Mrs SD it's not just Labradors that think any time is dinner time,it's me too!
It is a very sad tale of me trying to get a GP appointment,it must be well over 2 weeks now. I can feel that resting is helping but I still need to see a Dr. I have applied to move to a new practise, they will contact me when I have been processed.
Our family Birthdays are all January to April, with a couple of rogue ones thrown in. The young people don't send cards, Mr V and I gave it up for each other several years ago,it is quite liberating and I don't miss it. I have been thinking about culling sending some Christmas cards this year. I will still continue to send to elderly people, some I inherited when I married Mr V,and I have never met them!
I have done some of my Christmas shopping. We are doing secret Santa and I have bought 2 things from DD1's Bf wish list. Spend is £30. Again this is liberating. Nobody wastes money on stuff that is just a panic buy. The "kids" have booked an air B n B near us from the 28th for a few days. We will have our Christmas there,Grandma included.Extreme forward planning by me 25 years ago was to instill the love of cooking in my kids! My contribution will just be a requested sherry trifle and a key lime trifle.
Where I live is a little out of the way with very few shops. There are towns and cities within a 25 mile radius. Yesterday was trip to the west, today a longer trip to the south to a bigger place on the black trouser hunt.Oh dear we might have to call at the pub on the way home for a snifter with some friends.
No decluttering for me until I have managed to at least speak a health professional. Clothes are calling,I even dreamt about it last night.

I sat and untangled the strings of 3 yoyos and a conker. Yes. Seriously. A conker on a string - that will be Autumn 2002 vintage then. Anyhoo - after all that untangling ( which I find therapeutic tbh) that's:
3 yoyos - bin
1 conker - bin
🤣
Toy mobile phone - bin
2 pieces of elastic - bin

Bloody hell. Scuse me. Just opened a small wooden box to see what was inside. I was half-thinking it might be one of those jumping bean things. Whatever was inside had hatched and was moving. 😱. Box hastily dropped I can tell you. It's a wobbly ladybird toy. My heart is still going like the clappers. Dangerous this decluttering lsrk innit?

@roundtuit I’m loving reading your lists, well done
i got DD a spider in one of those little boxes a few years back as a joke in her stocking 😂9 -
Roundtuit Sorry but the jumping ladybird story made me laugh out loud!! And you are excused the expletive, think I may have said something even stronger under my breath 🤐
Yesterday I had a lovely afternoon watching DGD in her horse riding lesson, she's come on leaps and bounds since I last saw her and smiled all the time. DD brought us back to chez nous for a fish and chip tea from the chippie, then all the wrappings and trays etc. were cleared and binned. There was lots of silliness, laughter and chatting, I can't put a price on that as it brightened up our day. DGS, as usual did the back-to-back test with me to check if he'd grown much. Not half, he's now a good foot taller than me 😱 or perhaps I'm shrinking, or maybe it's a bit of both 😉 😂
Out into the recycling went 3 empty cardboard delivery boxes, the contents of which were wrapped and passed over to DGD for her 11th birthday. 2 "not fit for purpose" takeaway tubs and a large ice cream tub have also gone. The washing basket was emptied and the contents washed and dried this week, no chance of doing anything outdoors today, it's lashing down with rain, extremely windy and as dark as the hobs of H*ll, and it's only 3pm 😧
Vulpix I hope you get your GP appointment sorted asap and well done on the xmas presents, I haven't even started mine or even thinking about them.
MrsSD sorry you didn't get your flu jab. Belated birthday to your DSis.
Take care fellow declutterers, hugs to anyone who needs one.
nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently8
