Amazing work @grandmanerd
You are so hardcore @QueenJess Decuttering while still under the weather Take care of yourself now
Aah @roundtuit I have lots of little kits squrreled away. I will get them done eventually
Welcome back @vulpixI can verify the non buying if stuff as opposed to me who spent lots on little gifts.
I can help with your list. A bag of baby hats, a bag of bras, a bag of records, a bag of wooden heron ornaments. I saw the Christmas stuff I gave to the CS on sale today when I took a bag of my stuff in.
Welcome back @VickyVGood luck with your advent declutter.
So on the way back from the New Forest yesterday I dropped a bag of books onto the charity book sale table at the services, Good job. It was all Mills and Boon and childrens. I added fantasy, Ian Banks and Bill Bryson. I also visited a nephew and his little family. I left a bag full or small gifts for the children from various family members and they girls each got a notepad with postits I got them from my cruise.
I dropped a mixed bag into the CS today. DH happy to see it all go as am I. I did pick up several books. One for the car in case I forget to take one with me like I did at the weekend and one for DH Christmas box.
Tomorrow I am going in the loft for the decs and also putting away suitcases x2 and some sleeping bags. Then I am doing the same at MiL with DS2.
Take care all, and hugs to those who need them.

Decluttered my sanity today as we tried to put up the xmas tree and decorations. I would rather decorate a room than do the xmas ones as I need everything to be symmetrical, I just don't know how DH puts up with my "quirks" 🤣 I also washed and dried another 2 loads of washing for DD and binned a set of xmas lights as only half of them are working. Day 2 putting up the tree tomorrow, oh joy 🙄
Roundtuit hugs to you for sharing your unpleasant memories.
Vulpix sorry your sleep is poor at the moment, sadly I'm another one who's waking at silly o'clock with a million things running around in my head. Love the "reverse burglary" comment, it made me chuckle.
Short_bird I hope the wm man comes soon, it's very annoying to just not turn up.
MrsSD I hope the x-ray went well for your DH.
Love and hugs to everyone in TLC carriage, take care all, stay safe and keep warm.

Oooo it's nice to be back chums.
I didn't do my sewing, luckily I fell asleep for a couple of hours. I hate wasting the day like that, and I do it on a regular basis!
It was Christmas lunch today at a local cafe. They sell local crafts. I am very decisive in purchasing anything and had barely walked through the door before I bought some outrageous red earrings. I wore some alleged shoe socks,I don't know what they are actually called. They are supposedly unseen when you wear a shoe. I don't know if it's my feet but they don't work for me. I have had tights material ones and sock ones. Well tomorrow they will all be going in a bag and winging their way elsewhere.
Mr V collected me and off we went to the metropolis. Purchased a silky green blouse for Crimbo functions, some good old pop socks,2 pairs of glittery socks and 2 pairs of nordic pattern socks. Mr V also had a Christmas polo shirt. I also purchased some foodstuffs for the upcoming festivities. Mainly vegan stuff I can't buy locally. spend, spend, spend as Viv Nichols might say!
Oh also got a cat picture to go towards DD1's birthday in February. As she lives so far away I thought I would send her home with Birthday stuff. There is an antique shop at the end of my road and she has admired some planters in there, oddly the only thing that I have ever seen in there that I like too. If they are not too expensive I will get them too. We had planned to visit in January for Up helly ya but with the Mothers situation we don't feel that we can go away at the moment.
More ins than outs today. I have been thinking the past few days about all the clothes that I have. I am actually wearing a jumper now that I had completely forgotten I owned. All unloved sockage will be going tomorrow and possibly other unloved clothes too. I have a marimekko shirt that I have never worn,I bought it from the chazzer, washed it ,ironed it,admire it every time I open the wardrobe, but it isn't my colour.
love to all Vx:11 -
I dropped off two pairs of curtains, one pool cue, a book, a wooden box with art stuff, another book, a bag and a shelf at the cs today. Oh contributed greatly to that haul, except the cue, which was mine but I never use it. There is probably a whole lot more that can go but that will have to wait until next week. @vulpix I was obsessed with marimekko fabric a while back but thankfully didn't translate that into purchasing...it's only happened the once though, everything else is quietly langusihing in my craft sewing boxes waiting to be used up....

