Cheery_Daff said:First time I've won since April 2022, in fact 😱 and before that, I won in Nov 2021 (but I did also win every month for 9 months before that, because that was when we actually had a decent wodge of savings, before we paid for the kitchen 🙄). This is the first time a single bond has won more than £25 too.
Definitely going for the million next month 😂Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Congratulations on your PB win. Both kids have PB's. Neither won this month. It's odd but DS wins more frequently than DD does and because she's older, she has more than he does. (They get them for their birthdays from a very dear friend)
I'm surprised to read that you've never wallpapered before! I would have thought, with all the DIYing you do, that wallpapering would have been one of them! Strange!
Sound like you have a busy day. Hope it doesn't rain too much and that you get enough scything done. You should be nearly done by now right?Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2006 -
I know, it's very odd that I've never wallpapered before! I don't know how I've gotten away with it 😂 Well, I do - I lived in rooms in rented houses til I met Mr Cheery, so most of my decorating experience has been since then, and he doesn't like wallpaper 😂 I've stripped quite a lot of it off in my time 😂 Still, might come in handy one day!
There are 2 million pound jackpots these days I think @Baileys_Babe so maybe we can have one each in September 😂
So. A pottering day so far. A workout this morning, put the spare room sheets in the wash (a pointless endeavour as it happens - turns out our two guests are actually in a relationship - I did wonder - and so will be happy sharing the bed that already has clean sheets 😂).
Pottered round town, bought a charity shop cardi, some ground almonds, and had a not exactly cheap trip to Superdrug for various things like make up, razors, interdental cleaners etc. £30 spent in there 🙄
Popped into @ldi too - managed to spend just over £50 but that included topping up some tins and frozen fruit, pudding for tonight, booze etc as well.
Feels like quite an extravagant day, but mostly because we stocked up on various things that we've been 'making do' without for a while.
Home now and it's raining. Weekend visitors have confirmed they're definitely coming, so I'm going to do some batch cooking. Weekend meal plan (look at me, meal planning and everything!) looks something like this:
Sat eve - paella
Sun breakfast - granola, toast
Lunch - roasted pepper and cashew soup, bread, cheese
Tea - curry and flatbread
Monday breakfast - almond pancakes.
Can't remember if I said, but I signed up to the Joe Wicks app a couple of months ago, and have been sticking to both meals and exercise far more than I've stuck to anything before. I love it, and feel SO much better and stronger. Lots of the recipes are quite simple and good for batch cooking, and I'm enjoying feeling more prepared. Useful to be able to prep in advance for visitors too.
Right, kitchen has been vacated so I'd best get the oven on! 😊7 -

Soup was a fiasco 😂😂 a few small deviations from the recipe... 🤔😂 and I ended up with about 8 pints of a kind of unappetising pinkish mush 😂😂 Mr Cheery has attempted a preliminary soup rescue (something which happens a lot here - I have a knack for taking tasty ingredients and turning them into quite unappealing meals 😂😂) and we now have about 10 pints of slight more appetising almost-soup - although it's still not as red as it would be if I'd used the required amount of red peppers rather than trying to substitute some less red things 🙄😂😂
Hey ho.
Had a lovely evening with neighbours - I LOVE being ale to walk home from their house in less than 10 mins (even if it is practically a vertical 10 mins 😂).
So, tomorrow. Weather is meant to be ok, so I need to focus on outside tasks as Saturday's weather is dire, and I can finish the inside stuff then - visitors not due til the afternoon.
Scything is priority, but I might also mow the lawn as a 'break' and I could do with checking the strimmer is working and strimming the path to the bench.
Oh, and I need to get a gutter clip in case the rendering man comes back on Saturday, although given the weather he probably won't!
So no lying around in bed tomorrow- I want to be up by 8.30 at the latest!5 -
Good luck with the gardening today. Am hoping to get into work and leave a bit earlier so I can get home and do a bit before the evening closes in as the forecast is very wet here on Saturday as well.
and yaaay for the PB win! 😊

Well, so much for being in the garden at 8.30 🙄😂
I was up at 6.30 to go to the loo 🙄 and took the recycling to the end of the drive - a small miracle as we forgot (again) last night and had decided not to bother 🙄 But then I got on the sofa for an extra hour... and I've not long woken up 🙄
I did manage to rescue the sheet that was dangling from the washing line while I was out - but it's rained overnight so none of it is dry anyway 😂
Right - up and outside within the next half an hour!9
