    Moneysaving/ household saving:

    • My little pension of £11.04 came into my bank today, so this will be transferred to our ‘pension saving pot’….. every little helps.

    Wellbeing:

    • The warning light came back on the car as my dh drove it again last night…..i’m getting really fed up with it now…. So it’s back in the garage yet again.  Hopefully it will be fixed once and for all this time.
    • My dd1 picked me up to take me to my mammogram today (luckily her work shifts fell right).  I had to walk home though, which was quite a way, but at least it allowed me to easily walk briskly for 30 minutes.  My mammogram was over quickly and as usual i found it more embarrassing than painful (maybe because I’m a big breasted lady lol and I’ve heard it hurts less then)?
    • My dd2 is taking her final January online exam this morning and then she is going straight away to catch a train with her boyfriend to london to see a show, which they had planned as a treat for finishing her exams.  She will arrive back on Sunday for a very short time, just to pack and then go back to university…… i will so miss her.

I woke up this morning feeling quite ‘teary’….. it’s been quite a week for me, but i keep reminding myself its nearly over and tomorrow is a different day.

    Well thats it for now.

    Today’s quote:

“A mother’s job is to teach her children not to need her anymore.  The hardest part of that job is accepting success”

    Money / household saving:

We seem to be having a spate of things going wrong.  Today our washing line ‘prop’ broke in half in the wind AND our toilet seat broke.  Luckily we still have the ‘love to shop’ voucher my dh’s work gave to him so we used it to buy both things from Argos…..we can’t pick them up until tomorrow though as the toilet seat isn’t in stock.

Today i went to my allotment and spread homemade compost on two of my remaining beds ( i love free compost).

At my allotment today i also harvested my remaining Brussel sprouts (these are my very favourite vegetables).  Lol i used to call my allotment the ‘free supermarket’ 🤣🤣🤣.  Tomorrow i will freeze them ( not today as im tired).

    Wellbeing:

Im not very happy with our car still.  Yesterday the garage switched off a setting that stops our ‘hill start assist’ mode, as this is what was causing the warning light to come on.  They said to my dh yesterday that they have booked our car in again on Thursday to fix it…… i told my dh they should have at least of booked it in straight after the weekend because they must have caused the problem when they changed our clutch and after all we have already paid £559 for the clutch…..but my husband is so ‘nice’…..i think they see him coming 😱😱😱

Today i did my ‘couch to 5k’ again (on the way to my allotment)….this is my 6th run ( or should i say walk a bit, run a bit).  Both my knees were hurting today as i ran and they are still hurting now.  I promised myself i would treat myself to a pair of proper running shoes if i managed six runs…..maybe it’s my old crappy trainers that are causing my knees to hurt?

So my dd2 is in london today with her boyfriend, she is back briefly tomorrow before going back to university. The quote i picked for today at the top of my post, is one i read for the first time when she left for university three years ago…..it is so true.  I really thought it would get easier each time she went back to university but it just doesn’t……it’s like i start to miss her all over again.

Oh well,  onwards and upwards…..that’s it for today.

    XXXX

(By the way i can’t seem to get the bullet points to work on my post, not sure why)

    Today’s quote:

“And suddenly you just know…. It’s time to start something new and trust the magic of new beginnings”

    Wellbeing / money saving:

    • I have told myself the last couple of weeks that today is ‘diet day’ now that the last stressful week is finally over.  I have no excuse not to start today.
    • I am not joining a diet group ( moneysaving), i am not counting calories, but i am eating healthy.  I want to reduce my weight (BMI) and i know my cholesterol must be high again so i want this to come down ready for when the doctor finally gets round to checking it again (as i don’t want him to put me on statins).
    • I’m getting fitter every day, my mental health is improving, my sleeping is so much better ( i only woke once last night), so my diet is the next thing to improve.
    • I am going to do it right this time…..I have my food plan written down so i know what meals i have available to eat.  My Tesco order is going to be delivered this morning with no unhealthy treats and all the Christmas chocolate has been eaten so there is nothing unhealthy to eat in the house.   I know i am a devil for ‘binge eating / comfort eating’ when something goes wrong or i am stressed so i have down loaded a free app on my phone called ‘I am sober’ which will count how long it is since i last binged or comfort ate, as an incentive for me.  So i am ready this time, I have no excuses.

So today i weigh 14 stones exactly 😱😱😱….goodness Ive put a lot of weight on over a month.  That makes my BMI a total of 31.4 …… obese 😱😱😱….. so I’ve got to lose weight this time as it’s risking my health.  I want to lose four stones exactly (56 pounds) and i’m going to challenge myself to do this before Christmas day which is exactly 47 weeks away.

So here goes, the next stage of the ‘new me’ and my new life…..i CAN DO THIS (i hope).
