Laura_Elsewhere said:@CraftyLittleLisa, I'm doing two different coupon-counts this year, if it would help you.
Mainly, the usual - I have 66 clothing-coupons and anything I buy new will use up however-many coupons.
But separately, just as my own little challenge, I thought it might be fun to try to sew, knit and crochet my way up to 66 coupons'-worth of clothing! So if I buy a blouse, it's 5 coupons deducted from my annual clothing-coupon allowance of 66, and if I buy fabric to make a blouse, it's 3 or 2 coupons a metre deducted from my annual clothing-coupon allowance of 66.
BUT if I use fabric I already have then I use no clothing-coupons, and instead when I've finished making the blouse and it's all done and wearable, then I can add 5 to my Make-It-Myself tally, and see how high I can get that over the year. Does that make sense? It's solely for using fabric or yarn I already have, not for anything I make using newly-bought materials.
I went through my wardrobe and clothes yesterday and assessed what I have. I have cleared a few things that I haven't worn for a while and have noted I need trousers really (not office wear) and maybe a pair of jeans. I need to try to wear more things less frequently and now I have re-organised the wardrobe this will hopefully happen more as I can see what I have easier.
I have had a pretty successful start to 2022. I have been very productive and not spent a penny on anything so I'm pleased with that.
Have good weekends all.Lisa

Hi everyone
I have looked at this thread over the last couple of years and wasn't too sure if it could work for me, but this year I'm up for the challenge as I need to try something new. Hope that's ok. I do knit and sew but I have been having trouble with my hands and wrists, old age I suspect, but I could peruse the charity shops and perhaps slowly knit something for next winter!! I need to go through my smallish wardrobe and see what I have. I know I have been after a new coat and pair of walking boots for this winter but I haven't a clue about summer things, I know I haven't bought any clothes for ages, so it should be interestingI do try to be frugal and sustainable in life and clothes are an area I haven't tackled yet, I don't own many clothes, shoes and handbags and I've always been like that.
I think I need to read last year's thread to refresh myself how the coupon system works.
HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hi all, just popped in to say happy New year
@Laura_Elsewhere, very interesting information about vit D and I must confess to taking a supplement daily during the winter months on the advice of the doctor. 1000 hours outdoors is definitely something I will aim for this year. I started well today with 2 hours and 40 minutes with a short walk and then pottering in the garden, a cup of coffee over the fence with my neighbour though it wasn't all in direct sunshine as the sun is so low atm that it doesn't get to the garden for long, but you are right in saying it makes you feel better just being outdoors
Take care everyone5 -
