Still watching you craftingmad! My debt is ever increasing because of what’s happened to my house and living elsewhere. It’s things like whilst your kitchen has been ripped out to dry the walls, sorting out the shocking plumbing the kitchen cabinets were hiding and save yourself ending up in this situation again, nothing particularly frivolous but costly. Got my mot next month too. Hoping by the time my January good intentions comes round I can get back to doing this and Tilly tidying again, as in I hope I’m home by then. What is it you sell on Etsy Crafting Mad? Do you have a store? 🙂Saving for Christmas 2023 #51🎄

Fingers crossed for the car too - I always worry around MOT time especially with the price of second hand cars as it is at the moment.
January is nearly here - you will be back to your moneysaving ways really soon. Just hang on tight until then.
My Etsy shop is called Tasha and Ted after my daughter. I don't really just do one type of craft but I try and make sentimental gifts and all things papercraft. I love it as it is my release and stops me going too crazy.
Although their fees are high it does bring me in a couple of hundred usually each month so its really helping me to clear debts and build up a safety net.Mortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
Popping in to declare a further £12 added to my savings pot today from a FB marketplace sale of some ribbons I have had laying around the house for years and never used so not only do they give me a few pounds for my pot but I've also decluttered in the process so a double whammy
My total is now £653/£1500 which is 43.53%

Me again - I'm making very slow progress but am continuing to add things for sale on FB marketplace so fingers crossed buyers will be found soon.
I'm also getting a few more Etsy orders so am building up a little bit more money in my account ready to add at the beginning of next month.
I can however declare a further £111 added to the savings account today from a refund which for my daughters bus travel to college during the pandemic. they promised it over two years ago and it has finally been received so I've transferred it straight into the savings so it doesn't get frittered away
My total is now £764/£1500 which is 50.93%.

Hi can I join in too please? I have had my light bulb moment and calculated my debt and it stands at £15540.
My 1% is £155.40 (gulp!) Hoping to clear all debt by Dec 2023 but that is one heck of a challenge for me as there isn't much spare money to throw towards extra repayments.
Unfortunately debt accumulated by living beyond my means since the first lock down (never had debt except for mortgage before that) and to be honest don't really have anything to show for it. I have started listing things on v1nt3d. And have made nearly £12 so far.2024 decluttering Campaign

Hi Dfw38, welcome to the challenge and well done on already making a start towards your debts.
Are you going to pay the £12 you have already made straight towards a debt rather than waiting for each 1%?
Good luck and cannot wait to hear what you have been up to, to earn your %'sMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
I've finally managed to add another £21 to my pot after what seems like forever as I have managed to sell another £3 on facebook marketplace and my son's guitar lesson got cancelled this week as his teacher is poorly so that saved me £18.
My total is now £785/£1500 which is 52.33%.
Not much more but it's still moved me up another % so I'm pleased to see progress.
My Etsy shop has been busy this month so far so fingers crossed for a nice amount at the start of next month to add to my pot. In the meantime I will keep listing on marketplace and try and resist spending anything on craft supplies so I can add the money I would have spent into my pot too

Oop, sorry I haven't posted in a while
I'm easily distracted!
I've been chipping away at the credit card, but I've sort of made it difficult for myself to keep track of the owed amount.I usually put £400 onto a debit card every month for groceries, which the bf keeps hold of (as he does all the actual shopping trips) to use when it's my turn to pay.Instead of putting £400 on the dc, and leaving a balance owed on the cc, what I've been doing is paying the £400 onto the cc (so clearing some balance) then asking bf to use the cc for shopping.
I don't spend near £400 a month on shopping (I like to over estimate) so in theory over time the balance will be going down as paid > spent. Hope that makes sense! As it stands today, I owe £831.58 on the cc, so have paid off £468.42!It's payday next week, I can definately pay the £400 grocery budget on there again, and possibly squeeze out another £500. But I do have an invert expo to go to next month, so will need to keep that in mind and keep funds back (I already have a tarantula & custom made 'Alien' themed enclosure lined up to buy for £250, plus petrol etc)

Checking in with a further £30 added to my savings from coupons used (Makro sent me a £20 off voucher and we now have a blue light card which saved us £10 off at Asda).
My total now stands at £815/£1500 which is 54.33%.
