Nonnadiluca  I seem to remember mum making some with my younger siblings for C* presents using strips of slightly stretchy material, old tights, tee shirts etc. Template from newspaper for cutting rectangle of fabric for the outside and then as @Laura_Elsewhere mentioned.

Laura sorry that you feel so fatigued, take it easy.

@Nonnadiluca, I've never made a coat hanger cover but I've seen knitted versions and there are patterns online. It might be a useful way of utilising oddments of yarn if you knit or crochet.

Ooh, I hadn't thought of knitted covers and I've got lots of wool bits and pieces.  Much fun to be had in the coming days I think! My hangers will be swankier than my clothes!

Good evening everyone, 
whilst I have been in the Anderson shelter I have been having fun learning new crocheting skills. 

Gem-gem

First, the sheep and doing the fleece.

Next, the aardvark changing colours and a strange nose. 

Then, the squirrel - the fur stitch was challenging - I kept gaining extra stitches!
Finally, the monkey. Apart from Simon the sheep, all the others will be birthday/ Christmas presents. 

Yesterday, I learnt to make a granny square, so I will soon be starting my blanket to keep me warm at night. 

Today, we went for a walk and stopped off for some extra rations. Managed to get two boxes of ys eggs and ys glacé cherries. Made Mr Gem-gem a very nice fruit cake for tea. He has promised to share half of it - so I will bring it to the village hall with me. 

Resisted all clothes shops. Haven't seen anything that I want in CS, 
apart from wool, for pinch that I am yet to allocate - no other spends.

I’m off to the ANZAC Day commemorations in London in a moment.  We’ve been told that Duty Royal this year is Prince William.  I hope he is as kind and considerate as his brother, who always talked to the oldest veterans in the march.
