Going back to our benefits discussion the other week, Jobseeker's Allowance also counts towards your personal allowance for income tax. Eighteen months later and they have finally finished collecting the tax I owed them from that three-month period (🙄) and my tax code is back to normal, so even after the NI increase this month I only had an extra £2 deducted overall. At some point this weekend I want to sort out claiming the difference on my mileage, although I must admit I have very little appetite for my tax code to be altered again (even if it is in my favour!). Must put big-girl pants on!

Bank switching, however.... You and Ed are totally right, I really should look into that again. I've also NEVER investigated matched betting. I am hereby putting both of these on my to-do list and will report back at the end of the month 👍!
    Reporting back as promised!

    Matched betting:
I've had a good read up about it and I'm pretty sure I understand the concept, but I just don't have the headspace for it at the moment, so I'm sticking a pin in that for now

    Bank switching:
First switch completed yesterday (to RBS, as recommended by CM), so £150 should be with me within the next 6 weeks. I'll be setting the second switch going (from donor account #1) next weekend, so this is a "yes" from me, although not sure how long I'll keep it going. Thanks for the nudges 😀👍!

I'm not 100% that you even own a plate. Just bowls!

Sometimes we miss out on some of the nicest things just because they are close to us.

I like a good bowl for eating in - we have some large shallow bowls in our Denby set (I think they are marketed as pasta bowls) - they are good for things like cottage pie, cormed beef hash, curries, noodle dishes (we have noodle bowls but I prefer wide and shallow to the deep noodle bowls), etc - they get used an awful lot in our house, thinking about it...
We have some wide shallow bowls which we use for all the dishes above and pasta dishes, chilli, jacket potatoes, we use plates for meals including fish and chips, roast dinner, sandwiches, cooked breakfast and we use smaller deeper bowls for porridge, soup, ice cream, pudding and custard.

Our pasta bowls are from Ikea and we find them very versatile.
