Would it be worth setting up a pot for Mr Cheery's day for the time being? You can always hide it in YNAB if not needed later. This would avoid the having to rejig your pots later.

Just had a remarkably easy trip to the dentist. Originally for a crown, but too much of the tooth fell off over Christmas so I knew they'd have to take it out, which they did. On the plus side, that means it didn't cost me any more than I'd already paid last time (at least they didn't ask me for any money, and I did speak to the receptionist, didn't just run off!)
Going back in April - he's going to put a bridge over that gap, and offered to do the gap on the other side at the same time as part of the same fee so that was nice of him. Glad I didn't bother getting that one done originally now! 😂14 -
Hmm, had an email about the house insurance, due for renewal 13th Feb. Renewal quote is £152 - we paid £199 last year! Is this something yo do with the new rules about not charging existing customers more than new ones - did I read that on here somewhere? Will check.
Anyway, £152 is very satisfactory, but I'll need to just check it still covers everything. I'm always slightly paranoid that our trees are too close to the house, but I seem to remember measuring them last year and they weren't - maybe they've grown high enough though...
Not one for tonight, and I'd certainly rather not mess about comparing insurance if I can avoid it - you know my feelings about that!
If we *can* take that renewal quote though that'll be ace - I've got £300 in the house insurance pot so I'll be able to repurpose almost half of it.13 -
A renewal quote should be for the same cover as you had last year but definitely worth checking that nothing has changed.
You did read about the new rules where companies can't change renewals more than new business. To be honest I thought prices may well go up so if yours has gone that will be brilliant! Particularly with having almost half your pot available to repurpose.

Excellent news joedenise! I will check - one year in our old house we'd randomly changed from an 1890s end terrace to a 1960s semi 😂😂 still never figured that one out, unless it was some kind of fraudulent ploy for us to be left uncovered if anything happened. So I do always check, just in case!11

I seem to be the only one whose house insurance renewal has jumped by £40. Shopped around and have found it £50 cheaper.Mortgage Free November 2018
