I hope something comes up for you soon. It must be difficult."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3

Aw, thanks for taking the time to post guys
@another_casualty and @Brie I agree with you both. I decided not to go into debt but I realised some funds that involved losing a small amount of interest. It was worth it. It is making my present better and I feel more relaxed. Having the odd extra coffee, cake or whatever is needed at this time. Still being mindful about spending
@Sunshine_girl2 it isn't very homely but I think I can make it work all the same. It was a great weekend with a forest walk thrown in. The week should be good. I'm organised and feeling positive and looking forward to viewings at the weekend.
@beanielou, @savingholmes and @Four_Seasons thanks for the support
@Chrystal it is stressful but doable. I think the behaviour is unconscious. I can't say too much on a public forum but thanks for the support
@MovingForwards and @mark55man thank you for your thoughtful posts. If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I had a great weekend with my friend. Very relaxed and much needed. She said I could stay longer but I wanted to get back and get on. She wanted me to stay full-stop and offered a key but what helps more is being able to stop for a few days when things get too much.
I prepped well last night and was at the club early. All good. Sunny, longer days help don't they?
There are negatives to my situation but whilst letting off steam on my diary and having a moan, I am focusing on the other stuff, like I am very near to the resources I need to do the things I need to do. I think the worse is over. I am adapting to her way of doing things (I can't expand here) It is a learning curve, probably for both of us. I think she enjoys the extra money useful and doesn't mean to be as she is. It is just her way.
If I plan well I should be able to avoid using the space at the same time as her. I am very productive creative-wise right now and I think it is because I am not caring for my relative and I am in an environment where I am not settled. So I am going to use this as an opportunity.
I decided to bring a few things out of storage to make me feel comforted. I also added plants to my room. And a beautiful print that I've been meaning to frame since forever.
I thought about @another_casualty s comment and I freed up some finance to make life a bit easier. Still not going into debt as that also makes me feel jittery!
At the club today working but all nip off early and buy a cool bag for my lunches as I have so many bits it is good to pack it all together. Today I forgot my bread! I will also buy some nice bath foam to treat myself to a relaxing soak (a third off Ns Yard in Mr W if anyone is interested)
Wishing you all a good start to the weekIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Glad the weekend went well .we knew it would 😼
Treading on eggshells now and again , can be difficult but it sounds like you'll manage ok as you have lots of preparation and organisation . Oh, and determination also .Hopefully what may happen , is that you might be able to make up for the financial situation by getting your eventual home for less than expected .Here's hoping 🤞
I'll leave it there ...😼5 -
Thanks @another_casualty. A nice thought, but unlikely given the price rises...it should still workout...
Yesterday I bought the cool bag so a successful packed lunch today. Also discovered there is water and also tea making facilities here, so my bag is lighter today.
I almost managed to avoid my host. We overlapped by 10 minutes. I have a mini thermos so will use that as a coffeecup to leave the house with. Can drink the coffee on the bus. Should be able to shave some time off my leaving the house routine.
I avoided a coffee out by having breakfast at the club instead of Pr3t.
No bath oil so I will try and get that today.
Sunshine here and trees are blossoming. Could be worse.
Editing to declare a frog. A dental frog! I am ashamed to say I haven't been since lockdown. Must make an appointment.

All sounding good DIA 😼
one thing I did used to love from pet, was their croissants 🥐.
As for the dentist ; is it in the area that you plan to settle , or is it your existing practice?
Just for general info , I'm on the dental plan ( approx £20 pm ) . That may seem like a lot , but I get free 6 month checkups / hygienist etc. Plus discount for any work that has to be carried out . Just a thought 🦷

Hope you're able to sort the dentist out ok. I was supposed to have a checkup in January but my appointment was cancelled as my dentist had left the country! The practice has been all Polish people ever since I started there a number of years back but i guess post Brexit things were bound to change a bit. Maybe things will swing back again now. Anyhoo....finally managed to rebook for the beginning of May which is a good 10 months after my last checkup! My poor old dad (who was a dentist) would be very cranky about this if he was still here to comment!!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. haven't been in a dentist since 2019 - and all the partners have changed in my local practice. I will need to get on with it as my teeth aren't the best, but not having any problems at the moment so will probably hum and haw until its too late.
good news about all your little life improvements, including avoiding your host. One of life's little politeness-esI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Hugs on the dentist - I am phobic too. I realised part of that was the cost - and now pay monthly to incentivise myself to actually go and make it less painful when I do go.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

The cost of dental treatment would leave anyone down in the mouth .It's a cost we have to swallow I guess ..
Problems I had when living in London is that the dentists often changed premises , staff or folded up .
I'll leave it there 😼4
