I may have "finished" the Room of Doom I have been working on since January. Now down to fifteen boxes, some of which I will be shipping to Emily (the roommate who is back in Missouri). A total of 35 bags of trash, 30 bags of bottles and cans thrown out. Found 54 spoons and forks - including one just this last Sunday. More needs to be done on the room - but it has been filled up by former temporary roommate - now fulltime, as he had to clean out his apartment in a hurry when his other roommates there left - leaving him with the cleanup and facing having to pay the whole rent himself. So room is in use a storage for a bit. Decluttering of other rooms, garage, and a former garage really necessary now.
Celebrating 75th birthday this week by going to Disneyland. Live only a couple of miles away, but don't often get there. Roommate who works there is getting us in free - me and my two sisters. Count this as my main "vacation" this year.14 -
Happy birthday wee Nancy

@mhagster big hugs....all I can say is I know just what you mean x @weenancyinAmerica Happy birthday.
Well yesterday I spent 90 minutes sorting papers to do with tax and pensions. I really hate this job. I dealt with all the money stuff in our marriage except this.
Rewarded myself with lots of gardening. Although at the moment this is mostly masses and masses of watering. I can't remember the last time it rained here. Everything is turning brown and many of the larger plants are loosing their leaves.
Soon I think I might have a functioning study☺️ Today I plan to put all the bits that were in the study that didn't need to be in a temporary box in the loft (some things just too soon to sort. Then gather more stuff for the tip and Charity shop for tomorrow or Friday. (Our tip isn't open on a Wednesday or Thursday)
Plus I have to cut all the pond iris's down to 6 inch in an effort to stop the pond loosing water at such an alarming rate. Apparently 28 degrees here again today.🤦🏼♀️ before getting cooler but no rain forecast for at leat the next 9 daysEnough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D11 -

A collective thank you 😊
For today:
Another shift hurrah (6 to go)
Went home and collected a doggy who really gets in my way at mums but I hate this in and out, hello & goodbye. So ‘we’ weeded and pruned & filled more bags.NDN came to tell me she was putting her garden bin out as she had space. So I emptied some really compacted tubs in to that. So that was a big help and saved me half re-filling the bin in one go tomorrow!Dog was delighted to see her ( as it’s sooo boring at his granny’s!)
Took hoover with me and decluttered three canisters of dust and cobwebs 🕸! Eeek! Then I decided that if you hadn’t been rehomed/charity shopped/recycled/ in the past 9 weeks then you must be rubbish and into a bin bag it went! Five bags! And decided 2 hours was enough and have came home! Plenty rain here teacher girl11 -

Weenancy a Happy Birthday from me too 🎂
This morning I decluttered more things to the van, sleeping bags, pillows etc. it seems a never ending stream of stuff ! I then defrosted my chest freezer and I found a chicken curry in there which will do for our tea, so now I only have to cook some rice. Finally I have cleaned the kitchen floor and while I'm waiting for it to dry I am on here and eating a choc ice, DH has a mini choc lolly, both found at the bottom of the freezer, lucky us 🤤 We are eating up lo foods this week and had some fridge raiders chopped up with salad in a wrap for lunch. Tomorrow it will be a lunchable mixed with a salad in a wrap , minus the biscuits, they'll go with some cheese for a snack. We're having some weird concoctions but I'm not wasting anything not eaten by the DGC last week, which granted wasn't much, especially as they were things I don't normally buy.
I've noticed that the office has become a dumping ground again and I'm itching to get in and have a sort out, but it'll have to wait till we're back from hols, something to look forward too 😂
Take care all

Happy Birthday Nancy!
I have been trying to stretch out some sandals but they feel too tight even though they are the correct size for me. I will donate them as they are hurting me too much! I also decluttered a few OOD date food from the fridge and some more packaging too.9 -
OH took me away for a couple of weeks to rest up and look at something nicer than a sooty kitchen and all the other stuff that needs sorting post-bug infestation. Stayed in a park home and it was lovely there not being any surplus stuff lying about and the kitchen sparsely but very adequately equipped. Lovely artwork on the walls of the local area. The whole place felt so restful and I would like my home to look like that.
Five years ago OH bought his house near my place and the plan was to renovate it and move in together. This hasn’t happened - for various reasons life has got in the way and both properties are in a far worse state than they were as we haven’t been coping with day to day life. Whilst we were away we looked at properties and found a new build which we are now in the process of buying. OH will sell his place and I have friends interested in house sitting mine.I am not getting excited yet as OH suffers with anxiety and may not be able to go through with such a big change as it will be moving a long way away from our friends and my family. However it is an area we visit often and we feel we haven’t explored everything there that we would like to and we don’t want life passing us by.
Dsis is coming to help on Friday. She has been in whilst we were away and swapped my big filing cabinet for hers which is a quarter of the size. I have managed to fit everything in albeit tightly crammed so will get rid of more papers if I can. Also swapping COD for a smaller one on Friday. Whilst I have let go of lots of things recently, there is still more to go before the move. Even if we don’t move it will be good to get a coat of paint on here and some new flooring so decluttering won’t go to waste!
Some cushions gone to CS along with 5 items of clothing. Also gone 3 CDs, a box of books and loads of other rubbish. Cleared 16 items paperwork from filing cabinet to fit files in.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅10
