Working long hours just sitting working from about 8 to 6.30/7 and not taking a break and not really.moving frogs so feel abit snowed under. Getting someone else around for carpet quote. Want wool as warm and have v v cold house but can't imagine moving stuff from room to room. Haven't sorted kitchen yet!
Did rearrange an appointment and get some work frogsbit don't think I'll get a day off work. Need to book a day next week to make sure I don't lose leave and think will take a block or time between Xmas and new year to get stuff sorted although can be good to sort work folders and catch up . Hey ho have to count blessings when you hear all the news. Take care all x11 -
Hi all, well saturday I collected another bag of apples and did a small shop. OH decided we were having a takeaway for tea so no cooking done or washing up. I spent most of the day watching the football
Sunday OH finally tackled the sink and I did a bit of internet shopping. 1 item definitely on its way but I am not sure about the 2nd item as the laptop was playing up, or their website was playing up so the payment was taking ages to go through and I decided to cancel it and try again another day, at which point it said it was processing my payment. So far I have not had a confirmation email but it might have gone into my spam folder and I haven't checked there yet.
I watched some more footballwhile knitting. I am trying to make hot water bottle covers with the wool I got from the cs. As it is various colours and thickness I did knit up tension squares of the individual balls and a few combining different yarns to gauge the thickness etc. It took a while for me to decide what to do and I had to frog the first attempt as I had somehow got a twist on the circular needle which I didn't notice as I was too busy watching the football
. Anyhow I changed the design a bit and cracked on and so far it seems to be ok although it is taking a lot less yarn than I thought it would so I'll have to think of something else to make to use it up.
Today OH went out to the accountant and the bank and came home with coffee for us and lovely neighbour. I had just finished making the crumble mixture but not started peeling the apples so they were left for a while as we visited LN. It was time to start tea when we got back so I made the ratatoille planned for saturday with jackets and veggie sausage. Loads left so some will go in the freezer and some I will have for my tea on Wed when OH is out with the other driving instructors. After tea I finished the crumbles and now have another 10 portions in the freezer for us, 2 more portions for a friend and 2 portions for LN as well as some in the fridge for us tomorrow. We do love a fruit crumble. The sink is full again but after I put the rubbish out for the bin collection tomorrow and wiped down I just got on with my knitting while watching the football highlights and now I am off to bed as OH has a hospital appt tomorrow morning and I am the chauffeur.
@roundtuit, I love the fish. I did quite a lot of latch hook when I was younger and particularly remember a rug I made for my bedroom, no idea what happened to it as I left it in my bedroom when I left home to go to college and it just disappeared
Take care everyone9 -
Good Moaning. I have had about 3 hours sleep, a regular thing for me. Craft club Christmas lunch today, hope I can enjoy it, I am rubbish with lack of sleep.
I remembered some more things that left the house. A tub of putty, some Christmas coasters and an egg storage box. There must be more but as I can't even remember them, I didn't need to keep them.
I finished DIL's crochet blanket for her birthday,I also made her another scrunchie from the remaining fabric from the silk scarf.
I have been thinking about what I need to concentrate on in the future now that I am at maintenance level. My hot spots are clothes and craft materials.
This year was allegedly a no spend year for clothes. I started well but have bought some stuff recently, mostly from the chazzer. I have put weight on and just feel like I have nothing to wear. When will I learn that my weight yoyos and to not get rid of everything when my weight changes.
Craft supplies, I swear I am the victim of a reverse burglary where someone has broken in and brought more things. I beaver away at using it all up and it never seems to get any less. Before Christmas I need to make 2 bags. One for DIL and one for DD1. They are cut out but cba getting the sewing machine out. Honestly it would be less than an hours work. There is the small matter of the sashiko quilt, also cut out and ready to go but it just isn't calling me. Might knit some socks instead! What I must do is make hot water bottle covers. I promise to do something to lessen my stash. In fact I am going to get up now and get the sewing machine out!

Morning all xx
@vulpix your reverse burglary theory made me lol. 😁
@Liverpool_Anne I latch hooked rugs and wall hangings when I was in my late teens and twenties. I think they are all in Shed of Doom 1 ( I have 2 SoDs 😱) which is definitely not good....but for rugs you need floor. Nuf said. Oh, so my parents' house is not the only one performing vanishing tricks!
My theory re my hoarding tendencies is that when I was a child beloved items would simply disappear. My grandad gave me a book with no front cover. Lots of stories in it. I loved that book. It disappeared. The gent that Mum cleaned for gave me a small globe. It had a dint in it but I loved my globe. It disappeared 😕. Mum said it must have fallen out of the window. For some reason Mum disliked the globe. She didn't like it so I couldn't have it. But I didn't work that out until much later in life. Bear in mind that Mum, a quite intelligent person, didn't believe that I needed glasses because SHE could see OK. In therapy in later years I said it was as though Mum didn't know where she finished and I started. I think there's a name for it. She obviously had her own demons.
Ooops sorry. Decluttering some bad memories there.
I was determined the same thing was not going to happen to DS. Hence I'm sorting though his toddler toys...and he's thirty at the end of the month!!!
Bananas In Pyjamas 1997 Annual is my latest find. And an aeroplane with small people and suitcases. 😊
Love to all

