sorry to hear you had a bad day DIA - it often comes in waves. I would probably hate the job offerer at least as much as the phone swiper - although they should both know better, and both cause lots of distressI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Sorry to hear of your misfortunes DIA.
Have you checked 'find my iphone on your laptop? BTW, if you are a Mac user you don't need antivirus software.

Do not attempt to buy place with tenants in situ!
As for the job situation, keep throwing the darts! I got strung along like that a few desperate times when I unfortunately couldn't avoid having to accept becoming permanent in that hellhole of a job. 3 interviews instead of 2, rejected for job but job reappeared a month after I was refused it . you get the picture.
It's good that yourself and host have more of a plan so to speak , and that things are that bit easier. Seems like the air has been cleared .
Life is crap! But, things will improve for you eventually . keep going ...6 -
Sorry things have been tough. Hope it all improves and the viewing goes well x"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4

I feel for you DIA. Theft is horrible.
Sometimes you just need hippo time as per Paul McGee - wallow a bit - and then dust yourself off and get back in the fray. Hope you find your happy place soon. I would be struggling with the gratitude list in your shoes. Well done for finding any.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Just a quick thought….the bus will have cctv. They may be able to see if they caught the theft on camera if you contact them (or the police do). It’s worth a try. Everyone should get their come uppance! Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

"House I want to view has tenants and they are making it hard for people to view"
No. Don't waste your time or money until the tenants are out. If they're difficult now they might really cause a problem and refuse to leave and that will take a couple of years to sort.
re the job calling you back in 6 months after a restructure.....I had this happen about 15 years back. One interview got a response of "we love you but have withdrawn the job, sorry. But we'll keep you in mind". That lead to another interview a couple of months later and it then took them another 2 months to offer a job. I started in March and in May they announced we were all being made redundant. That was 14 years ago and I'm actually still employed by them having moved to a new role each time they restructure and try to get rid of me. Finally jumping now as the ££ offer is too good especially so close to retirement. @MovingForwards @savingholmes @jwil @Mrs_Boo_Boo thanks for the comforting words
@another_casualty thanks for sharing your job story I will keep throwing the darts! I will also heed your word re tenants
@Brie thanks for sharing your job story and you have a good point re tenants
@WinterWarrior it was when I was off the bus at the station. I doubt the police will be interested. Where I live if no one was physically harmed the most you get after much hassle and time is a crime number if you want to put in an insurance claim. So, learning from it and putting it behind me

I last posted after a little run of more awfulness so it has been a week since last posting.
I've been busy...
I spent Easter with family and friends. I had an awful migraine so lost a few days.
I was glad to get 'home' I had a day where I missed opening my own fridge, eating what I want when I want and pottering. No point moaning. I need to keep actively looking for a home. I saw a lovely flat and one that wasn't so lovely. The lovely one did not 'feel like it could be my home' the garden lacked privacy too. Going to ask for another viewing of the one with the issue and see if I can take a plumber friend with me as that one did 'feel like me'
MSE wise small spends again are the main issue. Started using tea at the club to save me a small spend.
In some rare good MSE news one of my relatives gave me a brand new phone that was not swish enough for them. They took one look at the phone I was using and asked 'what is that?' Apparently even children do not use what I was usingSo back in touch with the world again.
Back at the club today. Feels great to be here. Sun shining. An oasis of calm
Counselling tomorrow and a visit to my favourite CS
Wishing you all a good day
