after being in debt for a life time  )
I have no figure or plan in mind to to do it.
It really does work - even if you are starting off with 34p. It is not race but is sure addictive.
