Our milkman delivers farm eggs ? Have you a local one (disclaimer I am rural so perhaps that’s why)
I love the tropic balm above - used it on my knee replacement scar and it’s almost invisible

Thanks all 😊
@dawnybabes we're rural, but we don't have a milkman (although we do live next door to a dairy farm 😂). There are several honesty boxes near us, they're just often empty! I shall continue my quest...
Feeling slightly more cheerful (although I am now in the pub waiting for Mr Cheery's gig to start, rather than at work, so that might explain it 😂)4 -
Cheery - how vexing was that egg adventure! - I'll bet very few people would have checked the eggs as closely as you did!
For the bug bites or just itchy skin in general, give Witch Dr. gel a try - the Big River site carries it, as do pharmacies & grocery stores. - I have used successfully for a few years & it can be reapplied if the itch comes back. - I think B00ts also do their own branded version of witch hazel gel.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! I seem to have acquired quite a few insect bites from working in the garden this week, they are quite big, itchy and red
I just dab some Tea Tree Oil on them and that helps with the itch, is antiseptic and dries them out.

Thanks all, and thanks for the tea tree oil reminder teapot - I did that before going to bed last night as I have some in - might do it again now.
The sun is shining! We were going to have a cafe trip, but Mr Cheery didn't want to wake up this morning 😂 I've had a leisurely breakfast, and been reading the Consumer Rights MSE forum - posted a specific query about the stupid hob after all your excellent advice on here - just checking if the expert folks in there think it's worth bothering with anything further, or whether they can suggest anything we've not thought of. The whole thing is making me quite stressed when I think about it, so if there's no chance of resolution, I'd rather just paint over it and forget about it quite frankly!
So, plans for the rest of the weekend are minimal. Scything (plenty of bug spray 🙄 but it's also pretty breezy out there today anyway). More garden pottering. Might do some experimental use of brick acid on the windowsill stones - VERY mixed opinions online/from experienced friends about whether this will be super effective/not work at all/dissolve the stones completely, so the only way to find out is try it myself!
Oh!! And I've just remembered I have some work stuff that I didn't get round to taking to the post office yesterday - I'll pop and do that now as it closes at lunchtime.
Back later with a more coherent list 😁6 -
I can't believe you are planning outdoors stuff. I'm currently sat in the living room, without my hearing processor on, doors to the conservatory are closed and the rain battering the glass in the conservatory is still mega loud! How annoying on the eggs. Hope you find a better supply soon. Clearly we need to move your way! There is a nice one gone on the market at Wetton this week but 'only' half an acre.
bites, I take a cheap anti histamine one a day tablet (because I am allergic to everything in the garden annoyingly) and also use anti histamine cream for specific bites - current tube was Tesco. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Thanks all. Starnac, yes, the weather here is definitely better than yours today! I'm currently sat in the garden - it's windy so I'm wearing a jumper 😂 but the sun is shining! It's a good drying day actually - I should put a wash on, should have thought of that earlier!
Wouldn't move up here for the sake of the weather Redo 😂 far too unpredictable for that! 😂
We did find some lovely eggs this morning actually! In a village about 6 miles away, where we often go for a cuppa. I've seen the sign before, but never quite been brave enough to go to the box because it's in someone's garden, and could theoretically be a post box, and the sign isn't right next to it 😂 Put my brave pants on today, and was rewarded with half a dozen lovely eggs, all different colours, some with straw still stuck to them, clearly from a backyard flock. £1.50 as well. I regularly go that way to work, so will keep an eye out 😊
Right, cuppa. I made the last one with the last of the old milk, and it's on the turn 😬 I've not drunk it, going to treat myself to a non-off one 😂7 -
You rash devil, having a non-off cuppa! 😂

Bleurgh! I can't stand a cuppa made with on-the-turn milk! Glad you threw it and made a new one!
Also egg-sellent news about the egg box! Glad you found somewhere, although to be honest I would have been surprised if you hadn't found somewhere around where you liveGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2005
