@Floss I don't think it's the wondering what's in the bags and boxes as I'm quite enjoying (re)discovering old treasures. It could be the sheer enormity of what I've started. There's soooo much stuff. It's overwhelming if I think about it. But I can sort one box at a time....and eventually it'll be done. 'Eventually ' being at least a year down the line. Definitely a marathon. Good to hear that I'm not the only person being visited by the random book fairy 😊
@vulpix - I don't think there will be Pokemon cards. I don't remember DS having the cards. Every now and then I'm having a quick check on Google to see if something is worth a fortune. The Simpsons figures are selling for £5 each on ebay, but I don't do ebay and tbh I cba. I just want stuff gone.
I'll be taking a car boot full of all the cs donations to my meet with L tomorrow. L can then pass on to her sister to sell in the church's thrift shop. 4 bags and a box to pass on - that's going to be satisfying. Then I can start collecting again.
I went to see H this afternoon and couldn't miss the opportunity to get something out of the house. She was quite surprised to be greeted with a bottle of wine 😊. It was a birthday gift but I don't drink wine. H does. 😊
Every little helps.

Oops a daisy - haven’t posted for a couple of days 😬
Monday started dry & I managed to get out & about without getting wet. DH went out to pick up some bark & pumpkins + steaks for DSis’s birthday dinner (Tuesday). I left shortly after him & bussed to Canary Wharf - whole list of things to do 😉 Firstly called in at bank to get cash + bank cheques. Then into Bo*ts to pick up my new glasses even though they hadn’t called 😔 Apparently they were waiting until the 3rd pair turned up (these had been sent to a specialist lens maker with a lead time of 6 weeks) say what 🤔 Anyway tried both pairs & no adjustments were necessary as they fitted perfectly 🙂 Next stop M*S to pick up a couple of desserts & a bag of own brand chunky chips. No staffed tills so had to use a self serve till 😠 - I dislike them with a vengeance as I have yet to use one successfully 😔However, it was my lucky day - no problems, the machine didn’t tell me off at any point 😉 Then headed back to Bo*ts to get a flu jab - first failure of my trip out - they had shut up shop even though the sign outside had said they were open 😔 Left the mall, posted cards etc & caught bus to As*a to purchase sweets for the trick or treaters. Bus home to find that DH had been home for ages & had carved two pumpkins 👏 He had also bought sweets - we have enough for at least 4 Hallowe’ens 🤣We put the pumpkins out with large tea lights at about 5:00 p.m. Slow start but in the end had about 20 trick or treaters - several of whom braved the torrential downpours in between dry spells 😄 Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans & tinned tomatoes 🤤 Wudupa. Shame that I couldn’t get my flu jab but all in all a successful day.
Tuesday has been a very wet day - good job we weren’t taking my DSis out for a birthday meal 😉 She loved the flowers we had delivered & received a total of 3 cards plus phone calls from her son & our brother 🙂 I also bought her some Italian nougat & chocolate covered Brazil nuts. Her friend sent her a book that she had co-written (gritt-i-tude) - sort of a self help book? Dinner was steak, mushrooms, tomatoes, peas & chunky chips. DSis also had a glass of wine - after all it was her birthday 😂Chocolate eclair for afters. Wudupa.
1861 - 1866 Kitchen recycling x 2, drinks cans x 2, magazine, plastic bottle - recycled
1867 - 1875 Kitchen detritus x 2, office & lr detritus, old glasses, 4 non-elastic hair elastics - binned
1876 Glasses case - CS bag
roundtuit, we all need to become farmers 😉 As to birthdays, I have 18 including mine in November & December 😱 fortunately only 2 little gifts & 2 special dinners required 😉 I will join you in the bah humbug club re C….. 😂
Poor doggie, they really suffer when the clocks change, florianatwobob 🙁
Great work roundtuit 👏 I buy all my birthday cards in January & write them over the next 2/3 months. All I have to do then is check the posting date which I mark where the stamp goes, add a stamp & post. Lot of work at the beginning of the year but means I never miss a birthday - although sometimes I am late posting 😉
Double summertime sounds horrendous, grandmanerd 😬 However the idea of different time zones in the U.K. sounds even worse 😱
Loving the dog stories 🙂 vulpix, is it just labradors that think anytime is dinner time 😉 Please continue with the TLC regime 🙏 How long have you been waiting to see the dr?
Sorry to hear that you have been feeling ropey basketcase 😔 Are you working to the 30 Day plan? Sounds like it is working well - you have done so much sorting, tidying, reorganising & decluttering 👏 I am very impressed so THREE Gold Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️ are on their way - kitchen; hall cupboard & bathroom; clothing 🤩 You did make me smile reading about your rabbit liking both the shredder & vacuum 😊
Great work bit_by_bit 👏 I bet DiL prefers useful bits & pieces rather than more clutter which is what toys & clothing are 😉😉 Excellent work dealing with frogs 👏
Wow grandmanerd just 🤩 Brilliant work - you must be exhausted 😩
You really are on a roll, roundtuit 👏 Clutter is no longer safe in your home 😂 Excellent decluttering 👏
EnergyShifter, your persistence paid off 😊 I will bet you didn’t recognise the doctor 😂 Excellent work 👏
Great work grandmanerd 👏 How marvellous that you are still in love with your pantry shelves 😊
Keep up the good work TC77 👏 I am a firm believer that the more you plan, the easier it is to get started 🙂 Long cardigans look very smart 😊
Well done for cutting yourself some slack & working through your anxiety roundtuit 👏 You got a lot done & I do rather like the word “rammel” - so descriptive 😊
Excellent work GrannyKate 👏
You are putting us all to shame roundtuit 😉 BUT we can all live vicariously through your many decluttering successes 😊 No bag or box is safe from your tender ministrations 👏 Excellent work - another box emptied 👏 Sorry to hear that Dr Who has parked his/her TARDIS around your home 😉bad enough to have your own clutter without having all Dr Who’s clutter to wade through 😔
Excellent decluttering daisy_1571 👏 especially the long standing frogs 👏
Floss, sounds like there is more than one random book fairy 😥
Great work vulpix 👏 not only sales but also a social life 👏
roundtuit, How satisfying that you will soon have an empty car boot & the contents of the bags & boxes will find new homes 👏
Excellent decluttering EnergyShifter 👏 Another lovely word “coddling” as long as you are using the appropriate definition 😂
Good work with the cs bags TC77 👏 Hope the hospital appointment was nothing serious 🤞

