A spend to declare - I couldn't resist this polycotton duvet-cover from Dunelm, £12 for kingsize and 2 pillowcases, one side blue with yellow flowers and the other side yellow with blue flowers!
Do I count it as two 2.3-metre lengths of fabric or do I count it as bedding?
Isn't it summery?!

Very pretty and summery!
Count it as emergency bedding, @Laura_Elsewhere and keep your coupons. We'll say that yours got shredded by shrapnel while hanging on the line during a bomb blast.

Just made my first purchase of the year -100 grams of yarn. I have been doing a crochet lap blanket for my sister, but ,although it is being done from stash, I needed. more bought to get the colour balance right. I still have plenty of the base shades left. I suppose this is how a stash grows. the big snag is going to be the cost of postage to the UK!
Am i correct in assuming that this will be 2 coupons?

Well, if the winter storm is bad enough that I get stuck home, but not bad enough that we lose power...I might get that apron finished tomorrow.2023 Fashion on the Ration: Start with 66. Nightdress - 6 = 60 remaining.7

Is the yarn primarily a natural fibre or one of the acrylics? If the former, then 2 coupons is correct for 100g. If the latter then based on a display I once saw at the Imperial War Museum, acrylics had a lower coupon cost so 1 coupon for 100g would be correct.
Hopefully, by the time the blanket is finished, you'll be able to deliver it to your sister in person.TwibbleDee said:Well, if the winter storm is bad enough that I get stuck home, but not bad enough that we lose power...I might get that apron finished tomorrow.

Had a weekend of acquisitions, coupon free
I spent my £30 Primark vouchers (gifted from DH, so out of his coupons) on three pairs of shoes, a pair of leggings which claim to be extra long two long sleeve t shirts and a couple of vest-type shirts, courtesy of the sales.
I also got a blue Fairaisle-style knitted George dress (well more of a tunic on me) from BHF with a very good zip.
And then on Monday, one of my American friends sent me a surprise package....
I'm wearing mine at the moment and it is snuggly AF....Surviving the ups and downs of life with DH

Those look sooooo cosy, @dreamyd!
@Laura_Elsewhere, summer came early! It lifts the spirits, doesn't it?!
@TwibbleDee, I hope the storm isn't too bad, we've had news articles here about blizzards in America though I don't know if that's what's affecting you. Worth putting in the time to get your apron finished whether it's stormy or not.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I was feeling very lazy today so I just sorted a bit more of my craft room out and found 5 x 100gs balls of wool with a pattern in a project bag, that must be a few years old as I'd forgotten about them! So that is going to be my next jumper instead of the stripes and that will be for next winter. I have started one of the sleeves and done the cuff, I was only going to cast on!!
Tomorrow, If I get out early enough I will be visiting the local cs, I can't wait to see if I can find something but I must be certain I like it and not buy because it's cheap!!!! I've given myself a budget and its not much so it's probably the first visit of many trying to find the right item. I have looked at my summer clothes but nothing is matching so,need a couple of bits to pull outfits together, I'm OK for shoes, sandals and a summer bag. Been practising with 'Lady Laura' so I'm hoping I can use her for making or alternating things this year, mind you for button holes, zigzagging etc I'll use my modern machine.
Didn't realize what the time was, I'll 'go up to Bedfordshire' as my Nanny used to say!

Laura_Elsewhere - the duvet set is so 'sunny' yellow is one of my favourite colours but it washes me out if I wear it, I always have a vase of daffs in the house when they are in the shops, as they really cheer me up but I'm not very keen on their scent!!
dreamed - I could do with something like that whilst sitting knitting they look so warm and cosy.
Definitely off to bed now.£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund6
