Little bit of a lull in proceedings today. I've done a small amount of 'sorting' by putting things back in their rightful place, which has freed up a lot of room in our bedroom. From that I've worked out a couple of areas that are next on the list. Mrs SJ has finally posted off the huge bag of wool that was being donated to a lady who knits for charity, so that's a big item gone from the hallway (we ended up taking about 3 bin bags full of wool from a friends relatives house clearance and have passed it on to a very good cause).
Day 7 - 2 items found in the 'sorting' session.
* Pair of old tracksuit bottoms to charity bag
* A 'banana' teddy that had been chewed by one of the dogs
* 2 childrens jumpers in the bag for friends
I've also decided that I'm not waiting for a charity bin bag to be bursting at the seems before I remove it from the house. Once its even half full, it's going! No more loitering for an extra few weeks. So in light of that the current bag will be going tomorrow!

Well done Bala and hope you feel better soon Vulpix.
I've eaten two frogs today - hic. I managed to do a pile of filing that's been sitting on my desk for about two months (it took me less than an hour to do it!) and sent two long emails one of which has been on my to-do list for all of 2021. Procrastination must be my middle name....
Otherwise I've been busy with decluttering over the past few days and the following items are no longer cluttering up my house:1. Glass vase – recycled
2. Ceramic vase – binned
3-6. Four opened bottles of old alcohol – dumped and glass recycled
7. One pair of earrings – binned
8. One bracelet – binned
9-11. Three bags of old clothing not suitable for charity shop – binned
12. One cocktail shaker – recycled
13. Two alcohol measures – recycled
14-23. Ten glasses – recycled
24. Empty moisturiser pot - recycled
25. Candle packing – recycled
26-27. Two finished candles – binned
28. Calendar packaging – recycled

33. One empty skin cleanser bottle – recycled
34. Last week’s newspaper – recycled
35-36. Two 2021 diaries – recycled
37. One very sick-looking poinsettia plant plus pot – binned
38. One empty cosmetic tube – recycled
39. One empty shampoo bottle – recycled
40. One pair of slippers – binned
41-42. Two finished tealights – recycled
43. 50 emails deleted

48. Filing done and paper shredded
49. Emails answered

Everybody is doing so well, with over 10 pages since I last looked apologies for missing any major events.
@mothernerd condolences on your loss, I have seen some really lovely messages, written much better than I could, but please do take care and remember that grief is not linear
updates from me:
19 - 2021 diary. I normally keep my diaries to look back at, but with so little happening last year there really seemed little point. I think my 2022 diary is already fuller so looking forward to the coming year
20-21 - facial cleanses I thought I would use but have sat on top of my wardrobe for weeks
22 - a baby and a buggy (of DD's) has been rearranged to her outside playhouse and will now stay there for her to use in the garden. Don't worry, she still have 5 other babies, all their clothes, a baby bath, a baby bed and another buggy inside, as well as a baby and buggy at DM's for when she's there.
23-35 - Pens which didn't work, but were had been put back in the pen pot purely to drive me mad!!!!

Thanks for your supportive comments @Mrs_Salad_Dodger. Very true re the great feeling of success and light at the end of the tunnel.
@ marpau. I like the idea of hanging the gift wrapping, a very tidy solution. I just don't have the hanging space. My wardrobe space is minimal and the wardrobe in the craft room is filled with fabric and wool. Once my stash is reduced then I will rethink it.
Well done with that frog BBB. Most frogs are much worst to think about than actually do something with. I think it helps that if can sort it when you think about it (even at 2.30am) then that is even better.I second @GeorgianaCavendish on using the debt free boards. I haven't been in debt for a long time but found them inspirational when I was aiming for my retirement goal.
Thankyou @vulpix. I hope you are feeling better very soon. At least things are moving forward again on the house.I hope the clinic appointment was ok. Always nerve racking. Big hugs
Happy birthday Fizzxx
Fantastic on the shredding @GrannyKate. I have my papers shredded at an official shredders now. You can't believe the weight that has taken off my shoulders over the last few years.
Blimey @marrob. That is a long list.
Well I had a break from the rooms of doom today. I met up with a group of friends I holiday with to plan the next year. One of them is 70 in April but we have put off going to Tenerife sadly. I received a bag of DVDs for the CS but they are not coming into the house.
In the afternoon I met up with DS3 and partner with their new baby. He is gorgeous. I admired from afar as I didn't want to hold him and give him anything. While in town I disposed of a carrier bag of medicines from my Sis who has swapped over to other ones and and a bag of empty pill packets to Soooprdrug. Also a donation to a local homelesness charity via their shop from my online and other sales over 2021.
While in the CS (whispers) I bought a dress. My size and my colours and my style. A rare confluence. I have a wedding to go to in the summer so this will be perfect. Thats it apart from new underwear now this year. Gathering piles of clothes from the spare room and the ones in the wardrobe and draws I realise I have too many and will be creating myself a capsule wardrobe with the contents. Not this week though.I am sticking to the task of clearance in hand.
So current targets:

