I thought I was going to have to declare a spend of a ball of orange yarn but realised it comes coupon-free as part of a 'layette' as the baby is under two (I think that's the age at which babies could claim for layettes, as it were).

It feels like a bit of a cheat as I originally bought it to make two little crocheted pumpkins for her to play with and I'm absolutely sure they are not a standard requirement for layettes. However, it occurred to me that the pattern could be adapted, so most of the yarn - and some brown and green oddments - have made her a pumpkin hat. It's supposed to be toddler-sized but honestly, it fits me! So she will have a warm head every October till she's old enough to protest that looking like a pumpkin is undignified and against her rights.

I'm off to have a listen to the wireless while Pip has her program playing. Are there any biscuits left? I'll bring some cocoa.

Good advice @PipneyJane! I am having one last look around the shops later and I will keep your words in mind. 

It looks like I may well be giving up work (crazy probably in this climate) so I need to start watching the pennies more closely.

Does anyone have any remedies for getting a water stain out of a camel leather bag? A bottle of water exploded and now my nice R*dley bag is ruined…. 🙄

Leather bags can actually be washed !!!

Use a leather soap, rinse it well, and let it dry naturally out of direct sunlight.

This can vary though if there is a fabric lining as in some cases it may wrinkle and look unappealing.
It can vary if the leather is treated in any way.

With a plain leather bag, one that is untreated with any process (saddle bags is what i'm into) you can wash the leather as i spoke of just now.

If you're considering this do it asap before that stain sets further.
If it's on the bottom of the bag and not outwardly visible i, personally, would just live with it.

@white-rabbit_2-2 re the bag, if it's really 'ruined' as-is then you've nothing to lose... if you don't want to try washing it completely, via Catsacor's good advice, you could try wringing out a clean cloth so it's barely damp (it may feel uselessly-undamp but better to be not damp enough than too damp!) and work in circular movements all round the edge of the mark. Don't scrub back and forth, whatever you do, and don't do a bit circle round and round the stain-s edge - just lots of little circular rubbing movements along the watermark's edge-line. Keep on turning and re-folding the cloth so you're using a fresh bit every inch or so, and rinse and re-wring the cloth often. 
It might not get rid of the mark but it should make it a damn sight less obvious...

@PipneyJane thanks for the link for the radio programme helping to get people better informed. Learnt something new.
Is it just me when people are being supportive in giving tips of shopping in charity shops? I just get a ping of arghh you are telling them my secrets
(like there would not be enough to go around) I have been like this all my adult life. 
It is good to hear young people getting on board and that there are enough fashionistas to be unique too. 
I loved the story about the disabled person who is non weight bearing and makes money on the trainer collection they have when moving some footwear on. 
Time to load up my collection of clothing and reduce my wardrobe and hopefully facilitate me enough pennies for a new jumper.

Ditto, @2Scratters .  I totally agree.  I also loved the story from the guy from Love Island, about them sharing clothes on set.

- Pip. (Has anyone seen !!!!!! I did with the book of graph paper? I need to chart up my next jumper’s pattern. It was on the coffee table for ages and I moved it to somewhere where it wouldn’t get drinks spilt on it.)

It's in That Safe Place with my husband's electric screwdriver! He has the charger but the screwdriver has been put somewhere safe! 😉

I'm 99% certain that the graph paper is in my husband's Man Cave, aka "the study".  However, the amount of stuff piled up in front of the bookcase - where I'm certain I put it - has gone forth and multiplied.  (How?  God knows.)  It's grown at least 2 feet, if not 3 in the last six months.