Morning all xx
10 to 5 is obviously waking up time now. I lay planning this can go, that can go. And get up around 6.30 am. I've supped my first brew - and read a magazine so that it can be recycled. 😊
I poked a hole in the next bin bag in the RoD to find out why it was heavy. As you do after the first hernia inducing foray! Books. One of which seems to be a self help book for procrastinators. 🤣 Random Therapy Book fairy has been busy up there too then!
First job this morning is to rearrange cs donations into manageable 'portions' so that L's sister doesn't get a hernia too! Then put them in the car boot ready to go. I will get dressed before I go outside - don't want to frighten the neighbour's children 😉 Or indeed frighten the neighbours 🤣

Morning all - only just got up which is 3 hours later than I normally get up. I have 9 birthdays in November which seems a lot Mrs SD but only two (GCs) need money gifts.
1193/1194 New phones to two very happy GDs
1195 Monthly banking accounts done
1196 Played around until I got my banking app to work - needed upgrade or something
1197 Closed savings account on line and moved money - £2 interest paid!
1198 New savings account opened on line with money from above - better interest rate
1199 Attending meeting on line which wasn't as bad as I thought and only 1 hour
1200 Notes typed up from meeting and sent to secretary for committee meeting next week
1201 Chased contractors up which was one of my frogs but missed call and can't get them again now
1202 Emails read, sorted, filed and deleted
1203 been doing some surveys etc and downloaded £22 in Mr A vouchers and £12 cash - every little helps
1204 Cleaned small bedroom - lots of detritus left by the art work of two small girls was binned. Ive left a small pile of 'things' on table for GD4 to look through and see is she wants them.
1205 Fridge emptied and sorted. Some composted and some things frozen.
Think I'll save my vouchers to get one of those heated clothes airers - has anyone got one?
Family History meeting this afternoon in town so will go in bank and attempt to change my landline number - cannot see any way of doing it on line.
Not getting far with decluttering actual things and dust from living with concrete floor is depressing. Three pumpkins to decide what to do with - guess I can make soup. I have some carrots that need using up as well.
