Pip, can I coax you out of your corner with some fudge and clotted cream shortbread I brought back from Devon and check a detail about the five pair pack of popsocks I bought? Given that we're allowed a 4 pack of stockings provided through the armed forces, I was wondering if the extra pair should be 1 coupon, like ankle socks. Or - from a modern day perspective, since they're utterly synthetic and not great for the environment maybe the full two would be more appropriate.

sending out much love @PipneyJane - may the waves you have to ride take you to calm waters in the end.
I've been AWOL, apologies all. I've been trying to catch up. I was called away on ministry business but back in the fold now, and out to mooch my most favourite charity shop this morning in search of a duvet I left last week (owing solely to not enough funds in my pocket and hadnt taken my bank card). I plan to use it for its fabric and am determined to get the blasted sewing machine out, switched on and a stitch made by the end of June.
No coupons to report as yet either.
Hope everyone is wellWealth is not measured by currency7 -
Thanks for the tea, biscuits and sympathy, Ladies.
@Diminua, re the pop-socks, if you ask Mr Draper nicely, he’ll hold keep your second special coupon safe until there’s a three pack available for you and then send it off to the ministry, once you’ve collected the three pack. (Seriously, it’s such a long time since I bought pop-socks that I don’t remember the quantities they come in. Is a box of 5 pairs the usual quantity? If so, I’ll have a word with our friend at the ministry and see if he’ll let us stretch each stocking coupon to 5 pairs of pop-socks instead of 4.)Liverpool_Anne said:@MrsCD I love those post box toppers, they make me 😃, please post a picture when it's in place.
@CAFCGirl - fingers crossed re that duvet cover.
Has anyone else watched this week’s Sewing Bee? Notice Brogan’s crochet top? I paused it several times to take photos.
That is crochet, isn’t it? Wonder if she made it herself?

@PipneyJane, yes that is crochet. I haven't seen the programme yet but I will get to it. I must say the scientist in me is distressed at the order of the colours, the blue and lilac need swapping but it is still nice. I have no idea if she made it herself but she does seem to be quite talented so it is possible.
Take care everyone6 -

Pip, I hope things improve for you soon.
The post box is 21 inches over the top, then 5 inches straight down, then it goes under to gather in and tighten it up. My friend made the crown on the top from a tea cozy pattern and stuffed with plastic bags so it shouldn't collapse if it gets wet. I crocheted the cover.
So...chunky acrylic yarn, size 4.5mm hook all in UK treble crochet. 12 stitches to start then increase until 21 inches reached which just happened to be 21 rows! Each row is half an inch, but counts double in a circle. Then no increases for 10 rows and a final row of double crochet because I didn't have enough yarn for trebles! I made it so I could stretch it a bit for a good fit.
I made a long chain to fasten it on, but went back later to fasten more securely with a string of cable ties woven through.2025 Fashion on the ration

Re the rainbow tank top...
I think it's a machine made, knitted feather and fan type pattern. At around 9 minutes you get a closer look, and you can see the purl row where the ridges are at the top of each colour. Also under her arm, I don't think a crocheter would join the seam in that way. I may be totally wrong though!2025 Fashion on the ration
