nannygladys said:Laura_Elsewhere - the duvet set is so 'sunny' yellow is one of my favourite colours but it washes me out if I wear it, I always have a vase of daffs in the house when they are in the shops, as they really cheer me up but I'm not very keen on their scent!!
dreamed - I could do with something like that whilst sitting knitting they look so warm and cosy.

@Laura_Elsewhere, summer came early! It lifts the spirits, doesn't it?!
@TwibbleDee, I hope the storm isn't too bad, we've had news articles here about blizzards in America though I don't know if that's what's affecting you. Worth putting in the time to get your apron finished whether it's stormy or not.2023 Fashion on the Ration: Start with 66. Nightdress - 6 = 60 remaining.8 -
Not enough snow to cover the weeds. I drove into the office at half-speed because my husband said the roads were generally ok. I should have stayed home, but it'll be fine.

Thanks, Pipney-Jane, pure wool, so that's 2 coupons. Big project coming up - a granny blanket for my third grandchild, now nearing three. His big brother and sister have one , so I don't want to leave him out. It will be all new washable 100% wool and I am now restricted to buying here. Not a problem as there are some lovely French yarns, but I have had a great supplier in the UK, who I don't like to abandon. As I don't want to pay import charges, another (tiny) loss to the UK economy.
Have any of you experts at the side of the stove any idea of how much yarn I will need? It will probably be double-knitting. Thanks. And do keep safe everyone.5 -

dreamyd - that's a chocolate carrying pocket!!!!
Went into my first cs of the year looking for oversized dresses to use the material or alter to fit me, but I didn't see anything, there was a nice sheet I could have used but it wasn't my colour so I left empty handed! I will continue the hunt, in the mean time I have started another sweater that I found in a project bag I had forgotten about and will make that for next winter.

Hi all, well all you sock knitters would have been laughing your heads off if you had been watching me over the past couple of days trying to get to grips with the fingerless gloves. I am struggling with the dpns
I have had to frog it 4 times as I keep juggling the needles and dropping stitches, at 1 point I pulled the wrong needle thinking it was the empty one and pulled all the stitches off
. I shall keep trying.
Take care everyone8 -

My current project is waiting for the longer needles to arrive but I have nine rows to go before I really need them.
@TwibbleDee, of all the unlikely combinations of places, it seems Texas and the UK have a common inability to prepare for snow! Most places here never get any real depth so we don't cope very well.Mind yourself with that ice, though for all I know it may be gone now.

@Liverpool_Anne. DPNs are a learning curve. How long are they? I find 6-8 inches are my ideal length. The first set I ever knitted with were longer and all I did was stab myself with them on every round. There are shorter, 4-inch sets, which are sold specifically for glove knitting. I’ve never used them - never seen them - and I’ve heard reports of hand cramps because they were too short.
How do you normally hold your needles when you knit? Unlike the way “English style” knitting is taught now, I tuck my right thumb under the right needle, which means it’s always supported and less likely to fall out/get dropped. Might be worth a try.
