Thanks all 😊
No messages yet 🙄 I'm going to pursue Boots Kitchen Appliances I think - as crap as Smeg are, Boots in this case are the retailer, and therefore responsible, whatever they seem to think. I've not replied to them yet - and I'm not going to until after our weekend away. I spent far too much of yesterday thinking about this and getting grumpy!
The sun is shining today 😊 I've done a workout, and had breakfast in the garden with my audiobook from the library. We're leaving for Wales about 12.30 - Mr Cheery is preparing for his band practice on Sunday, and I'm going to finish this tea and potter about getting stuff ready. So much looking forward to hanging out with our friends for a few days 😊😊5 -
Firs thing is to possibly to edit the social media post to include reference to them...and tag them in to that as well? That way they too are being publicly shamed, and those of us with the relevant social media accounts can also add weight to that approach too!
Happy travels today - and definitely a good plan to leave further shoddy-hob wrangling until after the weekend!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hmm, thought I'd done that? Maybe I just tagged them in the photo itself rather than the post - wouldn't have thought it made a difference but I'll attempt an edit....5

Ah, just realised you obviously meant add BOOTS into the post 🙄😂5

Thanks all 😊 we are having a lovely time here 😊😊 It's such a beautiful place, isolated farmhouse up a long, steep track, high in the hills with a glorious view over a long valley. Very peaceful (although I confess the drive up the track isn't one I'd want to do very often 😱). Rainy today, but I'm sat in the conservatory watching the birds on the bird table and feel very peaceful. It's lovely to be with friends, somewhere where you can't possibly do anything from your to do list 😂😂
Having said that, I did book the car in for a service yesterday 😂
Oh, and it's the time of year where we get bumped up an incremement on the salary scale, so I've worked out what I'd get if full time, what my 4 day gross annual salary will be, and then what my new monthly take home will be. Looks like I'll be getting an extra £136 a month take home, which I am grateful for, and which we will make good use of - aiming to use it to continue topping up savings, rather than losing it in everyday spending.
It's Mr Cheery's birthday today, and I suspect he's angling after a trip to the charity shop in the nearest town. Personally I'd rather just stay here and not have to navigate that track again 🙄 but the rules are different on birthdays, I think 😂 I'm definitely owed a day of NOT going anywhere though - I was aiming for that yesterday but we all went to the pub in the evening (not in our car, at least). Not sure I'll manage it on Monday either, got a prescription to collect. Yawn.
Back to work on Wednesday - I confess I'm getting quite used to not being at work! 😂10 -
Afternoon MSE chums 😊 Delighted to report we didn't go anywhere yesterday, some other friends arrived too, and the six of us had a very cheerful evening indeed 😊😊😊
Quite a late one, mind you 😂
Home now, and pleased to report the rendering geezer has finished, and has thankfully remembered to attach the new gutter clip to a different part of the house. Delighted about this - we asked the builders who did the kitchen to do it almost 2 years ago but they forgot, we can't reach, and it's not worth getting someone out just for that - but it will stop water cascading down the wall by the back door when it rains. Hooray!
The rendered wall is currently grey, so I'll paint it white at some point when we get some decent weather, but there's no rush. At least it's waterproof! Quote was £900, and there'll be a bit extra for a bit of extra fascia board he bought and fitted. Not cheap, but worth it to have another maintenance job ticked off the list, and one we couldn't do ourselves 😊9
