Saturday saw me tackling the ironing mountain (again). Other house jobs having got in the way of me facing my nemesis had resulted in me getting perilously close to running out of clothes. I now have to tackle the hanging up clothes being ironed but they are far fewer in number.DSis, who I swear lives for an empty washing basket (which is partly why the ironing pile rarely disappears), decided to spare me the torture of her increasing the pile and tackled the garden instead.Last night I was at a Halloween Party and finally crawled home at 2am (in old money). Today I cooked some apples in the slow cooker, found some bits to leave the house (where I’ve found upgraded items) and pottered about tidying.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

What a lovely cake Mrs SD. Too good to eat. Your family get togethers are a tonic for you all.Floriana impressive harvest. I have given up trying to grow my own with the exception of strawberries and rhubarb. I either had a poor harvest or a glut of stuff nobody likes! I hope your plant thinks about what it hasn’t done and pulls its socks up.We have lost a complete day. Mr V worked last night getting in about 2am. We have both slept most of the day. He has gone off to work tonight good as gold, an hour early 🤣🤣🤣
I haven’t felt on top from for the past few weeks. Hopefully I can get sorted next week and get some frogs eaten at least.Vx:11 -
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger that cake is beautiful!
Today I did one box in DS’s room (well technically he did it with me supervising), then cleaned out the cot in DD’s room (including the drawers) and her bedside table. Just got clothes to do in DS’s room and got the rest of DD’s room to do.
Also, after a long consideration of how to arrange the kitchen better, I finally concluded I needed another shelf in the plates/bowls cupboard so I could also put the cups in there. It should hopefully free up room to move my baking stuff somewhere better and eventually be able to see what I have. It’s all going to take a long time to do as I have a lot of stuff to move around, but I want to love my kitchen again and not dread opening anything! I found a shelf that would fit, went to B&Q and put it in the cupboard. Still not put everything back in the cupboard though and I need a plate organiser that is coming on Friday. But at least the kitchen is started. The worst areas are the kids rooms and the kitchen, so a good start. Sadly the room I work in is again the room of doom whilst I spring clean. Is it ever possible not to make a bigger mess whilst spring cleaning before it gets better?!
No decluttering in the kitchen yet, but I am expecting a few things to go as I slowly work through everything. I need to declutter generally as I keep picking up free stuff from my local buy nothing for the kids! They’ll definitely be having a good Xmas and winter/spring birthdays!

Pile of things brought in put in a corner to deal with in the dark winter nights (will arrive soon).
2 items sold and I to return so all will be posted tomorrow.
Managed to unsubscribe from a few things. Organised a few errands sensibly - collect paint, a diary for work to be organised, meds for DD1 (fingers crossed she will take as hates any medicine) and swim to declutter some stress, and short training course for work. Going to tidy my desk and write list for tomorrow.
Popped round to a neighbours as her son's birthday and so want my house to be presentable so I can invite her in for coffee/tea - seems some way off at the moment!
Lost a card with the address of someone I've been meaning to write to for ages
Also deleted some photos and emails! chipping away slowly!10 -

Excellent work clearing your ironing florianatwobob 👏 Sounds like a great party 🎉
I love family get togethers, vulpix 😊 as you say a real tonic 🙂 Sadly my rhubarb was a real disappointment this year, so I am a bit jealous 😉 Hopefully the longer sleep will help to get you back in tip top form 🤞
Thanks QueenJess - my cousin’s wife is very talented 🙂 Sounds like DS’s training is complete if he just needs you to supervise 👏 Great work not only planning but also starting the kitchen cupboard rearrangement 👏 Sadly, I think a bigger mess before it gets better is the only conclusion when spring cleaning or decluttering 😔
Slow but steady progress TC77 👏 Hopefully the tidying/decluttering will be done quicker than you think so you can invite your neighbour round 😉
Good work EnergyShifter 👏 and well done on making time for a bit of TLC - first the walk & then catching up with a friend 🙂

Morning all xx
I wish they would leave the clocks alone. Yesterday I was discombobulated all day. Today I'm up, laundry is sorted, first load is swishing, and, according to the clock, it's only 10 past 7. And have you ever tried explaining to a persistent budgie that what was 10 o'clock and bedtime yesterday is only 9 o'clock today so not bedtime yet. (Although it might be bedtime at 9 o'clock tonight as I'll have been awake forever by then 🙄)
I was feeling overwhelm laid in bed, so I've made my brew, grabbed a notebook and roughly sketched in the beginning of my week. So many birthdays in Nov, Dec, Jan, I was feeling very 'can we cancel Christmas this year?' ish. It's the same every year. I'm spending money I haven't got to buy people I never see things they don't want. Not entirely true but my bah humbug head takes over and skew-wiffs reality. It always works out fine, but I always seem to have to battle through this initial 'argh I can't do it' wasteland first ... it's tedious. All is well and all is well, and all manner of things shall be well. And breathe...
Does decluttering anxiety with another brew count? 🤔

@roundtuit we used to have an insistent dog who mithered for his dinner when the clocks changed. We used to have to stagger his dinner and bed time wee back to the ‘right time’. Breakfast was less of an issue as that was mostly self service.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

@florianatwobob we compromised (I gave in) at 9.45. I think we'll aim for 9.30 tonight. Going the wrong way but I'm upskittled too. And then gradually work it back to 10. Sounds like a plan.
Two loads of washing are now draped on the airer. It's not raining here - but (as my mum used to say) the paths aren't drying! So airer it is then.
I'm dressed. A bowl of pots is soaking. I've written P's card and wrapped his presents. It's his birthday tomorrow. And I've written a cheque for S for the groceries she's picked up for me this month.
P&S calling for coffee every Monday morning- so they can take their bits with them.

I'm going to WULTD, then sort through birthday card stash and list the cards I need to buy for Nov, Dec, Jan birthdays.

I'm old enough to remember the year they tried double Summertime and the poor Scots farmers complaining their cows didn't go by the clock and they felt as if they were getting up before they'd gone to bed to do the milking. We all have our limits. I've done lots of jobs with 5 o'clock and 6 o'clock starts but a 4 am start was a step too far (even after I trained myself to get out of bed, washed and dressed in minimal time and half sleepwalking).8