I know it’s only early days on the decluttering train but l haven’t stepped off yet. For some reason lm finding it better - not easier - but better for me this time. My problem is sentimental items after losing my husband everything seems to hv a memory and it’s been 7 years. He’s not coming back for his motor bike jacket or boots is he ( actually a mouse beat me to the boots l found out yesterday ) or use up that aftershave. I’ve found it better not to dwell too long on items but to make an instant decision. I’ve not even taken things out of the bag after putting them in this time. As recommend in the ‘Swedish Death’ decluttering tips l will be starting a memory box for sentimental items they mean something to me and me only like special cards, letters, tokens etc then they suggest putting a label on the box saying please destroy when lm gone. These items will mean nothing to anyone but me so don’t need to be kept.
My other issue is my new OH who has brought his own clutter to join mine during lockdown and l can only hide so much of mine to make room for his. Onwards and upwards xxHv a good weekend everyone xxCount down to retirement 202314 -
Well today I dealt with the freezer frog, after another couple phone calls, transpires I was given the incorrect information. Cue a trip to the nearest store to talk to a real human being who was really helpful and happy to exchange the faulty item and had one in stock. So I had to drive back home to load the freezer in car and return to the store. All this was done on a very extended lunch break.
All the packaging has been decluttered to the bin / recycling.
Didn't have a chance to do much else with work and school runs, dinner and chores.
Tomorrow the plan to move the freezer into new location in the shed and move contents from old freezer. This involves sorting the shed out to make room. Dispose of old freezer and install the new tumble dryer. Hoping it stays dry enough to do it all, has torrential rain here today.
Have a good weekend, hugs to anyone that needs one.

Think I've caught up.
Bala, thank you.. my dad is ok, just very frail but lucky to spend time with him. He lip reads so very isolated with everyone in masks ... we have started WhatsApp but can't really do conversations so good to be there for a few days.
Vulpix , hope you're ok the mend soon and anyone else ill/ recovering
Had to get my ears checked.. not been right since flight, and nasal spray prescribed over the phone did nothing , apparently one perforated ear drum but pain in both ears- apparently should heal on own but do feel if something can go wrong then happens to mefirst flight for 8 years. Lucky only 2 people in urgent care, would have been 4 hour wait near home.

Hi all, yesterday I decluttered some money on a haircut. OH has been doing it since the first lockdown but wasn't up to it after the blood clot and I just left it, then the weather has been too bad, always do it outside so I don't have the bother of sweeping up the cut hair. Anyhow I had a head like a burst couch so it had to be done
Jumped in the shower when I got home to get rid of all those annoying bits that find their way into your underwear and twisted funny when grabbing the towel, I have done something to my shoulder. I think it's either a trapped nerve or tendonitis so I have uu a half tube of ibuprofen gel. Not much else done yesterday apart from finishing another scarf and parcelling it up to be posted. I slept badly as I kept turning onto my bad shoulder so I was up late today
All I have done is 2 loads of washing that are drying on the maiden, unblocked the outside drain which was full of leaves washed down from the gutter and was overflowing down the path. All our waste water apart from the front gutter finds its way to this grid. I had to wait for a break in the weather as it has been either raining, sleeting or hail stones for most of the day here. I then discovered there is a hole in the hose somewhere as a different part of the path was flooded but it started to sleet again so it has gone on my to do list for another day. I have deleted about 500 emails and sent 1 to someone. I had to text him to get his email address which he texted back but then sent me a different mobile number and asked me to send it there, he has 2 mobiles, don't ask, so I had to explain it was an email and would go to his email account which he could access on either phone. I have had this conversation with him at least twice before.
Couldn't be bothered to cook as by then I was walking around with a heated wheat thing on my shoulder so I had a piece of quiche.
@vulpix, your story of the handyman turning up reminded me of a time when a BG engineer turned up to service my boiler 3 hours early when I had completely emptied my wardrobe to sort it out. The boiler is in my bedroom and just about every piece of clothing I had was on the bed
Off to bed now with more ibuprofen get
Take care everyone11
