Oceanspirit thank you. I know it works both ways because we're still happily married after all these years (either that or we're both soft in the head 🤣)
Today is DD's birthday but she's working then she has a meeting afterwards so we won't see her, but she's already had her card, money and presents. I'm sure her own little family will spoil her rotten tonight.
DH is not very well today ( D&V) so I've gone minimalist with the decorations, especially on the tree. He loves Christmas but I've been trying for years not to have the house looking like Santa's Grotto 😂 And 👏DH likes it 😲
Hope you have a good day. Take care and hugs to anyone in need.
nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently8 -
Oh no @roundtuit - hope the boiler gets fixed soon.
@vulpix I remember being in the Prague Christmas markets for the first time in 2008 and seeing barrels of perch that were waiting for people to buy them for their Christmas eve dinner.
Had a couple of deliveries in today and have unpacked them as soon as they arrived and the boxes have been added to the pile in the car - I will get rid of them tomorrow!
1 load of laundry done, and I'm now off to tackle a cupboard in the kitchen which may result in some more things leaving the house - it's the "tupperware" cupboard. Thank you everyone 💓
The boiler man arrived at 4.40 and he has fixed the boiler. Yay. It'll take the house a while to warm up but oh the relief.
And breathe

@roundtoit - I hang the rugs using loops of yarn through the backing and then using picture hangers for them. I have never had a problem with mold. It shouldn't be any different than hanging pictures on the wall.
I had the strangest experience shopping yesterday. Actually took two different people shopping during the day as one had his food stamps come in and the other needed to get his groceries for the week. The second time I went in to see if I could get me a nice top to wear Saturday when my grandniece and grandnephew are in a production of the Nutcracker. Think the store was trying to win the ugliest sweater contest. And the other tops were so thin they were almost see-through and wouldn't have lasted long. But I saw a sweatshirt top on sale and loved the color so I decided to buy that instead. When I got to the check-out counter, it rang up as being 3 cents - and neither I or the checker could believe it. So she called the manager over who checked with the person marking in that department. They pulled the others to remark them - but decided they had to let me have the sweatshirt for the 3 cents that originally rang up! I'm saving the receipt for proof strange things do happen.12 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV during daylight hours 😉 AB2 playing zero - 20/9/2022
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedI never did get my ‘arris in gear yesterday 😔 I did finish the 2nd scarf & am three quarters of the way through knitting a beanie. DH was out for several hours but the X-ray went well - 15 minute wait & then 10 minutes in radiology 🙂 then a few hours on the ‘underground rally’ 😉 He also did a small shop in M*S - so have Wednesday’s dinner sorted - lasagne & garlic bread 😋 The other thing I managed to do was prep & roast the last of the bendy veg. Together with the last bag of roasted vegetables from the freezer & a dollop of marmite there is now a pan of hm soup cooking 🤞Tuesday night’s dinner was cottage pie & pre-cooked lo vegetables (warmed through by frying) all from the freezer. Wudupa.
Wednesday is a bright, crisp day - blue skies & sunshine makes the day cheerier than of late 🙂 Currently in my snuggly dressing gown, having my 2nd cuppa & catching up with this thread 😉 I will try harder to get my ‘arris in gear today 😂 The hm vegetable soup was filling & quite tasty but lacked a certain something 🤔 DH has just filled up the bird feeders & called me outside ……. one perfectly formed, recently deceased black rat in the middle of the garden 😱 No idea what killed it & no signs of predation 🤔 Anyway, now triple bagged & in wheelie bin.
2101 - 2106 Kitchen recycling, cardboard inner tube from foil, cardboard packaging, 2 plastic cartons, drinks cans - recycled2107 - 2109 Kitchen detritus, plastic packaging, large bag of bubble wrap (binned by DSis) - binnedExcellent decluttering short_bird 👏 Fingers crossed that the washing machine engineer turns up 🤞Thanks for that weenancy 👏 What a great use for latch hook projects 🙂
What a lovely supportive post bit_by_bit 😊 You are definitely on a roll with your decluttering 👏 & you even found time to visit family 😊
Oh dear nannywindow 😔 although I must say that I also prefer a symmetrically decorated Christmas tree 😉 as well as symmetrical clothes 😂 Well done on the decluttering of washing 👏 Great cheerleading 🙂
vulpix, catching up on sleep is NOT wasting the day wagging finger emoji - it is called charging up your energy levels 🙂 I think they are ‘trainer’ socks but like you they don’t work for me either 😉 There are occasions when more in than out is the only course of action 😊 However it sounds like you will make up for it by the judicious despatch of unloved sockage 👏 Perhaps the marimekko shirt could be used as a wall hanging 😉
Excellent decluttering -taff & rather nice that OH is onboard 👏 Perhaps you can make 2023 the year of using up your craft stash 😉
Liverpool_Anne, sorry to hear that OH’s hospital appointment was so inconclusive 😔 I have to join you in the ‘not an accomplished knitter’ club 😉 I am a slow, loose knitter but like you I give it a go & most of the time perseverance pays off 🙂 The rather nice outcome of our knitting is that other people love hand knitted items 😊 Which reminds me I really need to finish DH’s jumper which I started knitting about 30 years ago 😱 As to adding a photo, I know you can do it 👏- click on the ‘little mountain’ icon & follow the instructions to select your photo e.g. choose file from photo library, click on ‘add’ then place cursor on your post & watch the magic happen🤞Excellent work roundtuit - great use of the TARDIS shelving 👏 Good luck finding all your cross stitch kits 🍀 not only money saving but also potential gifts for 2023 😉 Your Christmas preparations are very well advanced 👏 All I have to do is put some string up for Christmas cards & I haven’t done it yet 😔 Oh poop roundtuit 😖 - everything crossed that the boiler can be repaired quickly & inexpensively 🤞Very well said oceanspirit 👏 it is our ‘quirks’ that make us lovable 😉 Excellent work moving Mission Control from the breakfast bar to the bureau 👏 & good luck with condensing your lists 🍀 Your DSis is definitely a superstar & as such I am awarding her a Gold Star ⭐️ Hope you have a lovely time on Sunday 😊bit_by_bit, ‘fess up - how many years was the book unread? 😅 Good luck with the clear desk policy 🍀 Poor DS1 😔 planning a bathroom refit for the future is a lot less stressful than having to have it done 😱 Rehashing finances always gives me a headache, so well done taking the time to do it 👏 Tough decision 😔Yippee vulpix 🥳 What a great job MrV has - interviewing such an interesting & amazing lady 🙂 Excellent decluttering 👏 A trout in the bath - sounds fun 🤩 Good luck with the sewing 🍀 Lovely hobby to have - I’ve always wanted to be able to woodwork but am rather clumsy so not a sensible choice of hobby 🤣nannywindow, happily married or soft in the head - interesting choice 🤣 Sorry to hear that DH is unwell but it appears to have tempered his requirement for Santa’s Grotto 😉😉
I have taken so long to get this far that it is time to cook dinner 😱 Back later to finish cheerleading 🙂MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🥇 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Reporting in - no progress with bathroom and smell and no-one has contacted me - think I should complain to insurance company. It was 13th September when contractors became involved that is almost three months. RL is very challenging for DS2 which makes it stressful all round here at the moment. I am away for a week from tomorrow so hoping there are no disasters and some positive developments.

