Engineer due tomorrow to replace door hinge on washer (finally) and monitoring a leak in the communal hallway making sure it isn't anything too serious till someone can come and check it out - it's a slow drip that hasn't been noticeable till this weekend.
Off to finish tidying the far corner of the kitchen for the engineer.

Energy shifter - try square breathing, in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4. It gives your brain something to think about and getting all the old stale breath out helps get fresh breath in. Doing it as slowly as you can calms the nervous system and brings heart rate down. Which makes your body feel better. I was in a right old state the other week waiting in a wee hospital room, I shut my eyes and did the breathing sitting up straight in the chair, feet on floor. Certainly helped me and they said I was the easiest patient they had had in that morning. Maybe they say that to everyone but I felt more relaxed. Good luck tomorrow

Welcome back @Natty68 We all get like that sometimes. Even doing one small thing can set yourself on the road to doing more . I often start in a corner or one of the smaller spaces e.g. the porch.
I hope you are feeling better soon @Mrs_Salad_Dodger
I hope all goes well tomorrow @EnergyShifter
Sorry to hear about your difficulties @weenancyinAmerica but good to hear of your achievemnets.
Hugs to all and their loved ones.
No decluttering this weekend as DD has been visiting. I did do most of the Christmas shopping with her today and have been doing taxi service for family members.
I have a bone density scan tomorrow and will be having lunch with an old friend.
I need to now kick myself up the pants as I have slowed down somewhat. Progress is glacial but I suppose it is still progress.

@daisy_1571 thank you so much. I know the problem but couldn't work out the solution. Love the idea of plants on the upper shelves -(ones that trail and don't need much watering - recommendations welcome), Esp as I've decided to just get painted white as can't work out colours and easy to touch up. Really excited and they will detract from a few of the boxes.
Also agree about square breathing, my daughter was taught it to manage pain, and each in/out you imagine drawing a side of the square so you have to picture something as well as breath.
@weenancyinAmerica sorry to hear about your little dog and that so much is going on.
3 items from my dad's sold, best of the sledges (abit cheap) a new fleece, and a hostess warming drawer which we have to post somehow. Refugee hub want my lamp but didn't have room this weekend so will look out more things to take.
Interviewing tomorrow so hopefully find a lovely person/people to join the team, fingers crossed.
Having to be realistic that not where I hoped to be on the decluttering house and stress by the end of the year when it started but then that's part of life and counting blessings and not doing too bad at what is a horrible time for so many people.
Hope all goes well tomorrow @EnergyShifter and Mrs SD and others poorly are on the mend.
Hugs to those in need. X11 -
sorry about your pup @weenancyinAmerica Glad you're better mrs SD....

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV during daylight hours 😉 AB2 playing zero - 20/9/2022
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedSunday it rained on & off all day. Definitely feeling better today 🙂 I knitted 3rd ear warmer headband & started a 4th. I also wrote all my Christmas cards (for posting) BEFORE it becomes a frog 😉 I will post tomorrow bearing in mind all the up & coming strikes 😔 The 3rd load of washing has been done & tumble dried. Dinner was risotto cakes. Wudupa.
2031 - 2033 Kitchen & office recycling, drinks cans - recycled
2034 Kitchen detritus binnedThank you for the compliment re my knitting, daisy_1571 😊 I was also a doting aunt when my sister had her son - knitted all sorts of clothing - cardigans, jumpers, pram sets, mittens & booties. However the knitting project I was most proud of was a lacy 2-ply white christening gown on fine needles. It took me months & there was an awful lot of swearing as I kept going wrong 😑 Like you I much prefer knitting with larger needles 😄Excellent work QueenJess 👏 I think the Room of Doom should wait until next year 😉
So sorry to hear about wee dog, weenancy 🙁 I really wish I could wave a magic wand to turn your roommates into helpful & prompt paying individuals 😉 However excellent decluttering at the library 👏 So many achievements and congratulations on your Kindness Award - well deserved 👏 Good luck with Project Clean Kitchen 🍀
EnergyShifter, hope you get a good night’s sleep 🛌 & hope the op goes well. Thank you for the lovely compliment about my knitting 👏
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏Thanks daisy_1571 👏 Never heard of square breathing but sounds rather useful - especially if it concentrates the mind on something other than what you are worrying about 🙂Lovely post bit_by_bit 😊 A busy weekend & congratulations on doing your Christmas shopping 👏 Progress however glacial is still progress 🙂Sounds like daisy_1571 has given you some inspiration TC77 😊 Great decluttering 👏 Hopefully decluttering stress has been the more successful of your decluttering challenges 🤞MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🥇 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

@TC77 painting white is a good idea, if you can get hold of baskets to hold things maybe even fit the plastic box inside, aesthetically it may look better also glass jars look nice. Spider plant is easy to grow and can tolerate a bit of neglect they are also easy to propagate. Or cheap artificial ones look in home bargains or B and M ,poundland . Mix in with real and you can’t tell.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.9

@wort thanks I think the mix of artificial and real is a great idea. On the other side of the kitchen I have all glass jars it's for bulky things I've used plastic. I did think of putting some nice lining paper or picture inside the box and label what's in..plastic see through was partly so I know what is in them!
Cat has had accident on my rucksack - left on the floor so a reminder to Dd2 and me to keep things off the floor. Vet visit next week so will check if underlying issues as accident on Dd2 floor a couple of weeks ago.! Wondering whether can put bag in wash says no but cold wash may be ok.
