Hope you and Mr E are okay. Take care.7

Sorry to hear about you catching covid. There's so much of it about though, I think its almost impossible to avoid, even if you do mask up and sanitise to within an inch of your life. The one good thing is that the ones doing the rounds now are milder than the original.
Take life easy for now, and take care. It takes a while to get over it fully.
Sealed Pot Challenge no 035.
Fashion on the Ration - 24.5/66 ( 5 - shoes, 1.5 - bra, 11.5 - 2 pairs of shoes and another bra, 5- t-shirt, 1.5 yet another bra!)3 -
Laura_Elsewhere - oh no, I hope you only have very minor symptoms and Mr E doesn't get it. As far as I know I haven't had it at all, and next door her husband had has it twice, the kids once and she like me hasn't had it at all. Perhaps the luck of the draw - don't know.
I have at last spent 5 coupons on a new summer top to start my summer wardrobe off. I couldn't find one in any of the cs shops I have been in, or found a suitable one to upcycle so went to my usual boho type shop and managed to grab one that is very much my style, but I have chosen different colours from my normal choice for a change and I love it!!! So very pleased. Signature updated.
The dress making is progressing, I have made a toile bodice with the correct body measurements for me and it actually fits, so I want to check the skirt part before I buy some material, I used some redundant material for the toile that I have had for years and is completely not my colour but not sure there's enough to make the whole skirt, May have to be the waist part and down a bit!!

Thanks all... I think I'm definitely lucky - distinctly poorly and sleeping almost all day as well as all night, but nothing dreadful... I've been startled by how weak I am already though. Just going to the loo wipes me out so much that it's a definite, conscious feeling of relief to get back to bed after the long trek of, ooh, 8 or 10 steps...2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

Sorry to hear it, @Laura_Elsewhere. Promise me, please, that if you get to the point where you start feeling really rough, you'll go direct to A&E. Don't prevaricate. That's why they are there.@florianatwobob said:I’m still regularly masking up in crowded spaces or when socialising with the more ‘free spirited’ non mask wearers and (touch wood) am still a ‘co-virgin’ (a phrase coined by one of the GPs I work with). My recent break in York was by train so I was masked for the journey there and back and again in crowded/poorly ventilated spaces. I think my 2020 Covid ‘war work’ along with my sister working in a hospital has left us both with an abiding awareness of how quickly and easily it spreads.
The other thing I've noticed is that people have stopped consciously washing their hands for 20 seconds. Proper handwashing and being conscious of where we put our hands are probably the most protective things we can do against all infection diseases. By the latter, I mean avoid touching your face when out and about and don't fiddle with other stuff when you're eating in a public place, because surfaces (fomites) are one of the primary modes of transmission of infectious disease. (Someone with the bug handles/sneezes on the surface, then you touch it and then touch your eyes/nose/mouth. Bug transfer complete.) The five modes of transfer of infectious disease:
Fingers
Food
Fomites (surfaces)
Faeces
Face
It doesn't take much imagination to see how they interlink.
Have I ever shared my handwashing song? Early on in the Pandemic, I got bored with two rounds of Happy Birthday, so started singing this to the tune of I'm Going to Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair from South Pacific:
I'm going to wash that bug right off of my hands
I'm going to wash that bug right off of my hands
I'm going to wash that bug right off of my hands
And send it on its way....
I'm going to wave that bug right out of my arms
I'm going to wave that bug right out of my arms
I'm going to wave that bug right out of my arms
And send it on its way....
Sung properly, it takes about 30 seconds.

@PipneyJane i do promise, don't worry! But it does look like I'm being one of the lucky ones - still very weak, but otherwise improving daily from Thursday, ie Friday better than Thursday, and today better still... we even managed to get me out for a short walk this morning, a whole 500 steps out and 500 steps return, with several rests, but it felt good to be outside briefly... Then back to bed...2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

I like your handwashing song @PipneyJane I think most people are neither washing their hands properly nor regularly nor are wearing masks in busy areas. In the supermarket this morning maybe as many as 10% were.
Glad to hear you are feeling slightly better @Laura_Elsewhere please continue to take it easy and get plenty of rest.
A month ago we had a few days of gorgeous weather and I had high hopes of cutting the grass, then COVID hit and the best I could manage was sitting in the garden resting/dozing and drinking a cuppa the OH had delivered. Today I finally had enough energy to cut the grass, it helps that OH got out and put away the mower and is cooking tonight, but I feel I have eventually managed something.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I like the song, @PipneyJane!
@Laura_Elsewhere and all others who've been afflicted, do take it slowly if you possibly can. It's a sneaky one and seems to take it out of you well past the point where you're infectious.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