Healing vibes to those ill or under the weather. Nothing out but deleted 100s of work email and been doing long days as still no replacement for those people who left.
Mrs SD I'm quite clumsy so found upholstery a bit difficult ( also problems with my hands).but been enjoying some sewing lessons. I know late in the day, made a lavender bag which apparently isn't something to be proud of but then made a zipped lined pouch! Going to do more in the new year.unsure why I haven't been able to go back to knitting but could do with it to stop me snacking. Working doesn't seem to do it. Couple boxws gone back on on top of kitchen units but kept coffee set and glasses out as think I should try and use or send packing. Take care all x

Hi all, well it's full moon feckery going on here, it's SO bright it's amazing
.
Very little done yesterday as I spent ages on the phone to various friends catching up which was really nice. In the process I have established there will be no exchange of gifts at Christmas this year. We have all decided it is just too stressful.
I got some lovely pictures from my sister via whatsapp of the holiday in Bequia. Lounging in the pool, walking on the beach and a trip over to Mustique so they seem to be having a grand time. All I need to do now is track down my nephew who is either in Pakistan watching the cricket or "somewhere' in India
Off to make a cuppa and do some more moon watching
Take care everyone8 -
@Mrs SD, the problem with the photographs is that I am using my kindle right now and my photographs are on my phone
. I know there will be a way I just have to think it through