Morning all. Think I may be finally allowed to leave the TLC carriage today as I may have finally tested negative for Covid. Hope I didn't infect anyone in there - I did keep my distance and was masked at all times, honest!
I think you've inspired me to make up some crumbles this week @Liverpool_Anne as we have a few apples leftover from last week and a bunch of tinned fruit to use up so could be an easy solution.
DH has done all of his Christmas shopping online so we've had a lot of boxes and packaging to dispose of that was cluttering up the space by the back door. It's been decluttered as far as the backseat of the car 😆 as there wasn't much space in our local recycling centre so will see if I can dispose of it at the next one I pass on Thursday. I've also set myself the challenge of organising under our kitchen and bathroom sinks by the end of the week. Both annoy me every time I open the doors and I just need to actually take everything out and put it back in a logical order. Also want to clean the oven this week too. I have Thursday and Friday off of work so plenty of time to do those three things I think.
Hope everyone has a good day and wrap up warm - it's a bit colder out there today!

2 items:a draped neck T-shirt that was annoying to irona pair of jeans that fit dd2 perfectly around the lower legs, but could fit another child in the upper halfWe had our St Nicolas celebration last night, and it was fun. This year for the first time we drew names-and-wishlists from the hat, which meant that I had only to focus on 1 person instead of on all 4 of us. 1 funny poem for the person you drew was mandatory (either discussing the gift, or some characteristic of the person), and we all managed! The gifts were well-thought-out and won't take up much space, won't need any maintenance, and some will be used up in the next few weeks or months. Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5910

Monday I did nothing again apart from knitting, dealing with mail & watching TV. DH planned his trip to the hospital for his X-ray & is tacking on a journey travelling through more London Underground & DLR stations. Dinner was chicken & mushroom risotto. DSis wudupa 🙂
Tuesday is a bright sunny day but very cold. DH headed off before 9:00 a.m.

Good work TC77 👏 even though not as much as you would have liked. I empathise with your conundrum - taking holiday & decluttering at home OR working Christmas to New Year & catching up on work emails/paperwork 😔 I must admit that I nearly always went the route of working because it was a lot quieter - fewer people in the office & far fewer phone calls 😉 Also, the company I worked for used to give us an extra 3 months to use up our holiday entitlement or, if you were close to retirement, you could carry it forward & not have to work out your full notice. Sadly once the company came under new management it was use it or lose it 🙁 Turned out to be a very short sighted policy 😉
Don’t you just love it when your OH decides to get a takeaway Liverpool_Anne 😊 Knitting & watching football - seems a good way to spend your time 😉 You are definitely a more accomplished knitter than I am - I never knit tension squares 🥲 not even when I used to knit baby clothes 🤣 All this talk of fruit crumbles is ‘almost enough’ to get me baking 😉 I hope OH’s hospital appointment goes well 🤞
Sorry to hear that you are not getting enough sleep vulpix 😔 Great decluttering even if you cannot remember everything that has gone out 👏 Maintenance decluttering - something for me to aspire to 🙂 Loving the idea that you suffer from ‘reverse burglary’ when it comes to craft supplies 🤣 Good luck with reducing your supplies over the coming 12 months 🍀
Oh roundtuit 😥 how awful for you. Very pleased that you have found a safe place to declutter bad memories & I can see why you kept DS’s childhood bits & pieces 😊
Pleased to hear that you are now Covid free ruby_eskimo & that the TLC Carriage worked it’s magic 🙂 I have had no reports of anyone being infected so you obviously quarantined effectively - thank you 😉 Hopefully you can empty the car very soon 🤞 Good luck with your planned tidying & decluttering 🍀, as well as the oven cleaning which reminds me I need to clean mine 😔 I did promise myself that I would get a professional oven clean this year but never quite got around to booking it 🙁 I am currently considering my mantras for 2023 so I think that might be at the top of my list 🤔
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏
Siebrie, perhaps the jeans were really jodhpurs 😉 Your early St Nicholas celebration sounds like great fun 🤩
Right, a bit of knitting whilst watching Heartbeat & having a coffee then really need to get my ‘arris in gear 😉MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🥇 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

@Roundtuit - you don't need floors for latch-it hook projects. They are really good on the walls as insulation. We use them more for that than on the floors. Any place your walls feel cold to the touch could use some insulation over them and rugs or quilts are perfect.10
