Hurrah for the rendering and a lovely weekend away too - I completely get the thing of being somewhere where the To Do list can't call to you as well - it's something I missed on holiday this year because of course we had to do beer festival stuff AND house move stuff while we were there - although the first of those things will still apply when we go way next year, we're hopeful that the second won't!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Ha, yes, all fingers crossed for that! 😱😂
Well, I am having a rather grumpy afternoon. Tried to do some video editing - Mr Cheery has cleared the cache on my laptop not realising it would wipe the videos from the editing website 🙄 I still have them, and can reconnect, but not a job for today.
Spent some time on a longer term project - trying to turn the next installment of my blog into a printed book. Not even going to tell you about the tediousness of that endeavour.
Argued quite a bit with the library e-audiobook app, mostly because I couldn't find anything I wanted to listen to 🙄
Generally, I'm just in a grump and having a sense of humour failure 🙄
Mr Cheery has some friends popping over this evening, but we don't know when, or how long for, or whether they want feeding 🙄
We also have a friend coming tomorrow - but again, no idea when, whether he wants feeding, whether he's bringing wife and 2 small kids or just popping in for a cuppa.
All of this helpful info has been requested but not provided yet 🙄
Some cheerful things have happened though
* I've made 4 portions of pea and feta risotto
* I've made some trail mix snack things to last the week
Anyway, I am in high need of a reset, and probably also a slap with a wet fish 🙄 Generally just feeling like I've wasted the day, nothing I've started has been finished, and I just can't get my act together.
But, that kind of attitude is of no help to anyone!
So instead, a cheerful plan. Tonight's friends will let us know when they set off, so we'll at least get an hour's notice. I'm going to start now and spend 10 mins in each room, just pottering about doing normal tidying - everything is fairly in order anyway, but stuff needs unpacking from weekend away, and we could do with hoovering. 10 mins in each main room will mean everything is tidy both for tomorrow's visit (whatever that turns into) and for me going back to work on Wednesday.
Then I'm going to have some risotto for my tea. I've made the rest to go into the freezer, but if Mr Cheery wants to offer it to tonight's guests, he can - otherwise they've got quorn sausages butties which he can coordinate.
Then I'm going to spend some time in the craft room working on my rag rug - a simple, straightforward project that I can do while watching YouTube videos.
And hopefully by that point we'll have some idea of visitor movements, and will have gotten over my grumpiness a little bit!6 -
That sounds like end of holiday blues to me. T’is allowed 😉
Fresh air and sunshine chase that off for me, but rag tugging is probably just as good 😊 Hope you feel restored to your usual cheerful self soon 😊

😂😂 rag tugging sounds more like pulling your hair out - also an apt activity for today! 🙄😂
Not much chance of sunshine today 🙄 but you're probably right about fresh air!5 -
Oh Cheery! I think we all have days like that and you have my sympathy. You did make me laugh about the slap with a wet fish though - I shall try to remember that for those occasions when I think I probably need one!
I hope your evening is better. I recently read something about splitting your day into four- so that rather than writing the whole day off of things aren’t going your way, you just write off that quadrant and start again in the late morning/afternoon/evening. I like it as a concept.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks Vix - I remember reading about that too, goodness knows where! I agree, an excellent concept!
I've done at least 5 mins in each downstairs room, and now study, living room, bathroom, kitchen, and dining room have been cleaned to an acceptable level, and all hoovered and ready for any visitors that arrive.
Have come upstairs to put holiday clothes away, but I'm going to set a timer for that too, and not going to bother hoovering, up here is pretty clean anyway.
Still no word from either set of visitors, so after the clothes are away I'm going to have my tea and start reading my library book 😊 And if tonight's visitors don't materialise, I might have a nice bath instead!5 -
Tonight's visitors did turn up - and very cheerful they were too. Mr Cheery had a lovely time doing musical things, and I sneaked off to do a bit of my rag rug 😊 Very jolly. He also managed to sell one of them a musical instrument, so very MSE! (Not unexpected - they were visiting to have a go on it 😂).
Still no word about tomorrow's visitors. It's ex-ex-Mr Cheery, and I'm afraid he has form for leaving arrangements rather loose 🙄 In the old days he was usually waiting to make sure he didn't get a better offer 🙄😂 but these days I suspect it's just disorganisation 😂5 -
Anyway, having just done a Y-Live survey for £3, I've got to pondering extra income again (and yes, it's 1am and I should really go to sleep!) I'm at £17, so a way off payout 🙄
I did have some luck on the Happy wheel tonight though, with £55, taking August total to £78, very pleasing (obviously this can, and probably will, go down 🙄😂).
Wondering whether to have an extra income total for the last third of the year, starting in September? (Or even now, I suppose!) I don't tend to tally up what I've earned extra each month other than the Happy wheel, but I think I'd quite like to. Will add up 2023 total so far tomorrow 😊
I'll be including...
* Happy wheel
* prolific
* cashback (although I can tell you now it's £0)
* premium bonds winnings!
* qmee
* other surveys etc
Can you think of anything obvious I'm missing? I'm not including anything Mr Cheery brings in (like tonight's instrument sale). Can't think of anything else I've been doing - although I can think of a few things I might start doing if I have a target!4 -
Easy one to start with - the Happy wheel. After taking off the annual subscriptions, with all the ups and downs it seems I'm only £40 up overall for this year!! 😱 Outrageous!! I made £1741 last year doing it - perhaps a little more diligently... I've been consistent this year, but not been spending as long on it each day, and it shows 🙄 Definitely something to work on.
What a depressing note to fall asleep on! 😂😂5
