Re: burning paper, I had a lot of papers from my divorce that I ripped into big bits & burnt in my chiminea. I got it going, then fed them in. It took maybe a couple of hours but was very satisfying!

I have been decluttering for a few years and feel like I am nearing the end now... (maybe). Anyway, I really felt that in my tidying journey I reassessed pretty much my whole life and I got divorced a couple of years ago. I love the fact that you have burnt your divorce papers Floss! How very therapeutic. I haven't touched my 'divorce file' but feel inspired to do so now and will get the benefit of a lovely warm fire. Many thanks

Hello all
You've all been very busy in the last couple of days. My office is starting to look a bit less cluttered, finally. There's still a long way to go, however, but I'll get there!
The following have left the premises:66. Cardboard packaging – recycled
67-68. Two finished candles – binned
69-72. Four finished tealights – recycled
73. Pile of junk mail – recycled
74. More filing done
75. Pile of paper shredded
76. 500 emails deleted
77-78. Catalogues recycled
Keep going.

Hello 👋 just found this thread, I have started on a decluttering mission this year. I’ve made a list of all the areas in each room that need to be sorted. Literally drawer by drawer eg mugs and plates, bedside drawer, bathroom cabinet etc I’m ticking each one off as I go so that I can see what I’ve achieved. I’ve also found it helpful to take a before and after photo each time, it’s only for my own reference but it really spurs me on.I was doing glasses today though and realised how many flipping glass gu pot ramekin thingies I’ve got. Finding it hard to part with them as they look so useful. I use some of them to put snacks in / put leftovers in the fridge / make jellies in and 1 as a tea bag rest. Any ideas for how I could upcycle some into presents? I’ve made tea light holders out of some before , but other ideas would be appreciated.
