Are those free comps you're entering in your coffee breaks @rtandon27? Which ones are they as I'd be interested in entering some too! I only enter free ones but haven't won anything yet!4

Ooh, I've not even dipped a toe in the heady world of competitions yet, but I'd quite like to! Any advice appreciated (and I do realise I should head over to the competitions board - maybe a job for this evening!)
I tried signing Mr Cheery up to Prolific but they've not accepted him yet - or maybe they have but it's buried in a spam email... 🤔 Must get him to check.
Had a love afternoon - a visit from ex-ex-Mr Cheery, and then his parents turned up to too drop one of his daughters off. Not seen them for literally 20 years - they've not changed a bit! 😂😂6 -
Right - checked on Mr Cheery's Prolific account - they deactivated one in 2017 because he hadn't used it 🙄 but I tried to put him on the wait list and they said he already had an account... reset the password, verified phone number, and now we're waiting for them to verify ID. He's committed to getting on the case once they've done that so let's see - maybe we'll have a competition to see who can make the most 😂
Much excitement this evening - Mr Cheery did a workout video with me! 😍 I enjoyed it - not sure he did... I'll ache tomorrow though - I already did one this morning 🙄😂
Just sat and ate my tea outside in the last of the sunshine - day 26 of my 26 days off work 🙄 Sadly it's quite still and there are LOTS of bitey things out here 🙄 I've already got several bites under my chin and one on my eyelid, so I fear I may be retreating inside shortly... I don't react badly, but they're still annoying!
Oh, and I joined OnePoll the other day, done a few surveys today and now up to 590 points. Cash out is at 2500 points/£25 so it might actually rack up quite quickly! Currently just over £50 on Prolific too, so between those two and the Happy Wheel I might well make it to an extra £150 at least this month, if not £200 (especially if Mr Cheery gets on the case with Prolific too!)5 -
@joedenise & @Cheery_Daff - I started off by rummaging on the competitions board and signing up to the mailing lists when entering competitions - now I just look at the emails that populate my in box, keep the ones that have competitions for things I like and unsubscribe from the rest.
Only the free ones definitely - anything that is paid for is technically a lottery! - anything that asks me for too much info about myself is also a no go - name, email and phone are fine but I'm dubious about offering home address unless I win or it is a well known brand that is offering samples.
I only enter for things that would genuinely enrich my life - like holidays - but not bundles of kiddo toys or things that would only have value if I spent time on the bay of E or mvinted.

Thanks @rtandon27. I only enter comps where I want to win the prize too. I can't see any point in trying to win something I don't want.5

Ooh, I've dipped my toe into competitive waters and entered a couple of things! How exciting! Only ones where the prize involves cash, I think 😂
So, current state of affairs - going to try to get my head into gear in the next couple of weeks to start tracking all this properly.
OnePoll = 590 points
Prolific = £20.26 (32p pending)
Happy Wheel = down £17 today 🙄 August total £61
Aiming for a OnePoll payout of £25 before the end of August, and to get Prolific to £40. Not aiming for an actual target on the Happy wheel as it's so haphazard, but regular, consistent action is my aim, and a positive outcome of some kind would be good!6 -
You've prompted me to get back to surveys. I've even been ignoring my y0ugov invites lately.
I've sent you an inbox.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!4 -
