I've actually decluttered something!! Decided we are not going to do any more carboots this year so need to clear a lot of stuff from in-laws garage.
Bag of clothes to a friend for her grandson. 2 massive boxes of children's toys, games and books will be donated to local church for its fair next Saturday. I'm am going to count individual items between now and the end of the year to keep me motivated. I'm aiming for 500 as no idea what my yearly target was or where I'm at with it.

Today I had a big burst of energy and decided to tackle a job that had been outstanding for 3 years - re-hang a bifold door to section off kitchen from dining room. Very long story short after more than an hour of trying I realised that we needed new fixings and DS declared he'd never liked the door there anyway - so it is now in the front garden for someone to collect and I'm going to get a door curtain instead! I channelled my frustration into a good couple of hours of decluttering and now feel ready to enjoy the rest of the afternoon chilling out.
961. Ironed on curtain hem
962. detritus from garden storage

DS and GF called.
They left with DS's latest bag of 'stuff' plus a bag containing his football boots that I'd found in the kitchen.
Every little helps

Every little certainly does help roundtuit.Mr V fixed the magnet catch on the electric meter box.I emptied the junk drawer from the kitchen table onto the sitting room floor. All sorts put away with their mates. Bits of stuff either recycled or bin. A bag of used batteries put in the car for next time we go shopping.New batteries put in a cat toy. Will give it to DD1 next time we meet, they have a kitten.I have wrapped the secret Santa gifts. I have put them in a box with the kitten toy and some Victorian horse brasses that were in the drawer. Anything else I find for the family I will put in the box so I don’t forget. The horse brasses were old when my Grandad used them on his heavy farm horse back in the day. I had a saddler mount them on leather straps as they would have been years ago when I found them in my Dad’s shed after he died. DS and DIL have an ancient cottage with a huge inglenook fireplace. I have asked and DIL would like them for the cottage. DS has no say in interior design 🤣. I also have a brass top campaign table and a Persian rug for them in the loft. I do love them but have no place for them in this house.2 hours leaf sweeping today. Bin full for now.Vx:9

Seriously struggling at the moment with life and just too much work that is irritating me. So no proper decluttering, however I did manage to get rid of a pile of stuff on buy nothing, have filled a charity bag with things that were previously just piled up and done the mending pile.
I did a little bit of tidying today and did find some decluttering bits just from putting things away.

@QueenJess sorry you're struggling although sounds as if you are getting rid of stuff - do be kind to yourself.
Sold 2 items so they are packaged up using some of packaging which has stayed low in quantity. Tidied on top of my chest of drawers (one of them) but things just moved elsewhere. Went up to the Remembrance Day commemorations which was very moving, and good to not just be at home getting overwhelmed by stuff. Odd buttons and things lying out in the button box.
Interesting about cleaning fragile items. I've a 1910s muslin dress which has rust stains and read about lemon juice. Not sure they will come out or what to do with the dress. My grandmother's and I wore to a dance when I was about 16.
A little area each day or even some days is still moving forward.10 -

its been a productive few days. Friday saw me visiting The Shard for afternoon tea for a friend’s birthday. The view was amazing,
Tea was lovely, with Simon who not only was a very amusing waiter, but also an exemplary duty manager.
Saturday saw the remaining paving slabs lifted ahead of the Sparky this week.Today was a tidying day. I’ve also made a batch (about 4 dolmio jars worth) of slow cooker arrabiata sauce to go with stuffed pasta. It tastes pretty amazing, even if I say so myself.
Most importantly the AWOL photo of my great uncle has resurfaced. He had, as expected, been hiding in plain sight. Today was rather appropriate day for him to resurface as the ship he was on was torpedoed in 1943.I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)
