Goodness me, I am VERY ready for Christmas 😱 Four work events last week and another one today, Mr Cheery's multiple health fiascos, a funding bid, a job application, all on top of general life, have quite worn me out.
Today's event didn't start well, with someone upset with us (partly legitimately) - I won't go into details here but we could have done a better job, and because we didn't, they had a rough time 😕 So that started us on the wrong foot, and while everything else went quite well, I am now very tired.
Still, on a train home and should be back by 7.30. Very ready to sleep for the whole weekend, but unfortunately I need to be back in the office tomorrow, going to visit Mr Cheery's dad (for the first time in ages) on Friday, and then Mr Cheery has another gig on Saturday and we're staying over, so it'll be fun, but not exactly super relaxing.
And then Berlin next Wednesday! Which will also be fun, but we are NOT seasoned travellers, and so I expect that will be rather more relaxing once I'm at home looking back on it 🙄
But, friend did march me to a shop near Euston to grab the most excellent samosas I have ever tasted so I am at least not hungry 😂 in fact I have enough samosas to feed me for the next couple of days 😂7 -

Sorry to hear it’s been another long/rough day Cheery - you definitely sound ready for the Christmas break! When do you finish work?

Finishing on the 19th, and not planning on going back til 8th Jan I don't think. Would love to have 3 weeks off, but the way the dates fall mean our Christmas do/all day meeting thing is on Tues 19th this year, and I would like to go to that, so I'll make that my last day.
Still, just under 5 weeks to go, and it's only 17 working days (one of them being the Christmas do), so I can't really complain 😂
Goodness, I'm not sure i can give you more samosa info 😂 We went out if the back of Euston station... I realise that's not very helpful! Oh, hang on! The bag says Ambala, the finest Asian confectionery 😁 They had an excellent selection of sweets (I confess I did have a teensy piece of walnut halva too...). Samosas were big and not flat, delicate but beautifully flavoured, quite short pastry, very tasty indeed. I bought 6 plus 2 bits of halva and it was about £8. Definitely worth a trip if you're nearby!6 -
ooo - thought I was seeing double for a moment & then realized it was a double post - LOL
Also a second request for details on the samosa location (and pricing) please Cheery! It seems we all have occasion to go to/by Euston on our days in London - LOL4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!4 -
Oooh thanks for that - will have to check them out next time we’re passing. Very reasonably priced too.
Seems sensible to finish on the 19th. 17 days is hopefully manageable - hopefully there’s not as many events as there have been recently. You seem to have been travelling a lot lately.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Oops, sorry for the double post, still on the train and things are a bit sketchy!
Hopefully you've seen my post just above yours RT. Drummond Street, I believe!
I do feel like I've been travelling a lot lately. But I haven't really. A couple of trips to London (only a week apart), one further south a few weeks back, and other than that it's mostly just been to the city I work in (but I've been back and forth more than usual lately for various reasons).
I think I'm just moaning about it a lot! 😂
Run up to Christmas shouldn't be too bad. Office tomorrow, then Mr Cheery's dad, then Manchester over the weekend. Then Berlin next week, but obviously none of that is work 😂 I don't have any other work events until the Christmas do, thankfully. A couple to arrange for late Jan/Feb but that feels slightly further away 😂
And I might have a new job by then 😱😱 although these events would still be happening regardless. Not heard anything on that front yet, but it's not been a fortnight yet, so fingers still crossed...
This is an uneventful train journey but I am very ready to be at home now!5 -

Right, today needs a plan. Ultimate priority is job form, but that will expand to fill any and all available time between now and Thursday 🙄 and I would like to get some other things done too. So...
MORNING
* workout
* breakfast and quick wipe round kitchen & put dishes away
* shower and dressed
* washing on
* get dehumidifier into the car 🙄 Utterly stinks in there. Mr Cheery's dad had an accident in there a while ago, then Mr Cheery left the window open and both front seats got soaked and now it stinks of damp too, and it's had a mouse in there too which is also not helping 🙄 So drying out properly is a good start since it's not raining today!
* job form - every section of personal statement now has something in, so send couple of emails asking for advice/extra reference, and spend 10 mins editing each section (there are 10...)
* hang washing outside
AFTERNOON
* make something wholesome for dinner - and make couple of extra portions for freezer
* meal plan while eating
* job form - another 5 mins on each section, and print for Mr Cheery to have a look at (he spent 20 years as an editor, so is useful to have around at such times 😂)
* flute practice - probably at least an hour
* make some snack bar things for work snacks (literally just blending a cheap bag of fruit & nuts, and mixing with a bar of dark chocolate melted in the microwave)
* bring washing in
* band practice - I'll be out 4pm til 7.30.
EVENING
* move dehumidifier into spare room
* make tea including extra portion for freezer
* make breakfast and dinner for tomorrow (working at home)
* 15 min declutter
* washing away (including last lot which is still in my study)
* clothes ready for tomorrow
Er, not even sure if that's all physically possible in the time available - I guess we're more likely to find out if I actually get out of bed 🙄😂Live the good life where you have been planted.

Well, I will be if I don't still feel as rubbish as this 🙄 Started with a bit of an annoying tickly throat on the train, and now been parcelled off to bed with a bottle of cough mixture and some paracetamol 😕 Might take tomorrow off altogether - certainly won't be going in for my planned meeting I don't think, don't want to be infecting anyone else 😕
Well, don't want to make too many pronouncements about the coming days. It may just be feeling run down and too much central heating. Let's see what tomorrow brings (but I do NOT want to jeopardise next week's flights 😱😱 so I shall ditch everything else in the meantime if necessary!)5
