Thanks both 😊
I decided hurling acid around the place while I was that grumpy was a recipe for disaster, so confined myself to some much-needed weeding round the apple trees while listening to an audio book about North Korea - both of those activities made me feel considerably more positive about my lot in life.
Had a cafe trip, and a good pep talk from Mr Cheery, which also helped, then more weeding. Generally feeling much better!
Also remembered I'm only working 3 days this week, then have another six days off 😮 So nothing at all to complain about, and plenty of time to get things done!
Cooked some tea but it wasn't very nice - the less said the better 😂 It won't go to waste - I'll expand the remainder into something more palatable tomorrow (or, more likely, Mr Cheery will - he's far better at food rescue than me 😂).
Nothing doing on either Prolific or 1P today so totals remain the same as yesterday
Prolific - £24.56 + £1.79 pending
1P = £7.05
Happy Wheel £12.42 today, so £65 total
What's that for the month? £96.61, if the prolific stuff doesn't clear, which I imagine it will. Not too bad! £31.61 without the Happy Wheel, which is of course liable to go down as well as up... And I can't access that £7.05 til I get to £25 which isn't looking likely this month!
Right, off to sew elastic on the blinds, maybe do a bit more on my rag rug, and maybe have a shower and paint my nails 😊4 -
Sounds like a sensible decision on the acid hurling 😂😉
Yaay for Mr Cheery and pep talks ❤️
Glad you’ve only got a few days of working before you can get back to doing your life again 😊

Some days are just meant to be productive. Don't worry about it. You still got some stuff done. I am glad you decided that acid and a grumpy mood was not the best idea though

I'm glad you took care of yourself, Cheery (and Mr Cheery took care of you too). How are the apple trees this fine day?2023: the year I get to buy a car4

Cheery - so sorry to hear you had a grumpy day, but very glad that you rested! - sometimes the best to-do list has nothing on it 💗
After all your chat of the stove top saga, thought I'd share a warranty story with you just to let you know it's not just that company, but all companies that try not to honour their warranties!!!
Our new fridge (2021) developed a fault about a year into use, the first light bulb supposedly stopped working so I replaced it with a new one, but it turns out it was the switch in the door & not the bulb. About that time, I was in and out of hospital with some health issues, so didn't properly investigate getting the fridge fixed under manufacturers warranty, which tbh I thought was only 1 year. The fridge worked fine so I was not too bothered about the lack of light, Today, I received an e-mail from the company I bought it from trying to flog an extended warranty for 30ish per year. I suddenly realized I actually had a two year warranty!
Cue a call to the repairs line, a long and frustrating call to request an engineer's callout, where the absolutely clueless girl asked me every single question that was already registered with them & should be easily pulled up when I gave her the reference number off the registration confirmation e-mail. I was then read the riot act as to basically having to pay for the engineer's visit if they found it was not faulty. Then I was asked to e-mail the invoice to them, which they already had when I registered the product. She also asked for the serial number which is on the back of the fridge. I tartly responded that I was not able to move the fridge so she'd have to get it from the information she already had from my product registration. Funnily enough she didn't push the point. By the end of the call I was grumpy at all the extra work I needed to do to get them to honour the warranty! Out of curiosity, I also called the other number on the warranty e-mail and asked them if indeed my registration was still there and valid, the young gent politely asked for the reference number and said yes it was, in about 5 seconds total. He then proceeded to give me the phone number I'd just called to book an engineer's visit. I played stupid, and asked what I needed to do to get it booked & he stated, just give them the number you gave me, everything is in the system so you are good to go. GRRRRRRR... Honestly, what happened to the days of good customer service and fridges that lasted 40-50 years?
So instead of decompressing by entering contests on my coffee break & dreaming of all the places I'd like to win a vacation to, I've started the process to get the fault fixed under warranty - a mundane & tedious process that should have been as easy as a two minute phone call! Honestly, if this was something I could have fixed myself, I would have, just to save all that stupid interaction!!!

That really is frustrating about the warranty avoidance - it's not like these sorts of appliances are cheap is it - and for companies to try to wriggle out of their own warranty periods is downright unreasonable. Goes to show that often it's more about being seen to offer a warranty than actually genuinely offering one! I shall definitely be totally discounting Smeg from any future searches for household appliances at any rate.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks all, and RT I'm so sorry you've had a frustrating experience too!
I had some interesting advice on my thread in the consumer rights section - apparently it would be useful to have an independent report about what the damage was caused by, but it will be a struggle to prove it's a manufacturing fault at this stage 🙄 I've decided that my time and energy is best spent fixing it myself rather than chasing tradespeople and arguing with Boots or Smeg any longer. And I shall take great delight in removing the Smeg logo as part of the fix! 😂
KC,the apple trees are looking good, and I think definitely approving of having more space, less grass competition, and a good deal of mulch 😊 Tomatoes plants are all green again after repotting, and some of the tomatoes are even turning red!
Much happier today thank you 😊 Did a workout this morning, got some washing on the line, and powering through work tasks I'd been putting off 😊5 -
