bit_by_bit don't know if this will work for you but I store my gift bags and wrapping paper in a clear suit cover which hangs in the wardrobe in spare room with winter coats
That is such a great idea x

Yay bala ! you can do anything now. The worst bit is done.xxx
Bit by bit you are on fire. I feel satisfied on your behalf for your achievements.x
Well the builder/odd job man came when I was sat on the floor in the living room surrounded by mess. He could come and fix the outside toilet door ,take a bit of stonewall down and put up a little fence elsewhere next week. He is also coming to fit an original door to replace a modern one upstairs. I need to get it dipped first. There is one original suffolk latch door on our bedroom. The other door I got from a skip when an old man died next door and his house was renovated about 9 years ago. It has been in the outside loo ever since.
I still haven't put everything back in the pantry of doom because I felt/feel rough. It will wait. At least the decorations are packed up and I only broke one glass bauble!
I have a cold. All sore throat and bad chest. I have done a clear covid test so I am off shortly for a follow up appointment at the breast cancer clinic. I will drop off the washed lost property from work whilst I am out.
Starting the day (I got up very late again) with report of large frog munched up and spat out at the tip. Early last year I started shredding 3 boxes of legal papers from a difficult time for family member. The key was not to read them but I still found myself doing it sometimes. Only a small domestic shredder which kept turning itself off for a rest but this week I tackled the last 4 inch pile and they have all gone - in black bags of shredded paper this morning. I have decided that I need to empty and sort everything in study before giving it a good clean. The plan is to not just put things back but to deal with them as I go. I'll review filing cabinet first as I'm sure some stuff can go from there either to shredder or small shelf of long term storage I have in loft. I know there are some frogs lurking but impressed by Bala's bravery - glad I'm not the only one who gets inspired to do things there and then in middle of night.
44-46 Friday frog and 2 bags of shredding to tip 47 Finished up jar of marmalade which has been in fridge at least 2 years. Trying to eat up everything before I buy new food. Found a solitary pork chop for tonight's tea.
I allowed myself to spend some money on downloads from 1921 census available yesterday but will be strict with myself now. Nearly forgot my quiz and signed in late. Weighed myself this morning - ouch.
Cup of tea and then I will start on study in earnest.
@balabooberlies - well done on tackling that frog and checking your credit report. It is such a scary step to take, but things will get better now. I found the debt free wannabe boards 5 years ago, and started by own diary at the end of Jan 2017. The support and advice I received there on my diary and on the other threads has been literally life-changing, I would highly highly recommend it to anyone tackling debt. Good luck
8. A couple of old beauty products gone - found them sitting in one of the boxes that hasn't been properly unpacked since we moved at the end of 2020 9. Another purge of the fridge, found a few more forgotten (and unfortunately mouldy) items pushed to the back 10. Good chat about gifts with my mum, agreed to cut back on amount of presents given
Bala well done on tackling the frog, now you can sort things out your way and in your own time. Vulpix sending healing vibes, hope you get better soon and good luck at the clinic today. MrsSD absolutely, my intentions are always good and never callous or malicious. That's not in my character, if you can't say anything good or helpful, don't say anything at all is my motto. We decided to try to make some headway into the room of doom, dumping ground .....office. Now at least you can see the floor and walk in without tripping up and falling over. It's mainly DH's domain so I just sat on chair sentry like in the doorway ( my thigh has been painful since last night so sitting was my only option ) holding out the different bags, recycling, cs and bin 😂 Anyway this is the list, in no particular order :- Large tupperware box Large plastic container Pottery fruit bowl Small glass bottle ( brand new ) 4 cardboard sleeves from laminating pouches 3 cut up membership cards OOD 10 empty DVD jewel cases 13 old computer disks I camera box Crumpled up photo paper 1 broken headset 1 telephone socket 1 old camera, broken 5 business cards 1 digital clock, broken 1 battery cover from ? 1 indoor/outdoor temperature station, broken 1 DVD cable Several heavy shares info booklets from building societies that could give "war and peace" a run for it's money. 1 set of index lettering 4 white soup plates, part of a set but never used as they are too shallow for anything 🤨 Also 1 egg box, a margarine tub, a plastic poppadom container and 4 plastic fruit containers from my sm delivery yesterday. Phew, a good haul for me I think, plus there is a large plie of paperwork ready for shredding dealing with my MiL who passed away in 2003 ! That's quite enough for today, I'm worn out just reliving the list 🤣 Take care all, hugs to the poorly ones and those struggling with daily life. nan
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently
As well as noting how much leaves my flat i also record what comes in (not food etc) and shocked myself when i realised how many new (to me) garments etc came in during 2021. That will change. It must. Feel quite determined and went for it today. Not feeling 100% (vertigo) so sat and sorted boxes of accessories. (In mothernerd fashion)
2 odd gloves to rag bag 13 x Scarves woollen and silky 4 x Pairs of gloves 2 x beanie hats 1 x Baker boy hat 1 x small umbrella All to charity shop.
Had sorted kitchen yesterday and out went
6 jam jars chipped diffuser pretty glass canister 2 magazines microwave plate rack jam making funnel 3 old baking tins (start a pile for the tip)
1 old cushion pad binned. 1 Jacket Takes my total to 60 so far.