Hi all, very frustrating hosp appt for OH. They have no idea what caused the massive blood clot despite several tests, scans etc and, to quote the doc today we are guessing it is due to the sedentary lifestyle of a driving instructor. Now despite having tested negative for diabetes they are suggesting pre diabetes might be a problem so are going to prescribe for that. I will admit weight is a problem but some of the things said today beggar belief but unfortunately I wasn't in the room to argue so we will have to wait and see.
@Mrs SD, no I am not really an accomplished knitter, I just give it a go and a bit like my cooking I make it up as I go along. Normally I wouldn't bother with tension squares etc if I were following a pattern but as I have no pattern and am using a variety of yarn, some don't even have a paper band to give me a clue, I had to see how they knitted up to try to combine them all
. I would like to be an accomplished knitter but I think I'm a way off yet, it's a goal to work towards. I have nearly finished the first cover and am just working on the last bit of the neck, hopefully I will get that done tomorrow and work out how to do the fastenings. If I can conquer my stupidity I will try to post a picture
Not much else done apart from a small shop which has been put away.
Take care everyone11 -
Morning all xx
I brought down a handful of Famous Five books from the RoD this morning and put them on the shelf on the TARDIS - I am now using the TARDIS's inner dimensions to my advantage to store things that I'm keeping. 😊. I'll bring down the rest of the Famous Five books when I go up to get dressed. Little by little 🐢😉
@weenancyinAmerica Thank you. How do you hang the latch hook rugs etc on the wall? Also I'd be worried about black mould developing behind them. Says she who has left them in a shed for eons!!! 🙄
@bit_by_bit I haven't unearthed all the cross stitch kits yet. I started one when I was pregnant with DS. Whistling nonchalantly....thirty years ago. The rest are still unstarted. More projects to keep me out of mischief 😊 And all paid for long ago so that saves me money doesn't it?
@nannywindow Thank you for the hugs. Gratefully received. 🤗
I have 10 Christmas cards still to write and a few presents still to buy. I bought my wrapping paper yesterday and I know where the stash of gift bags is. My tree isn't up yet but even today would be early for me putting it up. So I'd say my Christmas preparations are doing OK. (Just reassuring myself 😉 )
Wishing you all a good day

nannywindow, your DH doesn’t need to put up with your quirks, they are what make you you and therefore he loves them.
Roundtuit, fingers crossed the boiler is an easy and low cost fix.
Mission Control has been moved from the breakfast bar and into the bureau desk in little bedroom where it belongs. There are still too many lists but they will go once I have sorted them out and delegated what I can to DSis. Lots of papers and a few photos gone in the last few days.I have decamped to OH’s this morning to write Christmas cards whilst DSis gives my place a clean and puts up decs. She is a superstar and has turned up with frozen portions of HM lentil soup and ribolita. OH and I have booked to see Christmas lights trail at a NT property on Sunday evening so we will take a flask of sis’s soup with us.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅10 -
@roundtuit I have a book with a bookmark in it which I was reading the week my DD was born. I have left it there but it took me years to get to read it again.
@oceanspirit, I have a Mission Control which probably should be moved upstairs too. It is in the back lounge (dining room) and DH is on the 'puter in the backroom all the time so we talk to each other through the open door. It is ALWAYS messy. I should adopt a clean desk policy maybe as we talk to each other more this way.
Nothing tor report yet today. Got an online sale to post, change to bank and decs to get out of the loft. More pressie wrapping.
Last night I spent hours rehashing my finances as I see a large family loan coming on the horizon. DS1's shower base cracked but they actually need to get the whole bathroom done. Removing the base will start the tiles coming off the wall and they have only 1 floorboard underneath the shower. Anyway. I have leant them money before and they have always paid back. Its just a big chunk I would rather not let go. They can't afford a proper loan.
Righty ho. Time to get on with stuff. Have a good day allWife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. I am back using my phone again.Mr V has gone to record an interview for radio with a local lady who has been picked for the special Olympic cycling team. She saw cycling on the special olympics a few years ago and decided that she wanted to do that and she has. Amazing girl. ❤️20 pairs of socks in a bag. Also some vintage Xmas wrapping paper that my Mum has given me. Whilst putting jewellery away I found a Manchester bee broach that can go.I am in Santa’s grotto. I always get some chocolate treats for my step son’s lodger/friend. He is a fellow paramedic and from Slovakia, just a sister left there now. He is such a nice bloke and if DD1 was single I would be match making. He was telling me that in Slovakia they have a Christmas trout. They pick it up a few days before Christmas and keep it in the bath!
I hope you get your heating sorted roundtuit. It was -3 here this morning. I am afraid my heating is definitely on. It has warmed up outside to 0. I used to devour Enid Blyton books as a girl. Famous five were my favourite. It is so disappointing to hear as an adult that Enid was a thoroughly horrid person, even by yesteryear’s standards.I need to put the wrapping paraphernalia away and get the sewing machine out…again. Also need to shorten the new Christmas blouse. Being vertically challenged, long shirts look wrong on me. In fact if I had the legs it would make a nice dress!
Bit by bit, those wooden birds were from my Mother’s. Wouldn’t want anyone to think they were mine. She made them. One of her hobbies was woodworking.Anyway, tea break over.Vx:7
