Is a travel pass any cheaper if you buy a 4 week one? I think you need to get out to places with a positive vibe, until you move.
Maybe make some tray bakes for snacks, with a packed lunch and coffee you should be set up for being away all day.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.6 -
Thanks @another_casualty I remember your cafe N coffees in your first diary. It is my preferred chain too. The treat coffees I agree with but it is the rubbish coffees in rubbish places I need to watch out for. They don't feel like treats. They feel like just not having my act together! Love the birthday tip
Thanks @savingholmes. Fingers crossed
Thanks @MovingForwards. I am pleased to report I took lunch/drinks and snacks and did not spend on anything except fares! A much needed LSD
Hoping for some news this week work wise...
A good working day with a trip to an archive set up for later in the week. If I remember correctly @Brie is an archivist. I love visiting a good archive

Today I got a new rail card as it reduces train travel by 1/3 I have lost money pre-booking tickets in the recent past, plus timed trains are not very relaxing as life tends not to run to plan. This way I can purchase more flexible travel with not that much more cost wise. So, checked my Archive journey and all looks fine for tomorrow.
A perfect (for me) flat came up. Offered 25,000 above asking price. It has had offers 45,000 above asking price. I can't compete so keep looking. I will leave it there...
Host finding it difficult to have someone else in home and has voiced this, so staying out of the way as I do anyway and hoping for something to shift...job, (so renting becomes a possibility) or a new home... In the meantime I do have somewhere else I can stay, in fact 2 other places so not panicking. Where I am it is easy to get to the club and other places but that isn't everything. Arranged to be away over Easter, and a few days the following week.
Job-wise the outcome of one possible is after the deadline for another possible so will have to do the work of an application that I may not need. Hey ho...
All payments to everyone including host have been made and I am still debt free!
Another day at the club today and work is going well. The place has been a haven. What would I have done without it?
I won on the PBs. Don't know how much but enjoying the possibility that it is more than £25, but even if it is just £25 I plan to blow it with some fizz to enjoy in my friend's garden in 2 weeks time!
Hoping everyone is ok.

You are doing everything you can and still keeping it together DIA ,and you have to be admired in the way that you are handling what comes your way .If you keep throwing the darts so to speak , it is only a matter of time that things finally change for the better . With Easter and people diy ing etc , then more places should come up .As for the host , it may be time to take advantage of the other offers and leave a polite note and a present when you know she won't be around . Good terms and all that . That's what I'd do, but you'll probably do things better when you know when .That club sounds brilliant ..
Nice win on PB ( hopefully a good one )
Train ticket purchasing seems all about planning these days . I tend to use Trainline and south worsen trains at my end . With regular travel , There is only So much in terms of best price etc
I'll leave it there ..😼6 -

Glad you have a couple of other options. It sounds like it would be a good idea to use them. Glad you have options over Easter so you and your host can get a break from each other.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I concur with SH and AC about taking up the other offers, it will be more relaxing being welcome somewhere.
Travel discount is good and will open up getting around a bit.
Congratulations on the PB win!Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.6 -
Having someone else in one's home is difficult. And being in someone else's home is difficult too. If you are a good guest (and nothing about you suggests otherwise!) you do end up tiptoe-ing around to keep the peace. Think this is why I haven't taken up a friend's offer to come and visit with her - I need a break and being made redundant shortly I will have the time but I don't want to impose or interrupt her busy life with her thinking she needs to entertain me.
Even those situations where you are paying rent to a host can be fraught. In our area there's lots of English language schools and lots of people have students billeting with them. I have sometimes thought it might be nice, interesting, a good little bit of extra ££ but then think about how much I like being by myself (well I'm not as there's OH & MiL living here but you know what I mean).
Net sentiment is that I hope you find your happy home soon as it's possible. yes perfect places will come along and be lost but when you think back you'll likely be able to spot the flaws - at least that's what I've always done when trying to move to pastures new.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Thanks everyone. All ok where I am living for now and we have agreed a period of time I can stay. After that I will make other arrangements. We are getting along much better now.
Rubbish stuff that has happened recently
So, mobile pickpocketed on the bus. I know it was when I got off, as I made a call on the bus just before I got off. 10 minutes later SIM dead when I called myself. It is hard not to hate them. Actually it is impossible right now.
Job I applied for strung me along for months and now say they might recall me within 6 months for interview as the organisation is restructuring.
House I found and really liked had too many issues and one major one so did not offer
Archives visit was a nightmare, so in the end I came home. Waste of fares and time.
Loaded antivirus and it won't work without R0setta...
House I want to view has tenants and they are making it hard for people to view
OK, I get that there is a war and many people have it much worse but honestly feeling thoroughly fed up
Gratitudes (REALLY HAD TO SEARCH FOR THESE)
Old non smart phone working so I activated it and can give and receive calls
New lovely property on the market
I was flexible with an organisation so they will not be charging me a £60 fee
Tomorrow I need to relax. Find a way to destress as I have viewing/travelling later in the week.
I hope everyone is doing better than I am!
