Gosh I turn my back for a while and you have a new diary.Well done on setting up the dummy account for switching. As you know I have kicked the backside out of the switching offers over the years using a couple of dummy accounts and just when I think I have had them all, another pops up. We've just had £280 from S@ntander.
Our pasta bowls are from Sainsbreeze 😊4 -
It's disappointing when things go down, but it doesn't last forever. I'm still £5k+ down since the highs in my SIPP alone, despite adding £££ since values started falling.
I also have a free fractional share of big river in a share trading app that has fallen 20%!!! I never thought I'd see the day2 -
Extremely pessimistic pension forecast received....
(this is the one from old-old job, which just chugs away in the background with nothing being added to it)
Investment gains in the last 12 months: £1,802.42
Projected investment gains in the next 26 YEARS: £4,725.34 😳Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

In cheerier news, the council have updated their website to say all rebates to Band A properties will be paid on 09/05, so that will be a handy boost to the coffersMortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Nicely done, can't beat a wee rebate. My central model for investment growth (haha, that's what he calls a single FV calculation in Excel) is sticking a finger in the air for 3.5% growth moving forwards. I'll re-visit once a year3

Sounds like you could teach Aviva a thing or two, Ed - no idea what they are basing their forecasting on 🤷♀️!?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Because they will be operating in a regulated environment they are obliged to show a range of probabilities, their central assumptions will probably be more pessimistic than mine. I can't afford to be pessimistic4

We had an email from our council saying they need to update their computer system in order to process the payments and therefore probably won't be making the rebates until September 🙄
My pension forecast is also a bit dismal but that's because it's still based on my old, old salary and not the new one which is about £20k higher. Takes them a few years to update these things so hoping it's not as bad as they think 🤣Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20175
