  • My aim for tackling debt is to break it into smaller and more manageable chunks.
Therefore my 1% for my first debt to clear is £45.71. I already work 2 jobs so the time to make extra money is limited but I will do what I can, when I can. And hopefully trim my budget a little so I can make extra payments at the end of the month.

Thank you @outoftheviciouscircle, @AdventureWanted and LittleMissUniDebt.

I started this challenge back in 2019, and just today made my final 1% (£139) payment to clear my debt!!!!

This challenge was a great help to me.  I had this grid printed on my fridge for the past 3 years (yes it looks like it was made by a 5 year old), and it was so satisfying ticking off each 1% debt amount.  I went from having £13971.00 of CC debt across 4 cards to £0 debt today, just before New Year.

I'm sharing this for anyone who is struggling with debt.  The 1% method works.  I had tried to years to shift my debt before starting this method, but kept losing motivation, and my debt would build even higher.  Best of luck to everyone starting out with this challenge for 2022!

    You can do it!!

Thats amazing, what more motivation could anyone need. Congratulations on entering 2022 debt free

Just ‘addressed’ my debt. I tend to do a big sit down every 6 months to fully address the situation and add everything up. Despite many promises not to end up in more debt this year I have ended up taking on more. For me it’s the car needs something, vet bills, the roofs leaking rather than ooh look at the nice shiny things, however now and then I am guilty of buying things, but not expensive things, small things that add up. Probably way more back story than necessary. In short, just discovered myself and oh paid back 2.5k to our debt last year…this figure was waaaay more but I took out more debt to cover things that broke as above really. Still, it’s going down, I just need this year for it to go down and also not increase!! So my 1% is: 170.58.
    Good luck fellow 1%ers!

  • Hi, Happy New Year

Thank you @outoftheviciouscircle for starting this thread  <3

Please can I join in?  I had a number #23 from ages ago, but happy to have a different number if that makes things easier.

    My debt is £4200 so PIXIEFAIRYDUST - 1% = £42

I have asked in another forum,  how do I make my text larger and can we use colours?  Plus are there more emojis?

Good luck to everyone, when you break it down it definitely looks more manageable!  A good life lesson  :)

  • It's so good to see so many of you on board. Toms post certainly gave me the motivation to do this. My problem is I start the new year with good intentions but don't always follow it through. I determined to see this to the end.
Good luck to each and everyone of you. Lets make this year our year!!
