Thanks all for your support. My situation would have been far worse if I hadn’t already done so much decluttering. Such a shame I hadn’t managed to get it all finished.
Sadly, some treasured things have been damaged by the chemicals and some brand new bedding has had to be binned.
Haven’t been able to find a cleaning company able to come in a do a post treatment deep clean - they are either fully booked a long way ahead or are not currently doing one offs. Have reached out to another organisation to see if they can point me in the direction of any help and have another to approach next week.
OH has done a grand job filling the skip and there is more to do. We are taking the weekend off so that we don’t get worn out. I think we will work better next week if we have a proper 2 day rest.
Weatherproof/airtight storage boxes arrived today so all washed clothes, bedding and towels can be stored reasonably safely. Have also bought moisture absorbers as these should help to finish off any newly hatched bugs not killed by the washing/hot drying process.
Will sort out some homemade CO2 traps next week so any bugs hidden deep in crevices away from the chemicals may be enticed out of their hiding places. I am leaving nothing to chance as I can’t face going through all of this again. It could be months before this is fully sorted at a time when I really should be prioritising my health, not my home. I do need to get back to my own bed as quickly as possible in order to do this so somehow the work has to be done.
I haven’t counted what has gone out but it’s a lot!Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅10 -
Well that's some Friday accomplishment another 3 frogs sorted today. DH did WUDUPA whilst I got final bits of paperwork together to make that call. Technical issues where the contact was needed added to the stress and getting cut off 3 times did not help. Was easy once we had an experienced staff member to deal with the query. Shortfall paid for.
Put in claim for marriage allowance 2 years worth - oops! clearly been hit and miss with it.
Old paperwork from files removed and placed waiting on the shredder to be done as it is a bit noisy and DH had to go back to bed - another bad day for him. Random paperwork filed away.
Scanned in a cheque, hope that it is clear enough to save me having to drive into town to submit it.
Washing done and hung out on whirly gig in the wind. I have noticed with the WM even when on eco wash if it is not at the weight it cuts the time accordingly so relieved about that, I was worrying about the potential 3 hr washes. We aim for 2 washes a week.
Enjoying the tales from Mrs SD as we won't be on holiday this year or next probably.
Have a good weekend all

Love hearing about Mrs S_D's trip. It's been awhile since I was in Las Vegas - things have really changed since then. They will be heading north now - so after the heat, they may be running into more rain. I have been watching the weather each night to see how they will be doing. Looking forward to more pictures. I have been to all of the places she listed for her trip - but it was quite some time ago for some of them.
I have gotten bogged down on cleaning the room of doom out, because I have to pack things up to mail to the former roommate. Trying to decide what is worth mailing and that will be important to her as she has limited space where she is. Looks like it will be one box of books, one box of clothes, and one box of miscellaneous. The problem will be getting them to her. Will need to mail them to her grandmother's house for them to deliver.
Two of the roommates have had head injuries so far. One has a staple in his head to be removed next week. I'm hoping he isn't mixing alcohol and pain pills, but I can't be sure. The other is having "post-concussion syndrome" according to the doctor after falling at Disneyland and hitting the back of her head getting out of a ride. No help from them these days. Another roommate is on leave from Disneyland as he had a nervous breakdown at work after having to work too many 12-hour days. Who knew Disneyland could be so dangerous. At least the other roommate is still functioning most of the time. To top it off I had work down on the bottom of my foot - so mobility is not great. Lot of the cleaning has been put on hold. I am doing one box at a time.8 -

Been reading along esp enjoying Mrs SD's holiday escapades but reading @DuranGirl I wanted to echo @bit_by_bit
Little has been going out from here but yesterday I noticed a broken pen on the floor so out it went! I have been tidying put pens together and putting things in their home but things not leaving!
Have managed to find which consultant DD1 is under from surgery last summer and hoping they will give a follow up without GP involvement, GP in one borough, hospital in another and her in another - 5 month wait for physio. When she rings up she says she gets ignored. Helped her with email about bursary uni said she would get automatically last year - hope she sends it, a couple more email frogs edging forward. Alot of things way behind with....going to my dad's and hoping I will focus on whether I really want to bring x or y back. DB is there as well and tip trips booked for sun&mon. Bag of leaves swept up. Count as 7 - 861

Started a major cleaning of the refrigerator. It isn't very big and with 5 of us using it, things get stuffed in and other things get pushed to the back. We all eat at different times and different things. Need some bins to corral stuff I think. Had some strawberry mixture spill in there and it wasn't properly cleaned up. Pickle jar was stuck to the shelf and I had to use a knife to pry it up. That when I decided a major clean up was necessary. Will finish it this weekend.
Have seen the postbox toppers on Facebook. Loving them. Have a great Jubilee weekend everyone!8 -

Evening All, sneaking back in. RL and my job especially stressful, senior management paying office politics, team members doing what they want, others leaving the team and most of us near breaking point with too much work to do 😪
Thankfully a couple days off and I'm feeling a bit more like my old self. On top of work I my back pain flared up and I could hardy walk without sharp pain. Emergency chiropractor appointment helped but then aggrevated everything and pain kept me awake at night. Just over a week later and 2 more treatments the pain is much better. I'm full of admiration for people with conditions where they are in constant pain. I was a grumpy cow and couldn't focus on anything, plus taking every OTC painkiller I could.
I have been continuing the decluttering, lost count but its constant progress.
Decluttered a coffee table and nest of tables to friend in need. 2 boxes of shredded work papers and notebooks.
1 binbag of plastic recycling to supermarket. Another binbag of recycling to the Tetra scheme.
Did another carboot today, clothes seem to sell really well and all my old stuff sold. So now need to do another declutter, I have plenty I can cull. We did come home with a petrol Strimmer for the allotment and new watch for OH. He doesn't like wearing an expensive watch on construction sites.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend x9
