I do agree with your decision. I may have come across strongly but just trying to express options. It strikes me the seller knows they have a problem and are now acting to prevent that from becoming crystal clear so maybe to make some less careful person take the fall,

Good luck with everything else - feel for you :hugs:I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Ouch to the solicitor's bill - but anyone who's ever watched property programmes hears cash registers ringing in the multiple thousands for the types of issues you were describing. Plus it's a lot of work to deal with and stress - and if you can find something more move in ready that sounds like it would be better for you in the longer term.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

The sellers in my opinion are going to struggle to find anyone prepared to take the risk. It's cost you money now but how much would it cost to fix!? @mark55man has hit the nail on the head. I know it's painful but you've dodged a bullet here. Onwards and upwards love Humdinger xx4

Still feeling the pain of losing the house as @Skint_yet_Again is (I hope you find somewhere soon too! Thanks for the supportive post
) It is weird after assuming for months it would be my home soon, now it isn't. I have already memorised the address and postcode. I am forcing myself to look forwards and not backwards.
Yesterday I sorted out a Royal Mail issue and redirection
Today I sorted out a bank issue
Today I completed my job application!! I will send it off this evening (Hard to focus but I did it. I need to keep options open and progress. It is a competitive field so a small chance, but no chance if I don't apply, so did it...)
I am also rethinking things entirely. It might be possible for me to go a broad to an idyllic location with free accommodation as close family live there. There is the cost of the flight only. Thinking of going beginning of November and coming back mid January. I've had a lot of stress, bereavement and disappointment and think it would be good for me. Also after Nov the markets gets quiet and picks up a few weeks into the NY. It's a risk as something perfect might come up when I'm away...
My friend is happy for me to stay until I find somewhere.
It feels awful but I have options. It could be worse. I will as @beanielou often says, keep plodding
Hope you are all ok

A few months abroad could be just the job to recharge your batteries @doingitanyway, as long as you have space to yourself. The number of sales that don't go through, you're likely to pick something up when it comes back onto the market in my opinion. Standing by for more updates love Humdinger xx3

A couple of months away from the stresses and strains (and the cold!) sounds idyllic and will hopefully give your mind and body a complete reset.
You have been through such traumatic times recently, and I think sometimes we can become so bogged down with the problems around us that we don't always think straight, so time away from it all can only be good. ((((hugs))) XXI Believe.....
